BYERS

Rosy Pauline BYERS, daughter of Jim LANE and Ollie GOLDMAN LANE was born June 13, 1922 in Stilwell, Oklahoma, and departed this life, January 5, 1999 at St. Francis Hospital in Tulsa, at the age of 76 years, 6 months and 21 days.
Pauline was married to James Monroe BYERS and to this union were born two children Quata and Wanda.
She was a homemaker and a faithful member of the First Baptist church for many years.
She is preceded in death by both parents, her husband, one brother J.C. LAND and one sister, Cherry JAYNES.
She is survived by: her two daughters both of Okla.; five grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren.
Graveside funeral services were held, Thursday, January 7, 1999 at 2:00 p.m. at the Ewing Chapel Cemetery in Stilwell with Bro. Roger HANEY of the First Baptist church officiating under the direction of Roberts/Reed-Culver Funeral Home of Stilwell.

EDGMON

Audie Carlton EDGMON of Mossville, Ark., passed away January 2, 1999. She was born at Pettigrew, Ark., on January 22, 1906. the was the daughter of Theo and Etta HAMMOND CARLTON.
She was preceded in death by her husband Ell EDGMON on Nov. 27, 1974, one son, Sylba EDGMON, two infant sons, two sister, Naomi ROBERTSON and Ruby DODGE, two brothers, Ray and Clarence CARLTON.
Survivors include one son, Jim of Ark.; four daughters Marilyn, of Calif., Modena of Okla., Betty and Effie, both of Ark.; 13 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, two sisters, Elva of Ark., and Jewell of Calif.; three brothers, Leonard and Robert of Ark., and Loren of Okla.
Services were held Wednesday, January 6, 1999 at Mossville United Baptist Church with Rev. Carlen Sparks officiating. Interment followed at Mossville cemetery under the direction of Hardwicke Funeral of Clarksville, Ark.

ERICKSON

Funeral services for Dollie Bell ERICKSON were held January 7, 1999 at the New Hope Baptist Church with Rev. Ralph CANNON and Rev. Claude MCGEE officiating. Burial was in the New Hope Cemetery in Chance, Oklahoma under the direction of Hart Funeral Home of Westville.
Dollie Bell ERICKSON was born June 17, 1912 in Westville, Oklahoma, to George and Ella SCOTT PARRIS. She departed this life January 4, 1999 in Tahlequah, at the age of 86 years, 6 months and 17 days.
She was a homemaker and a member of the Jaybird Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents; George and Ella PARRIS and 6 brothers and sisters.
Dollie is survived by: one son; Ottis; two brothers, Cline and Aron, all of Okla.

EUBANKS

Helen Mae EUBANKS, daughter of Tony SWAFFORD and Ada WATERS SWAFFORD was born May 24, 1923 in Dyer, Arkansas and departed this life, January 10, 1999 at Memorial Hospital in Stilwell, at the age of 75 years, 7 months and 16 days.
Helen was married to Lloyd EUBANKS on October 4, 1941 and to this union were born three children; J.C., Joann and Shirley.
She was a faithful member of the Wauhillau Free Holiness Church.
She is preceded in death by both parents, her husband, three brothers; Virgil, Homer and Chester (Pete) SWAFFORD, three sisters; Jessie PARKER, Lavelle VANZANT and Goldie SISCO.
She is survived by: one son, J.C. of Okla.; and two daughters, Joann of Okla. and Shirley of Ark.; three grandchildren, one brother and one sister.
Funeral services were held, Tuesday, January 12, 1999 in the Roberts/Reed-Culver Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Jackie PATTERSON and Bro. Jimmie VARNELL officiating. Interment will follow at the Spade Mountain Cemetery in Stilwell.

GIRDNER

Funeral services for John GIRDNER were held January 8, 1999 in Hart Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Bill ROUNDTREE and Bro. Bo WOLF officiating. Burial followed in the Hungry Mountain Cemetery.
Serving as pallbearers were: Bill CHRISTIE, Pug CHRISTIE, Jim ROBBINGS,Larry Joe STUDIE, Jack HOLLOWAY, Tim JOHNSON, and Harold WISDOM. Mr.GIRDNER'S nephews will serve as honorary pallbearers: Jug, Tub, Jim,Billy Roger and Red GIRDNER, Ronnie LASLEY, Jeff MORRIS and TerryHOGNER.
John GIRDNER was born on November 18, 1921 to William T. and Rosa FOUTCH GIRDNER at Hungry Mountain, Oklahoma. He departed this life on January 5, 1999 at Tahlequah City Hospital at the age of 77 years, 1 month and 17 days.
John was married to Rachel Ellen CRICKET on January 2, 1942.
He joined the United States Navy during World War 11 and served on the U.S.S. Constitution. John was a retired heavy equipment operator.
He is preceded in death by his parents; his wife; two children, Gerald and Rachel; two grandchildren Angela MYERS and Kendra GIRDNER, two brothers and one sister, Simon, Jake and Abigail.
He is survived by four sons, Harold, Dale, Jerry and John; four daughters, Sadie, Betty, Patty and Rita; two brothers, Leroy and Woodrow; two sisters, Patsy and Gladys, all of Okla.; 25 grandchildren; and 21 great-grandchildren.

