HAIGLER, GLENACE B. (SNYDER) 1919-2002
Glenace B. Haigler was born June 6, 1919 west of Canton, Oklahoma to Wheeler and Bessie Snyder and passed away Sunday, March 17, at the age of 82. She was a resident of the Watonga area her entire life. Glenace began her teaching career in 1942 at Broadview and retired in 1981 after teaching for 38 years in the communities of Carlton, Southard, Canton, Geary, and Watonga. She attended and graduated from Canton High School. Glenace received her Bachelors of Science in 1952 and her Masters of Education in 1964 from Southwestern Oklahoma State University. She was baptized in Canton at the Methodist Church on December 24, 1950 and was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Watonga. Glenace was a member of the Blaine County Retired Teachers, the Watonga Book Review Club, the Daughters of the American Revolution, and the Watonga Community Education Advisory Council. She was married to George M. Haigler at Okeene, Oklahoma on September 7, 1938. Her parents, her husband, one brother Wayne Snyder, and one grandson, Derek Webb, preceded her in death. Glenace is survived by: one daughter, Betty Jeanne Webb of Watonga, Oklahoma; one grandson, Brandon Webb and wife Cari of Canton, Oklahoma; one granddaughter, Shannon Leseney and husband Jon of Hastings; and three great grandsons as well as numerous other relatives and friends. Funeral services for Glenace Haigler was held on Wednesday, March 20 at 10:00 a.m. at the First United Methodist Church in Watonga, Oklahoma with Rev. Rob Harris officiating. Burial followed in the I.O.O.F. Cemetery in Watonga with Wilkinson Mortuary of Watonga in charge of arrangements.
