IN MEMORY OF OLIVER ELSWORTH HICKS 1921-1981
Oliver Elsworth Hicks, 60, died Thursday, July 9th, 1981 in an Oklahoma City hospital. The Rev. Paul Hudson officiated at funeral services Monday, July 13th, 1981 in the Geary First Baptist Church and Turner Funeral Home was in charge of burial in Geary Cemetery, Geary, Oklahoma. Born January 24th, 1921 in Briarton to Julius A. and Nora (Hoffman) Hicks, he had lived in Geary for the past 35 years. Earlier, he had lived in Tulsa, Oklahoma and Perkins, Oklahoma. Hicks married Pauline Spencer on December 13th, 1940 in Stigler, Oklahoma. A W.W. II veteran and member of VFW and the American Legion, he was a retire mechanic. Survivors include a daughter, Elaine Piercefield of Quapaw, Oklahoma; a son, Benny Hicks of Miami, Oklahoma; his mother, Nora Hicks of Geary, Oklahoma; five sisters: Fay Sheffield of Cleburne, Texas; Inze Brack and Lida Brack of Geary, Oklahoma; Christine King of Pocola, Oklahoma; and Jerlene Marchant of Oklahoma City; four brothers, Robert of Harrah, Oklahoma; and Raymond, Ammon and Cecil, all of Geary, and three grandchildren.
