FUNERAL NOTICE - GEIS, WILLIAM 1895-1985
Funeral services for William Geis, 89, a lifetime resident of the Okeene community, were held Monday, July 8th, 1985 at 10 a.m. in the Zion Baptist Church with the Rev. Leland Friesen officiating. Burial was in the Roselawn Cemetery under the direction of Wilkinson Mortuary. Geis died Thursday, July 5th, 1985 in the Okeene Hospital following a lengthy illness. He was born July 22, 1895 near Okeene and attended the Deep Creek School. He married Hannah Laubach on May 6th, 1920 southwest of Okeene. He was engaged in farming until his retirement in 1963. Geis was a veteran of World War I and a member of the Zion Baptist Church where he served as a deacon and a Sunday School teacher. Survivors include his wife, Hannah; a daughter, Maxine Davidson of Waynoka, Oklahoma; two sons: Willis and Weldon, both of Okeene, Oklahoma; a brother, Harry Geis of Enid, Oklahoma; four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, an infant daughter, three brothers, and three sisters. Memorials in his name may be made to the Zion Baptist Church or to the Okeene Hospital.