MITCHELL

Funeral services for John Rutherford MITCHELL, of Jay, Oklahoma, Formerly of Westville, were held Friday, January 8, 1999 at the Hart Memorial Chapel in Westville with Rev. Larry STOOPS officiating. Interment followed in the Westville City Cemetery under the direction of Hart Funeral Home of Westville.
John Rutherford MITCHELL was born April 11, 1912 in Baxter Springs, Kansas to Clarence and Ruth BAILEY MITCHELL. He departed this life January 5, 1999 at St. John's Hospital in Joplin, Missouri, at the age of 86 years, 8 months and 24 days.
He was a veteran of World War 11 serving in the South Pacific. He was a retired farmer and antique dealer.
John was married to Leona Agnes SCANTLIN on April 2, 1949 in Bentonville, Arkansas. She preceded him in death on December 26, 1991. He was a member of the Methodist Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Clarence and Ruth MITCHELL and his wife Leona MITCHELL.
John is survived by two cousins, John of Okla., and Flora of Oregon; and three nephews, Kelly, Tim and David, all of Okla.

MULLIN

Funeral services for Millie Irene MULLIN were held January 8, 1999 at the Westville Pentecostal Holiness church with Rev. Audie VAUGHAN and Rev. C.E. DOYLE officiating. Burial followed in the Proctor Cemetery under the direction of Hart Funeral Home of Westville.
Millie Irene MULLIN was born December 5, 1901 in Benton Co., Arkansas, to Tom and Dellie HESS SISK. She departed this life Jnauary 4, 1999 in Siloam Springs, Arkansas, at the age of 97 years and 29 days.
She was married to Gerald MULLIN on September 14, 1919 in Watts, Oklahoma. Millie was a homemaker and was a member of the Clearfork Holiness Church.
She was preceded in death by: her parents, Tom and Dellie SISK; her husband, Gerald MULLIN; one son, James L. MULLIN, one daughter Charlene VANTASSEL, one granddaughter, Pamela MULLIN and one grandson, Mike MCMAHON.
Millie is survived by: five sons, Bert, Kermit and Dan of Okla., Ted and Arvin both of Calif.; three daughters, Geraldine, Glendolene and Maxine, all of Calif.; one half brother, Robert of Okla; 24 grandchildren, 44 great grand-children, and 17 great-great grandchildren.

SMITH

Juanita Famus SMITH, daughter of John KIMBLE and Rebecca MORGAN KIMBLE was born April 24, 1922 in Texas and departed this life January 5, 1999 at Memorial Hospital in Stilwell, at the age of 76 years, 8 months and 11 days.
Juanita was married to Johnny SMITH on August 3, 1943 and to this union were born six children; Bobby Joe, Jimmie Lee, Wanda, Janice, Sue and Mina Faye. She was of the Baptist faith.
She is preceded in death by both parents, husband, Johnny and one brother, Lowell KIMBLE, one step-brother, Albert TEAGUE, one daughter Mina Faye SMITH and one great-grandchild, Jessica PRICE.
She is survived by: two sons, Bobby Joe and Jimmie Lee; three daughters, Wanda, Janice and Sue; three brothers Thurman, Robert and Junior; 20 grandchildren, 36 great grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild.
Funeral services were held Friday, January 8, 1999 at the Bunch Baptist Church with Bro. Bobby COTHREN officiating. Interment will follow at the Bunch Cemetery under the direction of Roberts/Reed-Culver Funeral Home of Stilwell.

FIELDS

Funeral services for Badwater "Pete" FIELDS, 65 of Kansas, were held Wednesday, January 20, 1999 at Long Prairie Baptist Church with Rev. Robert NOFIRE and Rev. Chester CRITTENDEN officiating. Burial followed in the Long Prairie Cemetery under the direction of Reed-Culver Funeral Home of Tahlequah.
Pallbearers were Rev. Jessie WILLIAMS, Rev. Arch FOREMAN, Rev. DeWitt TEEHEE, Rev. D.J. MCCARTER, Rev. Gerald FIXIN and Rev. Jerry DRY. Honorary pallbearers will be Gary CRITTENDEN, Larry CRITTENDEN, Selvin FIELDS, Matthew FIELDS, and Joey FIELDS.
Mr. FIELDS was born July 26, 1933 in Blackfox Hollow, Delaware Co., Okla., the son of William and Elsie TEEHEE FIELDS and he died January 17, 1999 in Tulsa.
Mr. FIELDS attended Rowe Schools. Pete Married Frances SWAKE on Oct. 25, 1958 in Miami. He was an active member of the Foster Grandparent Program. He was a member of the Long Prairie Baptist Church in Kansas.
Mr. FIELDS was preceded in death by his parents; one son, Badwater FIELDS, Jr.; two grandsons; three brothers; and five sisters.
Survivors include his wife, Frances; one son, Richard of Okla.; six daughters, Rhonda, Bernice, Lana, Arlene and Diana, all of Okla. and Glenda of Mo.; one sister Rosie; 18 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.

HARMAN

Funeral services for Carolyn Rae HARMAN were held Wednesday, January 13, 1999 at the Hart Memorial Chapel in Westville with Rev. Darrel SELF officiating. Interment was in the Old Baptist Mission Cemetery under the direction of Hart Funeral Home of Westville.
Carolyn Rae HARMAN was born January 23, 1939 in Loma Linda, California, to Harry and Lula SEIFT JACOBSEN. She departed this life January 8, 1999 in Little Rock, Arkansas, at the age of 59 years, 11 months and 15 days.
She was a dental assistant and was a member of the Seventh Day Adventist in Lake Parris, California.
Carolyn was married to Charles HARMAN on March 28, 1965 in Loma Linda, California.
She was preceded in death by her parents. Carolyn is survived by her husband, Charles; one son, Fred of Ark.; one brother, Larry of Calif.; and one sister, Iris of Nevada.

