FUNERAL NOTICE - HAAS, LYDIA MAE (WEIGAND) 1897-1952
The funeral services for Mrs. Dave Haas were held Monday, April 28th, 1952 at the Zion Baptist Church, conducted by Rev. W. H. Shoot, Pastor of the Okeene Church of God. Keller and Landes Funeral Homer were in charge of arrangements. Mrs. Haas suffered a stroke on April 21, and was taken to the Okeene Municipal Hospital. She never regained consciousness and died 5 days later. She had suffered a light stroke some time before. Obituary follows:
OBITUARY - HAAS, LYDIA MAE (WEIGAND) 1897-1952
Lydia Weigand, daughter of John and Eva Elizabeth Weigand was born in Marion, Kansas, on October 16, 1897. She was united in marriage to Dave W. Haas of Okeene, on February 28, 1917. To this union were born 3 sons and 2 daughters: Raymond D. of San Diego, California; Kenneth R. of Los Angeles, California, and Roy L. of Okeene, Oklahoma, Mrs. Darlene Brown of San Diego, California, and Ms. Lorene Haas of Okeene, Oklahoma. She is also survived by 2 step daughters: Mrs. Helen Metzler of San Diego, California and Mrs. Bernice Emmons of Frederick, Oklahoma; 3 grand children, 4 step-grandchildren, 1 great-grandchild, 6 sisters: Mrs. Mary Dusbabek and Ms. Lida Bisel of Okeene, Oklahoma, Mrs. Martha Gottschalk and Mrs. Anna Brown of Oklahoma City, Mrs. Hannah Biesel of Kingfisher, Oklahoma, Mrs. Evelyn Ditlow of Kansas City, Kansas, and 1 brother: Dave Weigand of Midwest City, Oklahoma. Early after their marriage, Mrs. Haas was united with the Church of God and has been a consistant Christian since. She was a kind and loving mother, always devoted to her family.
