Funeral services for Louis Smith, 86, who died Thursday, November 15, 2001 at Integris Bass Baptist Health Center in Enid, Oklahoma was held at 10:30 A.M., Monday, November 19, 2001 at Ringwood Presbyterian Church officiated by Rev. Jon Larsen. Burial followed at Pleasant Hill Cemetery west of Meno, Oklahoma. Arrangements were by Lanman Funeral Home of Helena. Louis was born January 17, 1915 in Goltry, Oklahoma, the son of Henry and Susie (Schmidt) Smith. In 1923 they moved from Goltry to Meno. On November 16, 1940 he and Mattye Headrick were married in the Ringwood Methodist Church. He served in the United States Army from 1942 until 1945. He was one of the owners of S & H Propane Company for 29 years and was also a farmer. Louis was a member of the VFW in Enid for at least 50 years and a member of the Ringwood Presbyterian Church. He is survived by his wife, Mattye of Meno; one daughter, Debbie and husband, Mike Davidson of Meno; one brother, Vernie Smith of Goltry; seven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; one son, Dickey; and one brother, Albert. Memorials may be made to the Ringwood Presbyterian Church or Oklahoma Medical Research - Cancer Division through Lanman Funeral Home.
