RUSCH FUNERAL ON WEDNESDAY - Services for John Frd Rusch, 94, were in St. John United Methodist Church Wednesday afternoon at 2 p.m.. Mr. Rusch died Sunday. Rev. Tom Loftus officiated and music was presented by Mrs. Wilbur Silks pianist; Mrs. Tom Loftus and the Rusch sisters. Burial was in Ebenfeld Cemetery. Bearers were Terry Rusch, Marvin Rusch, Abe Rusch, Jim Nusz, J. D. Schaffer and Lester Schafer. Keller & Landes Funeral Home was in charge. The obituary will appear next week. John Fred Rusch was born January 10, 1875 in Oberdorf, Russia and was given his fathers name. His mother was Maggie Meier Rusch. He died February 2, 1969 at the age of 94. Mr. Rusch was married to Mary Stowl and to this union were born four sons and two daughters. Following the death of Mary Rusch, John married Anna Elizabeth Metzler. Two daughters and one sone were born. John and Anna immigrated to American in 1909. They had lived here only one year when Anna died. Sometime later, John married Regina Whittaker and three boys and one girl were born. Mr. Rusch had lived in the Okeene community for 60 years. He was a farmer and active in community affairs until his retirement. Survivors are three sons: Adam, Okeene; Abraham, Liberal, Kansas; Dave Rusch Schaffer, Fairview; five daughters: Mrs. Katie Schafer, Enid; Eva Nusz, Mollie Bouse, Okeene; Mrs. Kemp (Anna) Thornton, Oklahoma City; Mrs. Mary Frakes, Hennessey. Also the Harback, Metzler, and Whittaker children were raised in the Rusch family. There are also 27 grandchildren; 43 great grandchildren; and one great-great grandchild.
