IN MEMORY OF ESSIE MAE (HURSH) GRAHAM 1890-1981
Funeral services were conducted Tuesday, July 21st 1981 in the First United Methodist Church in Watonga, Oklahoma for Essie Mae Graham, who died Saturday, July 18th, 1981 at Hillcrest Nursing Home in Watonga at age 90. Mrs. Graham was born December 22nd, 1890 in Spencerville, Indiana to Alice and Isaac Newton Hursh and came with her family to the Watonga area, where she went to school She and Frank Graham were married on January 1st, 1908 and they became the parents of four children. Her husband, Frank; her parents, and five brothers and sisters preceded her in death. Survivors include two sons, Vernon Graham of Watonga, Oklahoma; and Raymond Herschel Graham of Stephenville, Texas; two daughters: Vergie Wray of Hitchcock, Oklahoma; and Lahoma Justice of Watonga, Oklahoma; one brother, Paul Hursh of Watonga, Oklahoma; two sisters, Lula Spear and Alice Weir of Monahans, Texas; eight grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren and 12 great-great-grandchildren. The Rev. Douglas Passmore and the Rev. Richard Hedger officiated at the rites, which were concluded at the Watonga I.O.O.F. Cemetery with Wilkinson Mortuary in charge of arrangements.