RIDER

Graveside services for Jack B. RIDER, Jr. were held 10 a.m. Wednesday, January 20, 1999 at the Stilwell City Cemetery with Bro. Jack STEEL officiating. Services are under the direction of Hart Funeral Home of Stilwell.
Jack B. RIDER, Jr. was born March 3, 1916 in Marble City to Jack B. RIDER, Sr. and Sarah Zulah BEAN RIDER. He departed this life January 17, 1999 in Stilwell at the age of 82 years, 10 months and 14 days.
He was a retired heavy machine operator. Jack was married to Linnie ATCHELY in 1933 in Ft. Smith, Arkansas. She preceded him in death on May 17, 1994. He was of the Christian faith.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one son, one grandson, three brothers and two sisters. Jack is survived by one daughter, one grandson, two granddaughters, and two sisters.

WEAVER

Graveside services for John Hollis WEAVER were held Monday, January 18, 1999 at the Westville City Cemetery with Rev. Ralph CANNON officiating. Services are under the direction of Hart Funeral Home of Westville.
John Hollis WEAVER was born April 12, 1908 in Westville, Oklahoma, to Robert and Elizabeth CRONE WEAVER. He departed this life January 14, 1999 in Stilwell, Oklahoma, at the age of 90 years, 9 months and 2 days.
He was a farmer and was of the Pentecostal Holiness faith.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two sons, one grandson, four brothers and two sisters.
John is survived by one daughter, Ruth of Okla.; three sons, Denny and Mike both of Calif., and Jim of Nevada; one brother, Paul of Idaho; three granddaughters; one grandson; three great granddaughters; and two great grandsons.

EDWARDS

Funeral services for Lois Almedia EDWARDS were held Sunday, January 17, 1999 at the Hart Memorial Chapel in Westville with Rev. Audie VAUGHAN officiating. Interment was in the Westville City Cemetery.
Lois Almedia EDWARDS was born September 18, 1914 in Galena, Kansas, to Thomas and Pearl ELKINS HULVEY. She departed this life January 14, 1999 in Siloam Springs, Arkansas, at the age of 84 years, 3 months and 16 days.
She was employed by the Armor Company as a plant operator. During World War 11, she worked in California at the ship yards.
Lois was married to Elmer EDWARDS on September 12, 1944 in Richmond, California. He preceded her in death on February 21, 1993. She was a member of the Pentecostal Holiness Church in Westville.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; one brother, Ira HULVEY and two sisters, Betty GREGORY and Bessie WARDEN.
Lois is survived by one daughter Lois of Okla.; one son, Johnnie of Texas; one sister, Margaret of Okla.; two nieces, Billy June of Colorado and Thelma Jo of Utah; three nephews, Albert of Ark., Billy Keith of Okla. and Dennis of Calif.; 5 grandchildren; and 6 great grandchildren.

BUCKNER

Fannie Sue BUCKNER, daughter of Emert PHILPOTT and Mary Elizabeth CLAY PHILPOTT was born September 26, 1944 in Barber, Oklahoma, and departed this life to be with her Lord January 14, 1999 at Hillcrest Medical Center in Tulsa, Oklahoma at the age of 54 years, 3 months and 18 days.
Sue was married to James Allen BUCKNER on January 27, 1969 and with this union she became the mother of two children; Dow Len and Susan Elizabeth.
She attended the Stilwell Public School system and was of the Holiness faith.
She is preceded in death by both parents; two brothers, Gene and Mack PHILPOTT and one sister Juanita JOHNSON.
She is survived by her husband; one son, Dow Len and one daughter, Susan Elizabeth, both of Okla.; two brothers; Dick and George, both of Okla.; three sisters; Coweta, Marie and Inez, all of Okla.
Funeral services were held Monday January 18, 1999 in the Roberts/Reed-Culver Funeral Home Chapel in Stilwell with Bro. Audie VAUGHAN officiating. Interment followed at the Barber Cemetery.

WHEELER

Funeral services for James W. "Woodie" WHEELER, 81 of Muskogee were held Monday, January 4, 199 at Memorial Park Mausoleum with Pastor James W. WHEELER officiating. Burial was held under the direction of Lescher-Millsap Funeral Home. Honorary pallbearers will be nephews.
Mr. WHEELER was born at Bula, Arkansas, the son of Lon WHEELER and Daisy RITCHIE WHEELER and died Thursday, December 31, 1998 in Tulsa. He married Bonnie HUGHES in 1942 in Stilwell, Oklahoma.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Bruce WHEELER.
Survivors include his wife; two sisters, Pauline and Ernestine, both of Okla.

