Katherine (Kuxhaus) Winter - Funeral services for Elizabeth Winter, 61, who died Thursday, November 9th, 1978 in the Okeene Hospital were Saturday, November 11,th, 1978 in St. John's United Church of Christ of Okeene, Oklahoma. Rev. John Willmen and Rev. John Fleming officiated. Mrs. Winter was buried in Bierig Cemetery with Landes Sisson Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. Mrs. Winter was born July 19th, 1917 at Okeene, Oklahoma. She and Elmer W. Winter were married July 22, 1933 at Enid, Oklahoma. They made their home in the Okeene area. Mrs. Winter was a member of St. John's Church of Christ and Women's Guild. She was a Children's Sunday School teacher. In addition to her husband, Elmer, of the home, Mrs. Winter is survived by daughters Fae Watts of Tulsa, Oklahoma; Karen Barton of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; and Arlene Pope of Chickasha, Oklahoma; five sisters: Mollie Schaeffer of Okeene, Oklahoma, Katherine Blackburn of Midwest City, Oklahoma; Hannah Deffner of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; Lena Winter of Watonga, Oklahoma; and Ruth Blankenship of Grand's Pass, Oregon and eight Grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, Mr. & Mrs. Conrad Kushaus, a grandson, a brother and a sister.
