Funeral services for Howard Edward Haffner, 72, who died Monday, December 21, 1992, at an Enid hospital, were Thursday, December 24, 1992 at St. John's United Church of Christ, Okeene. The Rev. Van Herd officiated. Burial was in the Ebenfeld Cemetery, near Okeene, under direction of Wilkinson Mortuary. He was born February 3, 1920, at Okeene to David E. and Helen E. Miles Haffner and had lived in that area all of his life. He attended Okeene Schools and was engaged in farming and cattle trucking. He also was on the Liberty School Board. On August 3, 1940, he married Mabel Karbs in the parsonage of the Evangelical and Reformed Church at Okeene. Surviving are his wife; a son, Robert, Okeene, two daughters, Judy Worley, Oklahoma City, and Sharon Mullins, Canton; a sister, Doris Ruth, Shelbyville, Texas; five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
