RUSSELL, KANSAS - Bertha E. Becker, 90, died October 17, 1988, at Hays, Kansas. Born Bertha E. Steinert, August 15, 1898, in Russell County, she married Emanuel Becker October 21, 1916, at Milberger, Kansas. He died October 20, 1972. A homemaker, she was a resident of Russell since 1947. She was a member of the United Emmanuel Lutheran Church, Milberger, Kansas. Survivors: son, LaVern of Russell, Kansas; daughter, Elaine Earlywine of LaPort, Indiana; sisters: Vera Streck of Galatia, Kansas; Amanda Dumler of Winfield, Kansas; nine grandchildren; and 11 great grandchildren. Funeral will be 2 p.m. today at the United Emmanuel Lutheran Church, Milberger, Kansas, the Rev. Carl W. Dietz will be officiating. Burial will be in the Milberger Cemetery. Memorials may go to the church or to the St. John's Nursing Home of Hays for the All Faith Chapel.
