FUNERAL NOTICE - WEBER, ALEX J. 1921-1998
WATONGA - The funeral for Alex Jerry Weber, 76, will be 10 a.m. Monday at the United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Mark Watson officiating. Burial will follow in Mound Valley Cemetery, Thomas, Oklahoma, under the direction of Haigler Funeral Home. He was born November 2nd, 1921, near Canton, to Henry and Eva (Winters) Weber and died Friday, June 12th, 1998 at his home. He worked at the U.S. Gypsum Company at Southard until World Ward II began. He served in the U.S. Army during the war. After his discharge, he settled in the Thomas community, where he worked as a mechanic. Later, he moved to Okeene and once again worked at the U.S. Gypsum plant. In 1957, he moved to Florence, Colorado, and worked for the Pabco Wallboard Company. Four years later, he moved to the Kingfisher area, where he worked as a John Deere mechanic. He later moved to Fairview and finally to Watonga, Oklahoma where he was employed by Blair Implement Company until he retired. He married Letha Mae Lantz in 1943 and she preceded him in death. He later married Hazel Laveva Pettit and she also preceded him in death. He was a member of the United Methodist Church and also belonged to the American Legion Post in Watonga. He is survived by his daughter, Betty Myers of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; four brothers: Victor Weber of St. Thomas, Pennsylvania; George Weber of Clinton, Oklahoma; Albert Weber of Harrah, Oklahoma; Lester Weber of Fairview, Oklahoma; two sisters: Kathryn Nusz of Okeene, Oklahoma, Eva Rolland of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; and three grandchildren.
