HAFFNER, JACOB B. 1893-1939
J. B. HAFFNER DIES FROM HEART TROUBLE - J. B. Haffner died at his farm home southeast of Hitchcock, Tuesday night, June 20, 1939 at the age of 45 years, 6 months, and 11 days. He had suffered from heart trouble and been in poor health for the past six months. He was born in Hitchcock, Oklahoma December 9, 1893. He was baptized in 1910 and became a member of the Seventh Day Adventist Church of Omega and was a faithful member of that church until his death. He served as deacon and church treasurer of his church for a number of years. At the age of 17 he attended the German Seminary at Clinton, Missouri for three years. He was united in marriage to Katie Baker on October 25, 1913. To this union two daughters were born, Emma and Olinda, both at home. He is survived by his widow, Katie Haffner, two daughters, Emma and Olinda; three brothers: Dave Haffner of Hitchcock; Carl Haffner of Okeene; John Haffner of Hitchcock; one sister Mrs. Hulda Lucas of Hitchcock; and many other relatives and friends. Funeral services were held Saturday afternoon in the Omega Seventh Day Adventist Church, conducted by Rev. C. D. Hein, pastor of the Okeene Seventh Day Adventist Church.
