Funeral service for Chelsea resident, Bennie John Tidwell, will be 2 p.m., Wednesday, January 2, 2002, at the Nazarene Church of Chelsea, with Rev. Roy Edwards officiating. Burial will follow at the Chelsea Cemetery under the direction of the Chelsea Funeral Home. Bennie died Saturday, December 29, 2001 at his home following a lengthy illness. He was 65 years old. The son of James and Lillian Ray Davis Tidwell was born June 6, 1936, in Brinkley, Arkansas. Bennie graduated from Brinkley High School. Bennie was retired from the Ford Motor Company. He worked in the service department of Fred Jones Ford of Oklahoma City for 35 years. Bennie married Louise Bookout on January 20, 2001, in Chelsea. They made their home in Choctaw and then moved to Chelsea in December of this year. Bennie was a member of the OKC Bass Club, and enjoyed fishing and yard work. He served in the reserves and with the National Guard. Bennie is preceded in death by his father, James Tidwell, mother and stepfather, Lillian and John Brockwell, and brothers, Jimmy and William. He is survived by his wife, Louise of the home; daughter, Kelly St.Pierre and husband John of OKC; sons: Bennie Allen Tidwell and wife, Tracy of East Alton, Illinois, Ross Tidwell of OKC, Andrew Neal Tidwell of OKC; Richard Harvey Tidwell and wife, Gina of Seminole, Randell Henry Tidwell and wife, Kristi of OKC, and Aaron Tidwell and wife, Marti of Albuquerque, New Mexico; 16 grandchildren; sisters: Paulette Brockwell and Cindy Lee of Wisconsin; brothers: Harrell Tidwell, Lonnie Brockwell, Jerry Brockwell, Wayne Brockwell and Paul Brockwell all of Wisconsin; and many other family members and friends.
