CLAFLIN - Emma Clara Friebus, 88, died January 7th, 1994, at Central Kansas Medical Center, St. Rose Campus, Great Bend, Kansas. She was born October 9th, 1905, at Holyrood, the daughter of Frederick and Julia (Chrisbens) Galliart. A Claflin resident since 1959, moving from Wilson, Kansas, she was a homemaker. She was a member of the Zion Lutheran Church, and the Ladies Aid, both of Claflin. On October 27th, 1927, she married Carl C. Friebus at Holyrood. He died March 12, 1968. Survivors include: a son, Paul of Claflin; a daughter, Clara Sayfert of Hunter; three granddaughters: seven great-grandchildren; a step-great-grandchild; and two step-great-grandchildren. Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at the Zion Lutheran Church, Claflin, with Pastor Arlo Lehmann presiding. Friends may call from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Wednesday at Nicholson-Ricke Funeral Home, Hoisington, Kansas, and 9 a.m. until service time Thursday at the church. Burial will be in the Claflin Cemetery, Claflin, Kansas. Memorials may be sent to the church, or to the Claflin Ambulance Service, both in care of the funeral home.
