Funeral service for Mary Elizabeth Miller, 67, were Saturday, March 30, 2002 at 2:00 p.m. in Lanman Funeral Home Chapel in Cherokee with Rev. Faye Good officiating. Burial will be in Cherokee Municipal Cemetery. Mary was born on December 22, 1934 in Cherokee, the daughter of Carol Heise and Gladys Fisher Heise and died on Thursday, March 28, 2002 at Share Medical Center in Alva. She graduated from Cherokee High School. On December 23, 1965 she and Frederick Miller were married in Alva. She was a hard worker and worked as a cook while they owned Millers 66 Café and later at the Sale Barn Café. She and J.R. were custodians for several businesses in Cherokee. She loved to cook, travel and sew for her grandchildren. She attended the Prairie Valley United Methodist Church. Survivors include her husband, J.F. of Cherokee; two children, Carol Miller, Sr. of Enid and Juanita Miller of Cherokee; three grandchildren, Carol Jr., Kelsey and Kyle. She was preceded in death by her parents. Memorials may be made to Prairie Valley United Methodist Church through Lanman Funeral Home.
