Billy Raymond Goforth, 83, of Melbourne, Florida, passed away December 26th, 2002 at Homes Regional Medical Center. Services were held on Saturday, December 28th, 2002 at the Florida Memorial Funeral Home. Billy was born on March 1st, 1919 to Floyd and Bertie (Eakins) Goforth in Homestead, Blaine County, Oklahoma. He graduated from the Okeene High School in 1937. Billy joined the Air Force in 1939, and was stationed in Japan. He retired from the Air Force in 1961. Billy married Gayle Scott Eakins on January 30th, 1943. They moved to Melbourne, Florida where Billy went to work for Bendix Corporation. He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Gale Goforth; daughters Cheryl Luce and Ramonda Shannon, both of Melbourne, Florida; four brothers: Duane Goforth of Miami, Oklahoma; Durwood Goforth of Okeene, Oklahoma; Jerry Goforth of Miami, Oklahoma; and Gayle Goforth of Perry, Oklahoma; one sister: Maxine Wintermute of Rialto, California; five grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
