REISIG, LEO C. 1915-1970
Leo C. Reisig was born in Grand, Oklahoma, October 4, 1915 to Mr. and Mrs. J. D. Reisig. Early in life, the family moved to the area Southwest of Shattuck where Leo attended the Seventh Day Adventist Elementary School. He was graduated from the Shattuck High School in 1934; he then attended Union Collage at Lincoln, Nebraska. He was married to Lillian Weibert on November 18, 1934. Both Leo and Lillian had become baptized members of the Seventh Day Adventist Church in 1930. To them was born two sons: Ted C. who has been working for an oil firm in Ethiopia as a geological surveyor and Jon Lee, a student at Southwestern College near Oklahoma City, studying radiology. For a number of years, Leo was a prominent local businessman operating the Reisig Implement Company, along with the operation of a ranch. Survivors besides his immediate family are a brother, Elder Alex J. Reisig, Modesto, California; a sister Mrs. Alvina Thornton, Portland, Oregon; and an aunt Mrs. Kari Laubhan, Higgens, Texas; and many relatives and friends. Leo was preceded in death by his father and mother, and his youngest brother, Billy Reisig who was a casualty of World War II. Leo passed away on February 3, 1970, at the age of 54 years and four months. His funeral services were conducted from the Seventh Day Adventist Church in Shattuck, Oklahoma, Sunday, February 8, 1970. His final resting place was in the Shattuck Memorial Cemetery.
