OKEENE - The funeral for Lillie Laubach, 85, who died Wednesday, July 8, 1992 at the Okeene Hospital, will be at 1:00 p.m. today at the First Christian Church in Okeene. The Revs. Tim Johnson and Kevin Kellogg will officiate. Burial will be in the Roselawn Cemetery under direction of Wilkinson Mortuary. She was born August 9, 1906 on the family farm four miles south of Okeene to Henry and Hulda Schmidt Eberhart. She attended Okeene schools, graduating in 1924. She lived in the Okeene community most of her live and was a homemaker. On September 12, 1926 she married Otto Laubach at Watonga, Oklahoma. The couple farmed in the area. They celebrated their 50th Wedding Anniversary in 1976. She was a member of the First Christian Church. Surviving are one daughter: Mrs. Ralph (Virginia) Stover of Sperry, Iowa; one son, David of Arlington, Tennessee; three sisters, Elsie Crowe of Okeene, Lee May Ball of Cleveland and Ruth Benham of Vinita, Oklahoma; seven grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, one son and one sister. Memorials may be made through the funeral home to the Okeene Ambulance Service or to the Okeene Hospital Foundation. She was a resident of the Okeene Community all of her life where she was a homemaker. Lillie attended Okeene schools, graduating in 1924. On September 12, 1926, she was united in marriage to Otto Laubach at Watonga, Oklahoma. They celebrated their 50th Wedding Anniversary September of 1976. Lillie and Otto were dedicated to the land and farming. She was a loyal member of the First Christian Church, dedicating her life to Christian service early in life. Lillie was preceded in death by her husband, Otto; one son, R. L.; her parents; and a sister. Survivors include a daughter, Virginia and husband Ralph Stover of Sperry, Iowa; a son, David and wife Connie of Arlington, Tennessee; a daughter-in-law, Shirlee, of Okeene, Oklahoma; seven grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; three sisters: Elsi Crowe of Okeene, Oklahoma; Lee May Ball of Cleveland, Oklahoma; and Ruth Benham of Vinita, Oklahoma; several nieces and nephews; and many friends. Funeral services were held Saturday, July 11th, 1992, at the First Christian Church in Okeene, Oklahoma, with the Rev. Tim Johnson and Rev. Kevin Kellog officiating. Burial followed in Roselawn Cemetery with Wilkinson Mortuary in charge of the arrangements. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made through the funeral home to the Okeene Ambulance Service or the Okeene Hospital Foundation.
