IN MEMORY OF L. C. "BUS" SMITH 1913-1981
L. C. "Bus" Smith, 67, died Friday, May 15th, 1981 in an Oklahoma City Hospital. Funeral services were held Monday, May 18th, 1981 in the Church of the First Born in Homestead, Oklahoma with Elder Glen Tomlinson and the Rev. John Whitfield officiating. Burial was in Homestead Cemetery, Homestead, Oklahoma under direction of Sisson Funeral Home. Born December 23rd, 1913 in Dolores, Colorado, Smith grew up and attended schools in Blackwell, Oklahoma. He was a member of the Church of the First Born. He married Florence Wilson of Okeene on October 20th, 1935 in Isabella, Oklahoma. They lived in Okeene and Hillsdale, Oklahoma. He retired from the Hillsdale School system in 1971 and moved to Okeene, where he was self-employed until 1975, when he retired. Survivors include his wife, Florence of Okeene, Oklahoma; three sons: Charles Duane and Darrel Dean of Fairview, Oklahoma; and Roger Lee of Davenport, Oklahoma; two brothers: Allen of Dalhart, Texas and Wayne of Riverside, California; one sister: Bobbie of Delta, Colorado; 12 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a son, Douglas Eugene, two brothers, one sister and his parents. Memorials may be made to the Church of the First Born or the Heart Fund.
