LAUBACH, CHARLES A. Jr. 1901-1991
Charles A. Laubach, Jr. was born January 11th, 1903 in Okeene, Oklahoma to Charles and Anna Laubach. He died Sunday, November 10th, 1991 at the age of 88 years, 9 months, and 30 days. Mr. Laubach graduated from Okeene High School in the Class of 1923 and was most active in the Okeene School system. He was a teacher for several years at Grandview Country School, and was recognized at the Okeene Alumni Association Reunion in July 1991 for being the oldest football player, oldest bus driver, and the oldest school board member attending. On February 7th, 1924 he and Hannah Tautfest were united in marriage at Zion Baptist Church. They lived in the Okeene area all their lives. Five children were born to this union. He was preceded in death by his wife, Hannah; a daughter, Gene Miles; a great-granddaughter, Darcy Gene Lamle; six brothers, Charles E., Otto, Herman, Leo, and Clarence, and one sister, Minnie. Survivors include two sons: Marvin of Enid, Oklahoma; and Donald of Okeene, Oklahoma; two daughters: Romilda of Okeene, and Charlene of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; a brother Frank of Okeene; 19 grandchildren, and 23 great-grandchildren. Funeral services for Charles A. Laubach were held Wednesday, November 13th, 1991 at 3:00 p.m. at the Zion Baptist Church in Okeene, with Pastor Monte Michaelson officiating. Interment was in the Roselawn Cemetery under the direction of Wilkinson Mortuary. Memorials may be made to the Okeene Hospital Fundation.
