HOISINGTON - Fern Marie Becker, 77, died November 25, 1997 at Christian Care Retirement Centger, Chickasha, Oklahoma. She was born December 20, 1919, at Toronto, Kansas, the daughter of James and Flossie Wilson Cheever. A Hoisington resident for 25 years, moving to Christian Care Retirement Center in July 1997, she was a homemaker. On May 5, 1938, she married Ernest M. Becker at Hutchinson, Kansas. He survives. Other survivors include: a son, William R. Becker of Creve Couer, Illinois; a daughter, Sandra Sue Coley of Anadarko, Oklahoma; a stepson, Carl Becker of Bartonville, Illinois; a brother, Floyd Cheever of Oklahoma City; nine grandchildren and five step-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by four brothers: Junior, Larry, Raymond and Wayne Cheever, and three sisters: Hazel Scott, Ethel Shaner, and Loretta Reed. Funeral will be at 3:30 p.m. Saturday at Nicholson-Ricke Funeral Home, Hoisington, with the Rev Gary Clark presiding. Friends may call from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Friday and from 9 a.m. to service time Saturday at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Hoisington Cemetery.
