WINTER, ELIZABETH (KUXHAUS) 1917-1978
Elizabeth Winter, 61, died Thursday, November 9th, 1978 in the Okeene Hospital. Memorial services were held Saturday, November 11th, 1978 at 2:00 p.m. at St.John's United Church of Christ of Okeene with Rev. John Williams and Rev. John Flaming officiating. Music was provided by Mrs. Harley Schlotthauer, John & Cherilyn Williams. Bearers were Sam Patzkowsky Jr., Arlyn Conradi, Wayne Winn, Billy Spaeth, Larry Winter and Eldon Scheffe. Interment was in Bierig Cemetery with Landes-Sisson Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. Elizabeth Winter was born July 19th, 1917, the daughter of Conrad Kuxhaus and Mary Kerbel. She was married to Elmer Winter July 22nd, 1935 in Enid, Garfield County, Oklahoma. They made their home in the Okeene area. Mrs. Winter was a member of St.John's United Church of Christ, the Women's Guild, and was a children's Sunday School teacher. Survivors include her husband, Elmer, of the home; three daughters, Fae Watts of Tulsa, Oklahoma; Karen Barton of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; and Arlene Pope of Chickasha, Oklahoma; five sisters: Mollie Scheffe of Okeene, Oklahoma; Kathryn Blackburn of Midwest City, Oklahoma; Hannah Deffner of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; Lena Winter of Watonga, Oklahoma; and Ruth Blakenship of Grant's Pass, Oregon; and eight grandchildren.