THORNTON

Funeral services for James Major THORNTON were held January 19, 1999 at the Old Green Baptist Church with Rev. Barry CHRISTIE and Rev. Mark SHELL officiating. Interment was in the Old Green Cemetery under the direction of the Hart Funeral Home of Westville.
James Major THORNTON was born April 17, 1917 in the Addilee Community in Adair County, Oklahoma, to James M. and Polly WATT THORNTON. He departed this life January 16, 1999 in Tulsa, Oklahoma, at the age of 81 years, 8 months and 29 days.
He was employed as a warehouseman for a medical supply companmy. He also served in the Army during World War 11. John was a member of the Old Green Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents; four brothers, Roger, Johnson, Wiley and Nick THORNTON and four sisters, Vena THORNTON SAWYER, Edna ENGLAND, Nellie HUMMINGBIRD and Susan PALONE.
James is survived by one daughter, Celeste of Okla.; two grandsons, Jason of New Mexico and Michael of Okla.; two sisters, Josephine of Okla. and Ceil of Texas; and one special niece Ruby of Okla.

EMERSON

Jessie Myrle EMERSON, 55, a waitress, died of heart failure recently at her residence.Services were at Stringer Funeral Home of Hazlehurst with burial in Georgetown Cemetery.
Mrs. EMERSON was a member of Georgetown Baptist Church.
Survivors include a daughter, Kathy of Mo., four brothers, James Earl, Sammy, Bo and Charles; two sisters, Ruth and Billie Faye; and a granddaughter.

GREGORY

Mary Ellen GREGORY, daughter of Robert BARTLETT and Ila Mae MCGEE BARLETT was born March 27, 1926 in Inola and departed this life to be with her Lord after a lengthy illness January 20, 1999 at the Memorial Hospital in Stilwell at the age of 72 years, 9 months and 23 days.
Mary Ellen and George GREGORY were united in marriage on December 21, 1980. With this union she was a mother and a step-mother to ten children.
She was raised near Wagoner and later moved to Inola. She lived in the Adair County area since 1956.
She is preceded in death by both parents, one brother; George O. COBLER, her husband, George and one grandson, Charles Brandon SCRAPER.
She is survived by two sons, Rick and Robert; three daughters, Ileta and Sharon and Tommy all of Okla. One sister, Tressie; five step-children, Johnny, Hershell, Travis, Loraine and Loretta; Eleven grandchildren, and two great grandchildren.
Funeral services were held January 22, 1999 in the Roberts/Reed-Culver Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. W.O. Hatley and Rev. Bobby COTHREN officiating. Interment followed at the Chalk Bluff Cemetery.

WHISENHUNT

Roy Daniel WHISENHUNT, resident of Tyler, Texas, son of Marion WHISENHUNT and Geneva MCHENRY WHISENHUNT, was born February 26, 1966 in Tulsa, Oklahoma, and departed this life into eternity January 17, 1999 in Tyler, Texas, at the age of 32 years, 10 months and 21 days.
Roy grew up and attended school in the Kiefer, Oklahoma, area. He was employed with A-1 Tree service.
He is preceded in death by both parents; maternal grandfather, Argie MCHENRY; paternal grandparents, John Henry and Mae WHISENHUNT.
He is survived by: four children, Crystalle, Daniel, Dallas and Nick, all of Okla. Two brothers, Mike and John of Texas; three sisters, Lora, Rhonda and Christy, all of Okla.; and maternal grandmother, Christine of Okla.
Funeral services were held Thursday, January 21, 199 in the Roberts/Reed-Culver Funeral Home Chapel in Stilwell with Pete MERRIE of Smithville, officiating. Interment followed at the Chalk Bluff Cemetery.

DRAIN

Graveside services for Rube DRAIN were held January 23, 1999 in the Bunch Cemetery under the direction of Agent Funeral Home of Sallisaw.
Rube DRAIN of Marble City was 59 years of age when he passed away on January 21, 1999 in the Ft. Smith Hospital.
He was a construction laborer of the Baptist Faith.
Rube is survived by daughters, Debra, Barbara, Cecilia and Shelia; and two sons Johnny and George; three sisters, Elreda, Bonnie and Dixie; two brothers, Buster and Donnie, all of Okla; seventeen grandchildren and two great grandchildren.

KELLEY

Funeral services for Ruth Pauline KELLEY, 49, of Fort Gibson were held on January 23, 1999, at the Milsap Funeral Service Chapel in Fort Gibson with Rev. David Beaver officiating.
Pallbearers were Muskogee County EMS Honor Guard. Honorary pallbearers were employees of Muskogee County EMS. Burial was in Freewater Cemetery, under the direction of Millsap Funeral Service of Fort Gibson.
Ruth was born August 25, 1949 at Stilwell, the daughter of Earnest KELLEY and Bertha HAMILTON KELLEY and died January 20, 1999 at Muskogee Regional Medical Center.
She graduated from school in Stilwell.
Survivors include her daughter Paula and husband, Roy; one grandson, Justin; two brothers, John Henry and Wayne; five sisters, Dorothy, Goldie, Pearl, Elsie and Geneva, all of Okla.

ROWE

Funeral services for Tom Edward ROWE were held Thursday, January 21, 1999 at the Hart Memorial Chapel in Westville with Rev. Bill FENT officiating. Interment was in the Westville City Cemetery.
Tom Edward ROWE was born December 9, 1927 in Wingate, Texas, to Walter and Jessie WEAVER ROWE. He departed this life January 17, 1999 in Tulsa, at the age of 71 years, 1 month and 8 days.
Tom served in the Army during World War 11. He was married to Mary MACE on May 24, 1986 in Tulsa.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one son, Wesley ROWE; one daughter, Patricia ROWE and their mother Betty COLLINS ROWE.
Tom is survived by his wife, Mary of Okla; two daughters, Wanda and Tommie, both of Okla.; one step daughter, Teresa of Okla., and one step-son, John of Florida; two grandsons, Ryan and Nicholas; one granddaughter, Brook, all of Okla.; and two sisters, Wilma and Thelma, both of Okla.

