LAUBACH, HERBERT EDWARD 1898-1972
Herbert E. Laubach Funeral Is Today - Herbert E. Laubach, 73, died September 25, 1972 at the Okeene hospital following a lengthy illness. Services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday (today) at the Zion Baptist Church. Pastor Darwin Stahl and Pastor Donald Dellenbaugh will officiate with music by Mrs. William Heffel, organist and Mrs. Ben Neufeld, soloist.
Interment will follow in Ebenfeld Cemetery with Landes Funeral Home in charge. Bearers are Arnold Laubach, Robert George Laubach, Curtis Warflie, Billy Laubach, Gerald Laubach and Floyd Allen Lipps. Honorary bearers are C.A. Laubach, Otto Laubach, Herman Laubach, O.G. Graalman, Chester Carver, William Geis, Harvey Weber. Laubach was born October 8, 1898, son of Henry J. and Mollie Laubach of Okeene. He was united in marriage to Hannah Greb, August 1, 1923. To this union were born two children, a saughter, Mrs. Irvin (Norma) Hill of Enid; and a son, Virgil of Weatherford. His wife preceded him in death December 27, 1926. Laubach was born at Okeene and lived his lifetime in this area. He was a farmer most of his life. In 1959 he moved to Okeene where he was engaged in carpentry work until his health failed. He attended Mechanical and Engineering College in Kansas City, Kansas. For many years he served as a member of the Deep Creek school board. He was a member of the Zion Baptist Church. July 18, 1934 he was united in marriage to Ruby (Laubach) Wahl. To this union five children were born: Mrs. Claude (Neoma) Vanzant of Sallisaw; Eugene, New Orleans, Louisana; Mrs. Bob (Norita) Adam of Okeene; Mrs. Monte (Nadine) Benham of Des Moines, Iowa; Harold of Oklahoma City; and one step-son, Don Wahl of North Little Rock, Arkansas. Other survivors are 19 grandchildren, three brothers, George and Irvin of Okeene and Alvin of Los Vegas, Nevada; three sisters, Mrs. Sam (Dorothy) Greb of Muskogee; Mrs. Adolph (Ruth) Kosanke of Cordell and Clara Federman of Okeene.
