Funeral services for Elizabeth Nichols Penner, 82, were held 10:30 a.m. Friday, July 5th, 2002 at the Mennonite Brethren Church. The Pastor Gary Janzen officiated. Burial followed in the Cedar Cemetery under the direction of the Fairview Funeral Home, Inc. Elizabeth Nichols Penner was born on May 17th, 1920 in the home of her parents, Adam and Carrie (Nightengale) Nichols, six miles south of Fairview, Oklahoma. The Lord took her to her Heavenly home on July 1st, 2002 at the age of 82 years. She passed away at St. Mary's Regional Medical Center in Enid, Oklahoma. She grew up and received her education at the Banner School located 1 ¼ mile from her home. On May 19th, 1946 she married Fred Penner of Fairview in the Church of God In Christ, Mennonite at Fairview, Oklahoma. Minister George Nichols officiated. They established their home one mile northeast of Isabella, Oklahoma. To this union one daughter, Lavada Marie; and one son, Fred Adam were born. She leaves to mourn her departure, one daughter, Lavada Koehn and her husband David of Fairview, Oklahoma; one daughter-in-law, Sheila Penner of Guthrie, Oklahoma; two brothers, Ruben Nichols and wife Pauline of Fairview, Oklahoma; Frank L. Nichols and wife Martha of Montezuma, Kansas; two sister-in-laws, Francis Boehs of Montezuma, Kansas; Elsie Nightingale and husband Harlan of Fairview, Oklahoma; three brother-in-laws, John Penner and wife Ida of Moundridge, Kansas; Alfred Boehs of Isabella, Oklahoma; Arthur Koehn of Macon, Mississippi; five grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, one son Fred Adam Penner, one brother, and two sisters.