TURN

Funeral services for Donald Gene TURN were held January 27, 1999 at the Hart Memorial Chapel with Bro. Gil HOOPER and Bro. John GONZALES, Jr. officiating. Interment was in the England Hollow Cemetery under the direction of Hart Funeral Home.
Donald Gene TURN was born March 22, 1928 in Stilwell, to Alex TURN and Mary ENGLAND TURN STAYATHOME. He departed this life January 22, 1999 in Siloam Springs, Ark.; at the age of 70 years and 10 months.
He served in the Army and Air Force. He was employed by Gates Rubber Company from which he retired. Donald attended the Twin Oaks Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother Lacy HOGNER and three infant sisters.
Donald is survived by: two daughters, Linda and Carolyn, both of Okla.; three brothers, Webster of Del., and Bennie and Archie, both of Okla.; three sisters, Katheryn, Wanda and Linda, all of Okla.;and two grandsons, Morgan and Jonathan, also of Okla.

ALBERTY

Dorothy Vinner ALBERTY, daughter of Benjamin Walter THOMAS and Amy ALLEN THOMAS was born October 12, 1922 in Proctor and departed this life January 28, 1999 at the age of 76 years, 3 months and 15 days.
Dorothy was married to Andrew Jackson ALBERTY on April 17, 1943 and to this union were born four children; Linda, Albert, Marvin and Joseph Harold.
She is survived by: one daughter, Linda of Okla.; two sons, Albert and Marvin, both of Okla; four brothers, Glenn of Okla., Urchel of Wash., Vance and Milton, both of Okla.; seven grandchildren, and thirteen great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held January 30, 1999 at the Roberts/Reed-Culver Funeral Home Chapel in Stilwell with Bro. Bobby COTHREN officiating. Interment followed at the Chalk Bluff Cemetery.

HONEYCUTT

Eddie HONEYCUTT, son of Phillip HONEYCUTT and Almeda FRIMAN HONEYCUTT was born December 15, 1904 in Elba, Ark., and departed this life January 25, 1999 at the age of 94 years, 1 month and 8 days.
Eddie was married to Vera SEVERSON in 1952 and with this union he became a father and a stepfather to four children; Dick, Edward, Glenn and Dorothy.
For a short time he served in W.W.1 and later became a veteran of W.W.11.
He is preceded in death by both parents, two brothers, one sister, one son and one granddaughter.
He is survived by: wife Vera of the home, three sons, Dick of NM, Edward of Okla., and Glenn of Vir.; one daughter Dorothy of Ark.; two brothers, William of Ark., and David of Kan.; two sisters, Mae of Ark., and Mollie of Okla.; eleven grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held January 29, 1999 in the Roberts/Reed-Culver Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Terry HALL officiating. Interment followed at the Stilwell City Cemetery.

CRAIG

Floyd Wayne CRAIG was born August 29, 1946 in Forest City, Arkansas, to Fred Emmett and Edna Lorene PIPKIN CRAIG. He departed this life January 22, 1999 at the age of 52 years, 5 months and 2 days.
He was preceded in death by his father; one infant brother Thoms Allen CRAIG and one infant sister, Darlene CRAIG.
Floyd is survived by his mother, Edna; two sons, Patrick and Phillip; one daughter, Stacy; two step-sons, Sidney and Anthony, all of Ark.; eight brothers, Otis of Fla., James and Terry of Ark., Freddie, Donnie and Billy, of Okla., Alvie and Robert both of Ark.; four sisters, Georgia and Judy, both of Okla., and Patsy and Sarah, both of Ark.

Lillian B. MURRAY was born in June 9,m 1910 in Okemah to Robert Lee and Della Mae TENNISON GUILLIAMS. She departed this life January 27, 1999 at the age of 88 years, 7 months and 18 days.
Lillian was united in marriage to Earl Lee MURRAY on September 7, 1929 in Enid. To this union three children were born: Earlane, Opal and Jim.
She was preceded in death by husband Earl, both parents, and two brothers, Johnny and Bobby GUILLIAMS.
Besides her children, she left five grandchildren; Sharon and Gary, both of Ark., Larry, Danny and Lee, all of Okla.; five great grandchildren, two step-great grandchildren, one great-great granddaughter, two sisters, Ruby and Katherine, both of Wash.

EUBANKS

Helen Mae EUBANKS, daughter of Tony SWAFFORD and Ada WATERS SWAFFORD was born May 24, 1923 in Dyer, Arkansas, and departed this life January 10, 1999 at the age of 75 years, 7 months and 16 days.
Helen was married to Lloyd EUBANKS on October 4, 1941 and to this union were born three children; J.C., Joann and Shirley.
She is preceded in death by: both parents, her husband Lloyd, three brothers; Virgil, Homer and Chester (Pete) SWAFFORD, three sisters; Jessie PARKER, Lavelle VANZANT and Goldie SISCO.
She is survived by: one son, J.C. of Okla.; two daughters, Joann of Okla. and Shirley of Ark.; three grandchildren; Phillip, Tim and Jay, all of Okla; one brother, Vilas of Ark.; one sister, Jewell of Kansas.

