TAUTFEST, BERTHA (LEHR) 1906-1999
WEATHEFORD - The funeral for Bertha (Lehr) Tautfest, 92, will be 2 p.m. today at Weatherford First Baptist Church with Dr. Mark Becton officiating. Burial will follow at Greenwood Cemetery. Arrangements are by Lockstone Funeral home. She was born Augsut 13, 1906 in Homestead to Henry and Katherine (Rade) Lehr and died Tuesday, January 12, 1999. She graduated from Okeene High School in 1925 and briefly worked for the Buick Plant in Flint, Michigan. She later attended Hills Business College in Oklahoma City. On November 21, 1928, she married David Tautfest, Sr. and they lived in Enid. In 1946, they moved to Weatherford where they ran Tautfest Hardware. After his death in 1949 she ran the business with her son, finally retiring in 1993. She was a member of first Baptist Church, was a member of the Southwester memorial hospital board, and a member of the Order of Eastern Star and Chapter FG of PEO. Surviving are one son: David of Weatherford; one daughter, Elaine Lockstone of Weatherford, Oklahoma; eight grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by six brothers, four sisters, and one great-grandson. Memorials may be made thourgh the Funeral home to the church.
