2000MAYSWord was received of the death of Amelia Carlisle MAYS, who passed away at her home in Roswell, New Mexico, on October 13, 1999. She was born June 9, 1918, at Greenland, Arkansas, the daughter of Inez and Albert CARLISLE.
She graduated from Westville High School in 1935 and married Ralph MAYS in Stilwell in 1941.
Survivors include one son, Waymon, of New Mexico; one brothers, Parks, of Arkansas; two nieces, Tanya, of Arizona and Cherie, of Arkansas.ESSARYBilly Ray ESSARY, son of Shelby Dow ESSARY and Naomi PATTERSON ESSARY, was born December 20, 1942, in Stilwell and departed this life to be with our Lord Tuesday, December 28, 1999 at Good Shepherd Medical Center in Longview, Texas, after a long and courageous battle with leukemia.
Billy was married to Joanne SITTON on September 8, 1961 and to this union were born two sons, Danny and Gary. Bill and his family moved to Longview, Texas, in 1976 where he was employed with Kroger Foods as a meat cutter and market manager for the past 30 years. He was preceded in death by his father, in 1998.
He is survived by his wife of the home in Texas; mother, Naomi, of Oklahoma; two sons, Danny, of Kansas, and Gary, of Texas; two brothers, James and Jim, of Oklahoma; and eight grandchildren, Meagan, Daniel, Jeffery, Sean, Shelby, Leah, Samuel and Nathan.
Funeral was held Monday, January 3, 2000 in the Roberts/Reed-Culver Funeral Home Chapel. Onva was married to Joy GLADDEN on March 9, 1968, in Stilwell. She was a homemaker and a seamstress and enjoyed working in her garden and quilting.
She was preceded in death by her parents; one son, Leonard SKITT; two brothers, Harve RAMSEY and Wendell RAMSEY; and two sisters, Frances ROSS and Dessie HANNAH.
She is survived by her husband; two sons, Steve and Robert, of Oklahoma; two daughters, Sharon and Norma, of California; three sisters, Ruby, of Oklahoma, Alyene, of Michigan and Margaret, of California; nine grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren and one great great grandchild.
Funeral services were Sunday, January 2, 2000, in the Roberts/Reed-Culver Funeral Home Chapel in Stilwell with Pastor Newel POTEET officiating. Tarlton was married to Ethel STUFFLEBEAM on February 11, 1929 in Stilwell and to this union were born six children, Elmer, Viola, Ella Mae, Mildred, Deloris and Joyce. He was employed with the Stilwell Canning Factory in 1950 until his retirement. He was a member of the Freewill Holiness Church.
He was preceded in death by both parents; his wife Ethel on May 13, 1999; six brothers, Carl, Arie, John, Cecil, Harvey and George and two sisters, Grace BOLINGER and Lena ROSE.
He is survived by one son, Elmer, of Texas; five daughters, Viola, of Oklahoma, Ella Mae, Mildred and Deloris, of California and Joyce, of Texas; 14 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren.

Graveside services were held for Devin Robert Bryant ARMSTRONG, 14 year old, on Friday, July 28, at 2:00 p.m., at the Old Green Cemetery, in Westville with Rev. Bobby HOGAN officiating.
Devin was born April 8, 1986 in Fort Smith, Arkansas, to Sharon Kay ARMSTRONG.
He was a 9th grade student at Muldrow Public School.
Survivors are his mother; a sister, La Tandra; maternal grandmother, Bonnie Faye; materal great grandmother, Lois; and David and Patricia, all of Oklahoma.COON
Nelson COON, 64, passed away on July 23, 2000. Nelson was born March 23, 1936 in Stilwell to Turtle "Taylor" and Ida Mae COON. Mr. COON was a book binder.
He was a member of Beaver Street Baptist Church and served his country in the U.S. Navy.
He is survived by his loving wife, Carolyn; daughter Wendy and husband, Scott; son, Brett and wife, Jennifer; 4 grandchildren, Haley, Jacob, Sydney and Blake; sister Lela all of Oklahoma.
Mr. COON was preceded in death by brothers, George, Riley and Carl COON.

Essie Pearl JACKSON was born October 18, 1922 in Mayfield, Oklahoma, to Elijah RUTLEDGE and Nellie WHITEHEAD RUTLEDGE. She departed this life July 27, in Siloam Springs, Arkansas, at the age of 77 years 9 months and 9 days.
She was a housewife and was of the Pentecostal faith. On December 24, 1964, Essie was married to John William JACKSON in Law Vegas, Nevada. John preceded her in death on March 2, 1988.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; two sons, Dan and Bert LOVETT and one sister, Alice RUNBECK.
Essie is survived by four children; Lola of Arizona, Jimmy of Oklahoma, Jack of Washington, and Paula of Virginia; numberous grandchildren and great grandchildren; three sisters, Alma of California; Dixie and Nellie of Oklahoma; five brothers, Bill, Bud, Frank, Roy and Troy, all of Oklahoma; and her step mother, Eveline of Oklahoma.JOHNSON

He was a 2000 graduate of Pleasanton High School and was of the Baptist faith.
He was preceded in death of an uncle Gary TUNNELL.

