IN MEMORY OF - McCrary, Mrs. Charlie (Virgie Smith) 1899-1972
Funeral services for Virgie McCrary, 73, Watonga, who died May 28th, 1972 in Westville, Oklahoma of an apparent heart attack will be at 2:00 p.m. Friday, in the Trinity Baptist Church. The Rev. Calvin Fadenrecht will officiate. Burial will be at the I.O.O.F. Cemetery under direction of Harris Funeral Home of Watonga, Oklahoma. Mrs. McCrary had been a resident of Watonga for the past 55 years. She was born at Yelville, Arkansas on July 10th, 1899 to Mr. & Mrs. Joseph Smith. In 1916, she married Charlie McCrary in Vinita, Oklahoma. Mrs. McCrary was a housewife who had worked in the Watonga Grade School as a cook and had operated the McCrary Laundry in Watonga for several years. In addition to her husband Charlie, she is survived by four daughters: Mrs. Mable Greer and Mrs. Alice Brickman, both of Watonga, Oklahoma; Mrs. Doris Gerlach of Enid, Oklahoma; and Mrs. Esther Kochenower of Indian Hills, Colorado; four sons: Dr. John Dean McCrary of Beirut, Lebanon, Dr. Ed McCrary, Joe McCrary, and Jim McCrary, all of Watonga, Oklahoma; one sister, Mrs. Beatrice Crudup of Marshall, Texas. One sister, Mrs. Emma Hopkins of Vinita, a brother E. J. Smith of Parsons, Kansas, and her parents preceded her in death.
