OKEENE - A memorial service for Ralph P. Brickman will be Friday, January 14, 2000 at 10:30 a.m. in the First United Methodist Church in Okeene, officiated by Rev. Travis Hopper and Rev. Bennett Peters. There will be a private family burial later in the day in Roselawn Cemetery under the direction of Lanman Funeral Home of Okeene. He was born March 5, 1920 at Okeene, Oklahoma to Arne and Clara (Kerns) Brickman and died January 9, 2000 at the Okeene Hospital. He attended Liberty Country School then graduated from Homestead High School. He lived most of his live in the Okeene area as a farmer-rancher, except while serving in the United States Navy during World War II. He married Anna Lou White in 1939 and to this marriage one son, Larry Ralph was born. In 1946 he married Gladys Ruth Lorenz and they were married for 52 years. He is survived by one son, Larry and wife, Bobbie of Lynnwood, Washington; one step-daughter, Gail Kristaponis of Okeene, Oklahoma; two sisters: Suzy and husband Warren Carter of Okeene, Oklahoma, Alice and husband Vernone Reames of Okeene, Oklahoma; grandchildren: Lisa and husband David Detrixhe of Okeene, Oklahoma, Shelly Kristaponis of Austin, Texas, Lorrie and husband, Wally Phelps of Woodinville, Washington, and Lonnie and wife, Cristen Brickman of Stillwater, Oklahoma; great-grandchildren: Dara and Garrett Detrixhe of Okeene, Oklahoma and Annie Phelps of Woodinville, Washington. He was preceded in death by his wife of 52 years, Gladys; his parents; one infant brother and infant twin sisters. Memorials may be made through Lanman Funeral Home to Hospice Circle of Love of Enid, Oklahoma, Medical Research for Alzheimer's or Cancer Research.
