Funeral services for Katlyn Marie Biggs, 8-year old Enid resident, services were held Wednesday, October 23rd, 2002 in the St. Paul's Lutheran Church with the Rev. Kenneth Wade officiating. Burial followed in the Zion Lutheran Cemetery, Lahoma, Oklahoma under the direction of Anderson-Burris Funeral Home. Katlyn was born on December 2, 1993 in Okeene, Oklahoma to Kevin and Angie Ann (Wiegand) Biggs and died on October 19th, 2002 in the Children's Hospital in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. She was a 3rd grader at St. Paul's Lutheran School and a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church. She enjoyed roller skating, riding her scooter, listening to music, signing, cheerleading, camping, bicycling, playing pool, playing basketball, swimming, fishing, asking questions, playing with friends, and spending time with her family. Katlyn enjoyed spending time with her father, Kevin Biggs, but disliked her dad's rattlesnakes. She was preceded in death by great grandparents, Albina Biggs, Jewel & Dora Duncan, Alvin & Evelyn Weigand, and Alfred Holsten. She is survived by her loving mother and step-father, Angie and Kevin Holsten of the home; her father, Kevin Biggs of Okeene, Oklahoma; three sisters: Darci Biggs of Waukomis, Oklahoma; Lindsay Biggs of Okeene, Oklahoma; and Natalie Holsten of the home; grandparents LeRoy and JoAnn Biggs of Hitchcock, Oklahoma; Joyce Lorenz of Watonga, Oklahoma; Tom and Doris Weigand of Bison, Oklahoma; and Harley Holsten of Waukomis, Oklahoma; great grandparents, Deak & Louise Rohling of Watonga, Oklahoma; and Dorothy Holsten of Enid, Oklahoma; uncles, aunts, cousins, and many friends. Memorials may be made to the St. Paul's Lutheran School through Anderson-Burris Funeral Home. A terrible tragedy hit area residents on Friday, October 18th, 2002 when a two-vehicle accident occurred on a county road southwest of Okeene, Oklahoma. A 1990 Pontiac driven by Lindsey Biggs was hit by Bobby J. Rush, who was driving a 1993 Ford Pickup. According to reports, Rush died at the scene. Katlyn Biggs was a passenger in the 1990 Pontiac driven by her older sister. Lindsey and Katlyn Biggs were transported by helicopter to the University of Oklahoma Medical Center in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Both suffered head and internal injuries. O.H.P. reported that Katlyn Biggs died on Saturday from her injuries. Her sister, Lindsey, who lives in Okeene, remains in critical condition at the University of Oklahoma Medical Center in OKC.
