Frank A. Richardson died at the age of 94 on June 18th, 2002 in the Okeene Hospital. Frank was born September 30th, 1907 in Kearny, Syracuse County, Kansas. His parents were Frank Demeritt and Elizabeth Jane Stewart. In December of 1940 he married Anna Marie Pester of Longdale, Oklahoma. In addition to beginning a life of farming, Frank also ran a dozer working on the Canton Dam. In the spring of 1943, the couple moved to western Kansas, near Oberlin, with the oldest daughter, Elaine. They farmed there for two and a half years, before returning to settle in Homestead, Oklahoma where he operated the Farmers Coop Service Station for 24 years. The Richardson's completed their family with a second daughter, Freda. This making their home complete in Homestead, Oklahoma. In 1984, they moved to Okeene where they resided until Anna's death in 2000, at which time Frank moved to the Schallmo Assisted Living Center. This father, grandpa, uncle, brother, and cousin has impacted the lives of everyone with his integrity, sense of humor, and his famous buttermilk pancakes. Frank was preceded in death by his wife, parents, sister and brothers Millie Brown, Earl, Carl, Walt, Ben, and grandson Daniel Medley, and great granddaughter Zoe Workman. He is survived by daughters Elaine (Bill) Clester of Okeene, Oklahoma, and Freda Medley of Verna, Utah; one brother, Gene Richardson of Ponca City, Oklahoma; four grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; as well as numerous other many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Funeral services for Frank Richardson were Thursday, June 20th, 2002 at 11:00 a.m. at the Homestead Bible Church in Homestead, Oklahoma with Rev. Bill Weibe and Rev. Nathan Goshert officiating. Burial followed at the Homestead Cemetery with Wilkinson Mortuary in charge of arrangements. Memorials may be made to the Okeene Public Library.