Archie Lee GORDON, son of Ernest GORDON and Lora WORTHAM GORDON was born July 24, 1927 in Boswell and departed this life February 16, 1999 at the age of 71 years, 6 months and 22 days.
He was a veteran of W.W.11.
He is preceded in death by both parents.
He is survived by two daughters, Linda and Deborah, both of Okla.; one sister, one brother, three grandchildren and a special friend of 44 years, Robbie. Also a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives and many friends.
Graveside funeral services were held, February 20, 1999 at the Johnson Memorial Cemetery on the family acreage with Bro. Darrell BOTTOMS officiating under the direction of Roberts/Reed-Culver Funeral Home.

Bill PETTIT was born October 20, 1913 in Adair County, to John and Mary COMINGDEER PETTIT. He departed this life February 18, 1999 at the age of 85 years, 3 months and 29 days.
He was married to Cindi Lou MONTGOMERY on May 25, 1936, in Sequoyah, Okla. She preceded him in death on February 17, 1997.
He was of the Indian Methodist faith and attended the Assembly of God Church in Bunch.
He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Mary PETTIT; his wife, Cindi; two sisters, Nancy BIRD and Jennie CANOE; two brothers, Jess and George PETTIT and one son-in-law, Cale GONZALES.
Bill is survived by one daughter, Louise; and one son, Bill, both of Okla.; one brother, four granddaughters, one grandson, two great granddaughters, four great grandsons, three step granddaughters, along with several nieces, nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.

COOK

Doyle Dean COOK, son of Lee COOK and Pauline BLUE COOK, was born December 23, 1957 in Prairie Grove, Ark., and departed this life February 14, 1999 at the age of 40 years, one month and 20 days.
He is preceded in death by both parents, grandparents and one brother; Gene COOK.
He is survived by one daughter, Ann Marie; and one son, Ace, both of Okla.
He is also survived by a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives and many friends.

RABBIT

Ed was born the son of Nutie RABBIT and Isa SULLATESAKEE RABBIT on March 17, 1938 in Mazie, Okla., and departed this life February 17, 1999 at the age of 60 years.
He was preceded in death by one daughter, Margaret Jeanine and one grandson, Thomas Allen FOURKILLER.
He is survived by three sons, Eddie, Roy and Edward; and one daughter, Lena, all of Okla.; two brothers, one sister and twelve grandchildren.

Glyndean APPLEBY-CASADY, was born December 15, 1918 in Atkins, Ark., the daughter of Robert Lee and Minnie Ann CRAIG SMITH and departed this life February 18, 1999 in Tahlequah.
Her husband, Don V. APPLEBY, preceded her in death in 1977.
She was later married to Randal CASADY, who preceded her in death in 1997. Her brother Lelis SMITH, sister, Vannie TAYLOR and grandson Michael David CHAPMAN.
She is survived by her son Bobby; and her daughter, Charlotte, both of Okla.; three sisters, two brothers, five grandchildren, and nine great grandchildren.

HITCHER

Jimmy Rogers HITCHER was born July 2, 1950 in Tahlequah to Robert Wofford and Lois Juanita GUINN HITCHER. He departed this life February 21, 1999 at the age of 48 years, 7 months and 19 days.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Lois HITCHER and two brothers, Buck and Eli HITCHER.
Jimmy is survived by three sisters, Georgann, Peggy and Jennie, all of Okla.; several nieces, nephews, friends and loved ones.

Toni Jo MANUS was born April 1, 1944 in Stilwell to Richard Jr. and Christene Lea HOGNER MANUS. She departed this life February 15, 1999 in Stilwell at the age of 54 years, 10 months and 14 days.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and one brother, Jerry MANUS.
Toni is survived by two sons, Richard and Michael; one daughter Christene, all of Okla.; one brother, and three granddaughters.

RYAN

Roe L. RYAN, son of Emmett RYAN and Peggy WHITMIRE RYAN was born December 16, 1916 in Proctor and departed February 14, 1999 at the age of 82 years, 1 month and 28 days.
Roe was married to Edith CONRAD in 1946 and to this union were born two children: Roe, Jr. and Juanita.
He is preceded in death by both parents and wife Edith.
He is survived by one son, Roe, of Ark., two daughters, Juanita and Norma, both of Okla.; three grandchildren, eight great grandchildren and two sisters.
Funeral services were held, February 18, at Proctor Community Church with Bro. Audie VAUGHN officiating. Interment followed at Proctor Cemetery under the direction of Roberts Funeral Home of Westville.

PALMER

Ralph W. PALMER, 84, a former Stilwell resident, departed this life, January 17, 1999. He was born in Cardin, July 22, 1914 to Jasper and Ada BARNETT PALMER.
Ralph married Lorene LEATHERWOOD of Stilwell, and they later moved to Grandview, Wash.
He later married Shirley JENSEN of Grandview.
Ralph was preceded in death by wife, Shirley; one son, Murray; his parents, six brothers and two sisters.
Survivors include: one daughter, Cheryl; one granddaughter, one grandson, and two sisters, Opal of Colo. and Betty of Okla.
Funeral services were held in Pasco, Wash., January 22, 1999, with Bro. Dwight HUFFMAN of the Pasco First Baptist Church officiating under the direction of Mueller's Greenlee Funeral Home with interment in the Stilwell City Cemetery with Bro. Roger HANEY of the Stilwell First Baptist Church officiating.