Mary Lucinda SMALL was born January 4, 1908 in Morrow, Arkansas, to Andrew Jackson COX and Edna RATHER COX. She departed this life July 28 in Stilwell, at the age of 92 years, 6 months and 22 days.
She married Earl Alexander SMALL on February 28, 1926 in Evansville. From 1958 to 1965, she and her husband owned and operated Earl's Drive Inn just north of Stilwell. Mrs. SMALL was saved in her home at age 16 and rededicated her life to God at age 33. She was a faithful member of the First Baptist Church for many years and later a member of Rock Springs Baptist Church and Calvary Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Earl on April 3, 1983; her infant son, Roy Lee in 1931 and her daughter Dorothy Mildred ROQUEMORE on December 21, 1999 in Techachapi, California.
Surviving children are: Ray, Lawrence and Sandra of Oklahoma, Lavonne of Alaska and Lois of Arizona; She is also survived by 15 grandchildrfen and 22 great grandchildren.SMITH
Tact William SMITH, son of Abe SMITH and Elsie William HARRIS SMITH was born April 2, 1923 in Fort Smith, Arkansas, and departed this life to be with our Lord, Saturday, July 22 at Memorial Hospital in Stilwell at the age of 77 years, 3 months and 19 days.
Tact was married to Doris Margaret CRAGG on March 10, 1943 and to this union were born six children; Benny, Charles, Phillip, Steve, Ruby and Judy. He worked for a number of years as a heavy equipment offerator before retirement and served his country proudly in the U.S. Army in 1943.
He is preceded in death by both paretns, Abe and Elsie SMITH, his wife Doris SMITH and one brother, Clarence SMITH.
He is survived by: four sons, Benny, Charles, and Steve of Oklahoma and Phillip of Arkansas; two daughters, Ruby of Oklahoma and Judy of Arkansas; two brothers, A.B. and Dewayne of Arkansas; four sisters, Dorothy and Mamie of Arkansas, Gladys of Oklahoma and Barbara of California; fifteen grandchildren, and six great grandchildren.

Faynell was born August 30, 1926 to Melvin and Edna JACKSON SMITH in Cincinnati, Arkansas, and departed this life September 1, 2000 at the age of 74 years and 2 days at her home in San Jose, California. Faynell was married to Cleburn F. "Sweed" HILL in January 1946. He preceded her in death on August 30, 1998.
She is survived by one son, Rodney; one grandson, Rodney, Jr.,; two granddaughters, Mamie and Erin; and three great grandchildren, all of California; one brother, Billy Jack; and sisters-in-law, Vernice, Kitty and Pauline, of Oklahoma.
Faynell touched the lives of those who knew her through her faith and love for God. She was a gracious leader in the P.E.O. Women's Society and an active member and contributor to the Center for Spiritual Living for forty years.DAVIDSON

Jacqueline was a dedicated member of the Pentecostal holiness Church and attended as long as her health permitted.
She was preceded in death by both parents; one brother, James WILLIAMS and two infant brothers and one infant sister.
She is survived by three sons, Ray and Jay, of Oklahoma, and Randall, of Missouri; one brother, Glen, of Georgia; five grandchildren, Linzy, Tyler, Dillion, Aerial and Frankie; one aunt, Elleta; and one uncle, Raymond, of Oklahoma.

Interment followed at the Beaver Cemetery under the direction of Hart Funeral Home of Stilwell. Joe Lynn SCOTT Jr., was born October 15, 1979 in Oklahoma City to Joe Lynn SCOTT Sr. and Evelyn BEAVER. He departed this life, September 4, in Cherokee County at the age of 20 years, 10 months and 20 days. He was employed with Tyson Foods and was a student at the American Institute of Indian Art in Santa Fe, New Mexico.
Joe was a member of the Central Baptist Church in Stilwell.
He was preceded in death by his grandmother, Linda JONES, his step-grandfather, Levi JONES; his grandfather Les SCOTT; one uncle, Runaway BEAVER; and his great grandparents, Frank and Polly VANN ROSS, and Arleecher John BEAVER and Narcie SCRAPER BEAVER; cousins, Kimmie SPRINGWATER and Bruce DAUGHERTY.

George Washington FOURKILLER, son of Larkin FOURKILLER and Linnie FIELDS FOURKILLER was born December 8, 1907 in Stilwell and departed this life Friday, September 8, at Stilwell Nursing Home at the age of 92 years, 7 months and 30 days.
He is preceded in death by both parents; one brother, Felix FOURKILLER; one sister and one infant daughter.
He is survived by two sons, J.C. and James; one step-son Silas; one step-daughter, Beverly, all of Oklahoma; eighteen grandchildren, and thirty great grandchildren.

