SCHROEDER, ALLEN 1924-1999
OKEENE - The funeral for Allen Schroeder, 75, will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday at Okeene Mennonite Brethren Church. The Revs. Bennett Peters and John Flaming will officiate. Burial will be in Ebenfeld Cemetery. Arrangements are by Wilkerson Mortuary. He was born January 19, 1924, in Cleveland, Ohio, to Jess and Alvine Kliewer Schroeder and died Wednesday, March 3, 1999. On September 24, 1943, he married Madeline Lamle. They lived on a farm 3.5 miles north of Fairview for 10 years, and then moved to Gloss Mountains for three years before moving to Southard where they lived for 11 years. In 1968, they moved to Okeene. He was a farmer and a member of Mennonite Brethren Church of Okeene where he was a deacon and an usher for more than 25 years. He drove an Okeene School bus for 16.5 years. Surviving are his wife, Madeline of the home; one son, Gene of Okeene; three daughters, Joyce Browning of Kent, Washington, Alana Holsted of Edmond and Carolyn Keeton of Weatherford; four sisters, Reba McCustion of Indiahoma, Dorothy Pennington of Rusbury, Germany, Elvera Fern DeVine of Mojave Valley, Arizona, and Neva Young of Houston; 13 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, one sister and one granddaughter. As printed in the "OKEENE RECORD", Okeene, Blaine County, Oklahoma, Thursday, March 4, 1999.
