Lydia (Herbel) Nuss, 88, died October 10, 1991 at her home. She was born March 28, 1903 in the Dorrance area, the daughter of Reuben Herbel and Julia Steinle. A lifetime resident of the Dorrance area, moving to Great Bend in 1984 and to Lyons in 1988, she was a homemaker. She was a member of the First Lutheran Church and the Mary Circle, both at Dorrance, Kansas. On May 7, 1922, she married Reuben Nuss at Dorrance, Kansas. He died in 1976. Survivors include: one son, LaVerne of Wilson, Kansas; two daughters: Ruby Mitchell of Great Bend, Kansas; and Doris Janssen of Lyons, Kansas; a brother, Jake Herbel; nine grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren. Funeral service will be at 2:00 p.m. today at the First Lutheran Church, Dorrance, Kansas, with Pastor James Wagner and Eugina Fultz presiding. Friends may call from 10:00 a.m. until service time today at the church. Burial will be in the Wilson City Cemetery, Wilson, Kansas.
