Funeral services for Isaac Meier were held on Friday, August 16th, 2002 at the Seventh Day Adventist Church in Okeene, Blaine County, Oklahoma with Pastor Ryan Neil and Pastor Scott Baker officiating. Burial followed in Roselawn Cemetery in Okeene with Wilkinson Mortuary of Okeene in charge of arrangements. Isaac Meier was born on October 11, 1907 to Jake and Kathrine (Miller) Meier, and passed away on August 13, 2002. Isaac attended a small country school a couple miles from the home place, also attending Hitchcock High School, a boarding school in Clinton, Missouri, a Seventh Day Adventist School and Southwestern Junior College in Keene, Texas. At the age of 33, he was married to Alice Brickman. Alice preceded him in death at the age of 82 on October 14th, 1992. Isaac spent most of his life working on the farm and selling seed wheat. He also helped build the Okeene Seventh Day Adventist church, the church school, and the Weatherford Seventh Day Adventist church. He helped support the Summit Ridge Retirement Center and Oklahoma Adventist Academy in Harrah, Oklahoma, as well as numerous other church projects. He was also preceded in death by his parents, Jake and Kathrine, his brother, Alvin Meier, and Alvin's wife Mildred. He is survived by one son, Jerry Meier and wife Darla of Weatherford, Oklahoma; one daughter Yvonne Dickerson and husband Everett of Clarkston, Washington; one sister: Elberta Swaim and husband Orval of Okeene, Oklahoma; four grandchildren, three great grandchildren, and two step great grandchildren as well as numerous other relatives and friends.
