WINTER, JACOB G. 1883-1936
Jacob Winter, was born in Bawillna, Russia on November 24, 1883. He was also baptized there and was confirmed in the Lutheran Church at Ellenbach. In 1900, he came to America with his parents, and they lived the first two years in Omega, Kingfisher County, Oklahoma. They then moved to the farm to Okeene, Blaine County, Oklahoma. On September 7, 1905, he married Mollie Laubach of Okeene, Oklahoma. The couple had eight children (five daughters and three sons) who all bemoan including the deeply grieving wife, the going home of the father: Mrs. Earl Meisner of Okeene, Oklahoma; Mrs. Earl Conradi of Hitchcock, Oklahoma; Herman and Elmer Winter of Okeene, Oklahoma; Mrs. George Repp, Weatherford, Oklahoma; Elsie, Earl, and Calra Winter, Oklahoma. Other than them survive him his elderly father and stepmother, seven grandchildren, two brothers, three sisters, and many relatives and friends. In 1909, the now deceased, committed to God to whom he remained true until his death. Brother Winter, until last October, always enjoyed good health, from then on he was in four different hospitals, Oklahoma City, Geary, Enid, and Woodward, Oklahoma. He was operated on in Woodward on March 2. The doctors found Gall Bladder and Kidney problems. After the operation things rapidly went downhill with his strength, so that he was moved from here to eternity on March 6, at 10:20 in the evening. He brought his life to 52 years, 3 months, and 12 days. At his funeral, which took place at the Evangelist Lutheran Church in Okeene, spoke Rev. Campbell, pastor of the English R. E. church, Pastor H. D. Scheer, Follet, Texas, Brother John Sauer, Weatherford, Oklahoma as well as the undersigned H. J. Stroh, Pastor.
