FUNERAL NOTICE - WEBER, CHRIS C. 1900-1999
OKEENE - The funeral for Chris C. Weber, 99, will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Okeene Mennonite Bretheren Church. Rev. Bennet Peters will officiate. Burial will be in Roselawn Cemetery, near Okeene, Oklahoma. Arrangements are by Lanman Funeral Home. The casket will be open at the funeral home from 9:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. today and at the church Tuesday after the service. He was born April 10, 1900, in Argentina to Christof and Effkathrny Glauser Weber and died Saturday, November 27, 1999. The family immigrated from Strausberg, Russia and lived in a small German farming community in Argentina. At age four, he moved with the family to Hitchcock and settled southwest of Okeene. On March 28, 1923, he married Lydia Weinmeister. They settled on a farm north of Longdale, later moving southwest of Okeene where they raised wheat, corn, and cattle. He was an active member of the Mennonite Bretheren Church. They spent winter in Tucson, Arizona and built a home in Okeene in 1950. He retired from farming in the mid 1970's. Surviving is one son-in-law, George W. Bisel of Okeene; three grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, one daughter, three sisters and one brother.
