OKEENE - Funeral services for Fern Beckwith, 94, who died Tuesday, October 30, 2001 at Greenbrier Nursing Home in Enid were held on Friday, November 2, 2001 at Cleo Springs Christian Church with Pastor Connie Schlarb and Pastor Roy Wahlgren officiating. Burial followed at Pleasant Ridge Cemetery southwest of Aline. Arrangements were by Lanman Funeral Home of Helena. Fern was born September 8, 1907 near Cleo Springs, the daughter of Henry Clifford and Christina Mary Corneilson Salladay. She and Orval Ent were married in February 1930 and he preceded her in death in May 1946. Then on December 16, 1955 Fern and John Beckwith were married and he also preceded her in death May 29, 2000. Fern was a homemaker who hobbies were quilting and baking. She loved to crochet and sew and was a member of the Sew-and-Sew Club for a number of years. She was also a Cub Scout Co-Leader at one time. She was a member of Elm Flat Christian Church, which she had joined as a teenager. After Fern and Orval Ent were married they lived a number of years in Watonga. The rest of her life was spent living in the Cleo Springs area. She is survived by her children, Virginia May (Deed) and husband, Robert Jones of Enid; Dixie Lee and husband, Wendell Beckwith of Cleo Springs; Anna Marie and husband Bill Galusha of Enid; Mildred Faye (Millie) and husband, Ernie Rader of Alva; Walter Leroy (Jack) Ent and wife, Carol of Ringwood; Harold Keith and wife, Peggy Ent of Carmen; and Howard Kaye Ent of Aline; thirty-four grandchildren; eighty-four great-grandchildren; and fourteen great-great-grandchildren. In addition to both husbands, she was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, four sisters, and one infant son.
