BRIDGES, LOVESTA (DAVIS) 1909-1981
Funeral services for Lovesta Bridges, 72, will be held at 2 p.m., Saturday, May 9th, 1981 in the Union Baptist Church. The Rev. O. J. Neal will officiate, and interment will be in the Macedonia Cemetery under the direction of Russworm Funeral Home. A life-long resident of Blaine County, she was born to Henry and Sullie Davis on August 24th, 1909 in the Emanuel community. She died Saturday, May 2nd, 1981 in the Watonga Municipal Hospital. In 1928 she married Sidney Bridges in Watonga, Oklahoma. She was a housewife and a member of the United Baptist Church and the Missionary Society. Her husband, a daughter and a son preceded her in death. Survivors include eight children: Hawley Bridges and Sidney L. Bridges, Jr., both of Santa Clara, California; Johnnie M. Buchannon and Marilyn A. Douglas, both of Watonga, Oklahoma; and Thelma C. Mewborn, Lamar C. Bridges, Clyde Steve Bridges and Jo Ann Watson, all of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; 21 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and two brothers: Richard Davis of Watonga, Oklahoma; and Roosevelt Davis of Spencer, Oklahoma.
