FUNERAL NOTICE - SPRING, DAVID A. 1908-1969
Funeral services for David A. Spring, 61, were at 3:30 p.m. December 21, 1969 at the United Methodist Church. Rev. Kenneth Tobler officiated. Mrs. Harold Mechem, organist, Loel Briggs, soloist; Mrs. Frank Hippard and Mrs. Kenneth Tobler provided the music. Burial was in Peaceful Cemetery. Bearers were Edward Schoenhals, Jess Kephart, Warren Clark, Harvey Weber, Reuben Weber, and Joe Durham. Honorary bearers were Carl Meisner, Carl Winter, Buford Thomas, and Woodrow Nusz. Keller & Landes Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements. Spring was born September 28, 1908 to John and Mary Spring on their farm 4.5 miles south of Okeene. He lived in the Okeene area all his live. In 1936 he was united in marriage to Ruth Outhier of Homestead. He was engaged in farming and was employed at the United States Gypsum Co. over 10 years. He was a member of the United Methodist Church, served on various church boards and sang in the choir. He died after a short illness, December 18, 1969 at an Enid hospital. He is survived by his wife Ruth; one son, Kerwin of Enid; a daughter, Mrs. DeLaine Hockett, Charleston, South Carolina; one granddaughter, two sisters, Mrs. Harry Reed, Medford, Oregon; Mrs. Elmer Frick, Durham, Kansas.
