Leona Rosina (Burghardt) Nusz was born near Oakwood, Oklahoma March 11, 1916 to Henry and Frederica Burghardt. She grew up in the Oakwood community and attended school at Con 6 and Leonel. Leona was united in marriage to Isaac Nusz on March 11, 1936 at Canton, Oklahoma. They lived a short time in Okeene, then moved to Corn, Oklahoma where they lived for 7 years. They later moved to a farm west of Canton, Oklahoma and moved into town in1971. After moving to town, Leona did odd jobs and done babysitting for several years. She departed this life on March 4, 1985 at the Seiling Hospital, after a lingering illness, at the age of 68 years, 11 months, and 23 days. She is survived by her husband, Isaac of the home; one son, Ivan, Watonga, Oklahoma; two daughters, Kathy Rauh, Bethany, Oklahoma, and Joyce Cox, of Canton, Oklahoma; one sister Martha Reese, Canton, Oklahoma; one grandson, Russell Nusz, Watonga, Oklahoma; four granddaughters, Annetta Nusz, Watonga, Oklahoma, Ginger Cox, Canton, Oklahoma, Deawn Rauh, and DeAnn Rauh, both of Bethany, Oklahoma; and a host of other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents and six brothers.
