CAMPBELL, MONA (VOGT) 1908-1996
OKEENE - The funeral for Mona Vogt Campbell, 88, will be at 3 p.m. Sunday, at the Zion Baptist Church, Okeene, Oklahoma, with the Rev. Monte Michaelson officiating. Burial will follow in the Roselawn Cemetery, Okeene, Oklahoma under the direction of Wilkinson Mortuary of Okeene. She was born March 9th, 1908 at Fairview to Louis Fred and Martha Louise (Geis) Vogt and died Thursday, August 22, 1996 at Okeene. She spent her childhood in Okeene, where she attended school and became a member of the Zion Baptist Church. She married Tom Campbell on March 26th, 1945 in Garber, Oklahoma. During the 1930's and 1940's she operated a restaurant in Garber and Crescent. She and her husband moved to Elizabeth, Arkansas, where she helped organize and build the Elizabeth Baptist Church. She was a very active member servicing as church clerk and treasurer and taught Sunday School and Vacation Bible School for several years. She is survived by three sisters: Elma Laubach of Edmond, Oklahoma, Hilda Dumler of Norman, Oklahoma; and Estella Wehrenberg of Wichita, Kansas. She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, four brothers, and one sister. Memorial contributions may be made to the Zion Baptist Church Building Fund.