DAVIS

Sylvia MCREYNOLDS DAVIS, daughter of Samuel MCREYNOLDS and Willona GRISWOLD MCREYNOLDS, was born September 4. 1909, near Tabler, Okla., and departed this life on January 31, 1999.
Sylvia was married to Julies Clinton DAVIS on December 3, 1927, at Chickasha. From this marriage came four daughters, Norma Joe, Wanda, Joyce and Carolyn; 11 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; and two great great grandchildren.
Funeral arrangements were made by Hart Funeral Home of Tahlequah and Graham & Hitch of Pleasonton, Calif.
On February 5, 1999, she was laid to rest beside her beloved husband Julies at Lone Tree Cemetery in Hayward, Calif.

She was married to Jennings RALEIGH in July of 1959. Maudie was of the Baptist faith.
She was preceded in death by her parents, one son, Michael FOURKILLER and one sister Shirley BARNHARD.
Maudie is survived by husband, Jennings; three sons, Teddy, Rodney and Jesse, all of Okla.; two daughters, Vonna of Okla., and Shirley of Ark.; one special child, Bethany of Okla.; four brothers, six sisters, four grandchildren, and three great grandchildren.

Willard Raymond CARTER, son of Isaac CARTER and Josephine VELINES CARTER was born July 14, 1916 in Westville and departed this life February 18, 1999 at the age of 82 years, 7 months and 3 days.
He was married to Beulah WOOD July 19, 1941 and to this union were born two children, Wilma Lee and Duane Ray.
Raymond was preceded in death by both parents, one brother, Jeff CARTER and two sisters, Stella DOWDY and Rosie PACK.

Sam was born November 21, 1906 in Indian Territory, to Dick and Rebecca HOOPER SCRAPER. He departed this life February 22, 199 at the age of 92 years, 3 months and 1 day.
Sam was married to Mary Jane HUMMINGBIRD on June 20, 1967. She preceded him in death August 2, 1993.
He was also preceded in death by his parents, and one brother, Robert SCRAPER.
Sam is survived by three sons, Dickie, Sammy and David; and one daughter, Sandra, all of Okla.; one sister; 11 grandchildren; and six great grandchildren.

She was married to Charles PATRICK on December 10, 1992 in Eureka Springs, Ark.
She was preceded in death by an infant daughter; her grandfathers, L.D. BENNETT, Dave KILLER and Sam HARDBARGER and two uncles, Jimmy Joe BENNETT and Sonny HARDBARGER.
Sandra is survived by her husband, Charles, of the home; two sons, Clayton and Brian; two grandchildren, Harley Marie and Cole Brian; her parents, Lee and Geneva; and one brother Jerry, all of Okla.; her grandmothers, Nobel of Colo., and Dollie of Okla.; several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and loved ones.

Funeral services for Donna K. SPRINGWATER POOLEY, age 37 of Hulbert, were held Wednesday, March 3, 1999 in Hart Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. D.J. MCCARTER officiating. Burial followed in Tahlequah City Cemetery under the direction of Hart Funeral Home.
Donna was born December 5, 1961 in Tahlequah and died February 28, 1999 in Tulsa.
On September 24, 1994 she and Robert POOLEY were married on the banks of the Illinois River. A resident of the area all of her life, Donna worked in public relations at Reasor's grocery store.
Preceding her in death was her son, Michael SPRINGWATER and her grandparents, Arthur and Jennie SPRINGWATER.
She is survived by her husband, Robert of the home; her daughter Stephanie; her mother, Peggy; and her stepfather, Joe, all of Okla.; two brothers, Tony of Colo., and Waylon of Okla.; an aunt, Maudie of Okla.; and an uncle, Don of Okla.

BROOKS

Funeral services for Myrtle RINEHART BROOKS, age 92 of Welling, Okla., were held Monday, March 1, 1999 at 2:00 p.m. at Luginbuel Chapel in Prairie Grove, Ark., with clergy, Charles DUVALL officiating. Burial followed at the Lincoln Cemetery, Lincoln, Ark.
Myrtle was born June 16, 1906 at Cedarville, Ark., to Sam KING and Sarah PITTMAN KING. She died February 27, 1999 at Tahlequah City Hospital.
Myrtle was a member of the Baptist Church and a former resident of Lincoln, Ark.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Opal RINEHART in 1963.
She is survived by one son, Bobby; one grandson, Bobby Dean; two great greadsons, Bobby K. and Bryan Dean, all of Okla.; two great great granddaughters and one great great grandson.

MCCUISTION

Lucille SOAP MCCUISTION was born May 6, 1932 in Adair County, to Alex and Puna DUNCAN SOAP. She departed this life February 21, 1999 in Stilwell at the age of 66 years, 9 months and 15 days.
She was married to Woodrow MCCUISTION in October of 1964. He preceded her in death on June 10, 1997. Lucille attended the Salem Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and three sisters, Lula TEEHEE, Martha SQUIRRELL and Genora COCHRAN.
Lucille is survived by four sons, Woodrow, Ronny, Billy and Frank; three daughters, Mollie, Jennie Sue and Lynni, all of Okla.; five brothers, two sisters, and 17 grandchildren.

