The funeral for Velma Mae Bernard, 82, will be 2 p.m. Tuesday in the chapel of Henninger-Allen Funeral Home. The Rev. Ed Summers will officiate. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery.
She was born Sept. 9, 1916, at Guthrie to Elmer and Rachel Nusz Dusbabek and died Thursday, Feb. 18, 1999.
She attended school at Okeene and Hitchcock and was baptized in the Okeene Church of God.
On Dec. 14, 1933, she married August "Gus" Eberhardt.
On Dec. 1, 1955, she married Jesse "Jack" Bernard. They lived in Enid. She was a waitress and cook in the Enid area, retiring from Enid State School in 1982. She was a Camp Fire leader for several years.
Surviving are her husband, Jesse of the home; two daughters, Andina 'Ann' Weber of Fairview and Debra Lounsbury of Enid; two sisters, Ruth Schaffler and Henrietta Fleshman, both of Enid; three brothers, Raymond of Sheldon, Mo., Victor of Carney and James of Buckeye, Ariz.; one half brother, Alan Dusbabek of Arlington, Texas; seven grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by one son, one grandson and two sisters.
Memorials may be made through the funeral home to Hospice, Circle of Love and/or Oklahoma Medical Research Foundation, Cancer Division.
