KLEIN, HENRY H. 1869-1927
Henry H. Klein was born January 1869 in Russia and departed from this life February 15th, 1927, age fifty-eight years and 21 days. At an age of ten he came to the U.S. with his parents and settled on a farm in Marion County, Kansas, where he grew up to manhood. In 1892, he was united in marriage to Katie Rothe and to this union were born three girls and one boy. One of the girls died only a few months old. In 1899, his wife passed away, leaving him with three children. In May 1900, he married Mary Bender and to this union were born three children, two boys and one girl. This second companion also died in December 1923. For the past six years he has been an invalid and one week ago he suffered a stroke of paralysis and from that time on he failed very rapidly, and he died a few days later. In 1890, he was united with the Seventh-Day Adventist Church and helped to support the cause. He leave to mourn his loss, three daughters, three sons, three grandchildren, one brother, two sisters, and a host of friends and neighbors. Words of comfort were spoken in the Hitchcock auditorium to a large congregation by Elder M. B. Van Kirk and assisted by the Methodist minister of Hitchcock and the writer. The remains were laid to rest at the East Cooper cemetery. Obituary was written by J. W. Wasenmiller and printed in the SOUTHWESTERN UNION RECORD on February 22, 1927, a secular newspaper for the Oklahoma Seventh-Day Adventist church.
