BLEHM, GOTTFRIED F. 1896-1983
MEADE - Gottfried F. Blehm, 86, died suddenly July 23, 1983, at Meade Hospital. Born October 18,1896 in south Russia, Mr. Blehm came to the United States in 1900 and to Meade, Oklahoma in 1919. He was married to Hannah Borchers on January 29, 1922 in Meade, Oklahoma. A farmer-businessman, Mr. Blehm operated a shoe repair business in Meade since 1942 and was active until the time of his death. He was a veteran of World War I and a member of St. John Lutheran Church of Meade. He is survived by his wife, of the home; two sons: Paul and Richard, both of Meade, Oklahoma; four daughters: Myra Kurth of Offerle; Katherine Borger and Elsie Porter, both of Meade, Oklahoma; and Wilma Holmes of Hesston, Kansas; one brother, Dave of Liberal, Kansas; 25 grandchildren, and 14 great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the church with the Rev. Lynn Spencer officiating. Burial will be at the Stone School House Cemetery, Meade, Oklahoma. Filder-Orme Mortuary of Meade is in charge of arrangements. As printed in the "MEADE" newspapers.
