SEWARD - Alan R. Becker, 49, died June 27, 1997 at Iola Hospital. He was born February 17, 1948, at Russell, the son of Ernest and Marie Cheever Becker. A resident of Seward for 18 years, moving from Hoisington, he owned Alan Becker Trucking. He was a member of Veteran's of Foreign Wars Post No. 7428, Hoisington. He was a U.S. Marine veteran of the Vietnam War. Survivors include: a son, Raymond of Seward, Kansas; a daughter, Michalle Holt of Wichita, Kansas; parents from Great Bend, Kansas; two brothers: Bill and Carl, both of Peoria, Illinois; a sister Sandra Coley of Anadarko, Oklahoma; and a grandson. Funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Nicholson-Ricke Funeral Home, Hoisington, with the Rev. Dick Ogle presiding. Friends may call from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. today and from 9 a.m. until service time Tuesday at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Hoisington Cemetery, with military rites. Memorials may be sent to Great Bend Motorplex in care of the funeral home.