Everett Louis MOTON was born May 13, 1947 to Clyde Clarence MOTON and Mildred Juanita COLLINS MOTON in Stilwell and departed this life for his eternal rest on Wednesday, August 30 at St. Francis Hospital in Tulsa at the age of 53 years, 3 months and 17 days. Louie graduated from Stilwell High School in May 1965.
He served his country proudly in the United States Army from January 16, 1968 to July 6, 1970 and was stationed in Germany for most of that time.
He was married to Patricia Ruth HUDSON on January 23, 1970 and to this union, three children were born. He was employed by Heater Specialist, Inc. of Tulsa at the time of his death. Louie's generosity and forth giving will allow his memory to live on in his many friends and family.
He was preceded in death by both parents; and two nephews, Clyde Clarence MOTON 111 and Michael Shawn CAMPBELL.
Louie is survived by his wife; two daughters, Tana and Brandi; a son, Everett Louis, Jr.; five grandsons, Jesse, Joshua, Jonathon, Dalton and Cole; two granddaughters, Angel and Constance; three sisters, Barbara and Hester [only two names given]; two brothers, Clyde Jr. and Tommie, all of Oklahoma.
Funeral services were held on September 1, at 10:00 a.m. in the First Assembly of God Church in Sand Springs with Rev. Bill ARMSTRONG officiating.

Andy TURN, son of William TURN and Lizzie PUMPKIN TURN was born April 12, 1916 in Baron and departed this life Saturday, September 2, at his home in Westville at the age of 84 years 2 months and 20 days.
Andy was married to Lillie WILLIAMS on November 18, 1937 and to this union were born six children, Dale, Elsie, Cathy, Becky, Charlene and Marlene.
He served his country proudly during World War 11 having served January 1944 through September 1945. He was injured two times during the war for which he received the Purple Heart. Andy was instrumental in founding two churches in his community.
He is preceded in death by both parents; two daughters, Charlene WINKLER and Marlene TURN; two brothers, Charles DOWNING and Ed TURN; and one sister, Betty SHEETS.
He is survived by his wife; one son, Dale; three daughters, Elsie, Cathy and Becky, all of Oklahoma; nine grandchildren, fourteen great grandchildren and one great great grandchild.
Funeral services were held Wednesday September 6, at 2:00 p.m. in the Roberts Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Paulette GOWER officiating.

Don was born June 13, 1946 in Tahlequah to Arthur SPRINGWATER and Jennie Mae BUNCH SPRINGWATER.
He departed this life September 25, 2000 in Claremore at the age of 54 years, 3 months and 12 days.
He served in the United States Army during Vietnam and was a construction worker.
In April of 1971, Don married Georgianna ROACH. To this union were born three daughters: Debbie, Marie and Zo Eunice SPRINGWATER.
Georgianna preceded him in death on February 5, 1987. Don was a member of the Chuculate Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his wife; his parents; one son, Johnny SPRINGWATER and one niece, Donna KAY.
Don is survived by four daughters: Rachel, Debbie and Maria, of Oklahoma; and Zo Eunice of Mississippi; eight grandchildren; and four sisters, Peggy, Emma, Kelly and Maudie, all of Oklahoma.HUGHES

Steven was born June 17, 1974 in Stilwell. He departed this life September 24 at the age of 26 years, 3 months and 7 days. He was a mechanic.
He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Jack HUGHES; his grandmother, Inola STUFFLEBEAM; his great grandparents, Charley and Nora STUFFLEBEAM; and an aunt, Sondra Kay STRONG.
He is survived by his mother and father: Kathy HUGHES and Bobby SANDERS; one sister, Kesha; two daughters, Mariah and Kay Lynn; two sons, Steven Duane and Steven Bobby, all of Oklahoma.O'NEAL
Walter Jim O'NEAL, 78, of Arkansas City, Kansas, died October 1 at his home. Funeral services were held 10:30 a.m. October 4 at the First Assembly of God Church with the Rev. James Newman officiating. Interment was in the Parker Cemetery.
Walter was born November 22, 1921 in Stilwell to Jess J. and Ida V. CLINTON O'NEAL.
He married Marcella Edith HOPKINS on March 14, 1942 in Stilwell where they made their first home. They moved to Arkansas City in June of 1952 and he began work with the New Era Flour Mill. Walter retired in 1987 after 35 years of service. He was a member of the First Assembly of God Church, Ark City Men's Bowling Association and bowled in several bowling leagues in the area for 38 years.
Walter is survived by three daughters: Charlene and Patsy of Kansas, and Peggy of Texas; two sons, Walter of Texas and Bobby Joe of Oklahoma; four sisters, Ruby, Della Mae, Florene and Maxine, all of Oklahoma; ten grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife Marcella in 1986; one grandson, Randy Lee JORDAN; and three brothers. A memorial has been established for Hospice, Inc.
