Funeral services for James Ray "Jim" Crain, 70, who died Tuesday, October 15th, 2002 at his home in Goltry, Oklahoma were held Saturday, October 19th, 2002 at the First Congregational United Church of Christ in Goltry, Oklahoma with Rev. Norman Cullumber officiating. Burial followed at Karoma Cemetery near Goltry, Oklahoma. Arrangements are by Lanman Funeral Home, Inc. of Helena, Oklahoma. Jim was born on December 3rd, 1931 to William Harold and Edna Mae (Lawyer) Crain on the homestead farm, two miles west and two miles north of Goltry, Oklahoma. He graduated from Goltry High School in 1949. In 1953 he married Patsy Jane Wright. He served in the U.S. Navy from 1942-1956, teaching pilot training in flight simulators. He served as a rural mail carrier for Goltry for 29 ½ years and also farmed. He attended the First Congregational United Church of Christ in Goltry. Survivors include his wife, Patsy of Goltry; three sons: Bruce & wife JoAnne of Enid, Oklahoma; Ron & wife Barbara of Goltry, Oklahoma; and Kirby of Dallas, Texas; two brothers: Bill and Charlie of Goltry, Oklahoma; nine grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two children. Memorials may be made to American Cancer Society or the First Congregational United Church of Christ through Lanman Funeral Home, Inc.
