Funeral service for Genella Marjory Houston, 70, who died December 8th, 2001 at her home in Emporia, Kansas will be at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, December 31st, 2001 at Aline United Methodist Church officiated by Rev. Lyle Shipley. Burial will be in Pleasant Ridge Cemetery near Aline, Oklahoma. Arrangements are by Lanman Funeral Home of Helena, Oklahoma. Genella was born September 9th, 1931 near Aline, Oklahoma, the daughter of Frank Goss, Sr. and Mollie (Young) Goss. On May 31, 1952 she married Donald Houston at Alva, Oklahoma. She was a homemaker. She was a member of Lowry-Funston # 1980 Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxillary and Emporia Ball-McColm Post # 5 American Legion Auxillary. Genella is survived by her husband, Don of Emporia, Kansas; one son, Joe Houston of Emporia, Kansas; one daughter, Georgianna Widmer of Topeka, Kansas; her father, Frank Goss, Sr. of Aline, Oklahoma; two brothers, Bill Goss and Frank Goss, Jr. both of Aline, Oklahoma; four sisters: Virginia Kinney of Aline, Oklahoma; Dorthy Stallings of Alva, Oklahoma; Georgie Haltom of Enid, Oklahoma; and Mary Peters of Seiling, Oklahoma; five grandchildren and one great-grandchild. She was preceded in death by her mother, Mollie; one sister, Pearl Cravens; two nephews and one niece. Memorials may be made to Hand in Hand Hospice in Emporia, Kansas or Pleasant Ridge Cemetery Association through Lanman Funeral Home of Helena.
