WINTER, KATHERINE ELIZABETH (SCHNEIDER) 1860-1927
Katherine Elizabeth (Schneider) Winter - A rare soul entered into deserved rest on Saturday, February 26, 1927. Katherine Elizabeth Schneider was born in the village of Oberdorf, Russia in 1860, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Schneider. In 1923 she married Leonhart Winter. In the last four years of her married life she was very happy and made the home of Mr. Winter very pleasant. Mrs. Winter's life was characterized by nobility of character, and a good nature of kindness that won the love of all. She was a good church member of the First Congretional Church of Okeene. During her long painful illness she did not fail to believe in God's love and will, saying " I must do all I can in praying, singing, and praising Jesus Christ, the savior, for all I have recieved from Him, before my light gets too dim". Miss Hannah Winter, daughter of Mr. Winter and a graduate nurse came home from Cincinnatti to care for Mrs. Winter during her long period of illness. Funeral services were held in the Evangelical Church, Okeene, February 28, 1927. Rev. J. Wessenberger, pastor of the Congregational Church officiating and Rev. Tishhauser, pastor of the Evangelical Church, assisting. Mrs. Winter leaves a husband, Mr. Leonhart Winter, three sons, two daughters, and many grandchildren together with the entire church and community to mourn her loss. She had the thoughtful love, through constant watching wise, To meet the glad with joyful smiles, and wipe the weeping eyes, A heart at leisure from itself to soothe and sympathize.
