A memorial service for Simon Edward McEachern, 84, was held on Monday, February 25, 2002 in the First United Methodist Church in Jet with Rev. Faye Good officiating. Simon passed from this life on Thursday, February 21, 2002 while a resident of Cherokee Memorial Manor. Arrangements are by Lanman Funeral Home of Cherokee. He was born on April 19, 1916 at Elkton, Oklahoma the son of John Malcom McEachern and Bessie Cost McEachern. He and Dorothy Louise Fisher were married in Arkansas and made their home in the Jet area where Simon was a farmer-stockman. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Jet and was a life-long resident of this area. Survivors include his wife, Dorothy Louise McEachern; one daughter, Sharon Ramey; three sons, Don Edwards, John S. McEachern and Mark A. McEachern; six grandchildren, Robby Kruckenburge, Erica Edwards, Jason Edwards, Hunter McEachern, Clint McEachern, and Cassie McEachern. He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Robert "Bob" and Wesley "Wes". Memorials may be made to the Cassie McEachern Pageant Fund through Lanman Funeral Home of Cherokee.