BRADLEY

Nellie Mae BRADLEY was born August 12, 1914 in Bertha, Mo., to Oliver Samuel and Mamie BROWN HICKS. She departed this life February 26, 1999 in Stilwell at the age of 84 years, 6 months and 14 days.
She was married to Thomas Lee "Tom" BRADLEY on September 22, 1929, in Goodman, Mo. He preceded her in death on December 15, 1979.
She was also preceded in death by her parents, her step-mother, Bertha HICKS; two sons, Earl L. and Alfred L. BRADLEY; one daughter Frances Joann MCMURTREY; one brother Felda HICKS and one granddaughter, Mary Jolene BRADLEY.
Nellie is survived by six sons, Thomas W., Joe, Harold, Gary and James, all of Okla., and Billy of Ark.; one daughter, Minnie of Ark.; one brother Noah of Florida; four sisters, Freida, Katie, Barbara and Glady, all of Mo.; 34 grandchildren and 42 great grandchildren.

WOLFE

Edward Lee WOLFE, son of Bird Lee WOLFE and Paggie BUSH WOLFE was born February 5, 1981 in Tahlequah, Okla., and departed this life February 25, 1999 at Kerr Lake in Sequoyah County, Okla., at the age of 18 years and 20 days.
He was a Junior at Cave Springs School.
He is survived by his father, Bird; his mother Paggie; one sister, Margie; one brother, Sonny; one niece, Kassandra; two nephews, Chase and Wyatt; paternal grandmother, Maudie; and special aunt and uncle, Bill and Lydia, all of Okla.
Funeral services were held, Saturday, February 27, 1999 at 2:00 p.m. at the Roberts/Reed-Culver Funeral Home Chapel in Stilwell with Bro. Wayne BUNCH officiating. Interment followed at the Caney Cemetery.

WYERS

Funeral services for James Claude WYERS, 93, of Tahlequah, were held February 26, 1999 in the Hart Funeral Home Chapel with Stephen CRAWFORD officiating. Burial followed in Park Hill Cemetery.
James, son of William and Maybelle JOHNSON WYERS, was born October 21, 1905 in Cove Creek, Ark., and died February 23, 1999 in Muskogee.
He was married to Bertha WRIGHT on December 1, 1923.
He is preceded in death by wife Bertha; daughter, Jessie "Jeri" EMERSON; three granddaughters; and seven brothers and sisters.
He is survived by three children, Harold, Beatrice and Pat, all of Okla.; 13 grandchildren; 24 great grandchildren; and one great great grandchild.

Charles Enoch RUSSELL, son of William Lee RUSSELL and Martha Ivan BIGBY RUSSELL was born November 1, 1910 in Stilwell and departed this life March 3, 1999 at the age of 88 years, 4 months and 2 days.
Charles was the grandson of William RUSSELL and Lucy STAR RUSSELL.
He was married to Bonnie MORRISON and to this union were born two children; Charles Lee and Lola Fay.
He was in C.C. Camp at Fort Chaffee, Arkansas, and in California.
He enjoyed being a professional carpenter and a painter in his spare time. He was of the Holiness faith and was baptized in July 1990.
He is preceded in death by both parents; grandparents; five brothers, Luther LONG, Frank RUSSELL, John RUSSELL, William RUSSELL and Jewell LONG; two sisters, Lucy ROSSELL-CARSON and Ruby E. LONG-EATON.

WRIGHT

Cedro Dedric WRIGHT, son of Ernest WRIGHT and Irene CANALLIA WRIGHT was born October 10, 1911 in Sparks, Okla., and departed this life March 2, 1999 at the age of 87 years, 4 months and 19 days.
Cedro was married to Malissa SANDERS on November 30, 1929 in Fort Smith. Together they shared 69 years together.
During the 1930's he played minor league baseball for the Fort Smith Twins.
He is preceded in death by both parents, step-father; Claude LONGSHORE; two sisters, Mary EUBANKS and Lucille JAMES; one infant brother at birth and three brothers, George LONGSHORE, Frankie LONGSHORE and Joe Arty LONGSHORE.
He is survived by wife, Malissa of the home; five brothers, Luther, Leroy, Claude, Ferrell and Evart, all of Okla., and Joshua of Calif.; four sisters, Pearl, Helen, Juanita and Mattie, all of Okla.

Anna was born December 1903 in Morrow, Ark., to Hugh and Susie MORRIS SIMPSON. She departed this life March 3, 1999 at the age of 95 years, 2 months and 8 days.
She was married to J. Walter REED in 1922. To this union was born three sons, Garland, Curtis and Grady. She was a charter member of the Stilwell Pentecostal Holiness Church where she served as secretary for over 20 years.
She is preceded in death by her parents, brothers, Aubrey and Morris SIMPSON, her husband and all three sons.
Anna is survived by one daughter-in-law, Nova of Wis., two granddaughters, Laura of Wis., and Carolyn of Germany; 5 great grandchildren; two sisters-in-law, one brother-in-law, and a niece, Phyllis of Okla.; several nephews and a host of friends.

BARKER

Hazel BARKER, 81, of Evansville died Thursday, March 4, 1999 at St. Edward Mercy Medical Center in Fort Smith, Ark. Hazel was born November 9, 1917 in Natural Dam, the daughter of Reno and Callie BRADY COX.
She was a homemaker and a member of the Lincoln Seventh-Day Adventist Church.
Survivors include husband Clint; two daughters Kay and Donna, both of Ark.; one sister, Mattie of Calif.; one brother, Bert of Ark.; two grandsons, Clint and Tim, both of Ark.; and three great granddaughters, Brooke, Halea and MaKayla.
Funeral services were held March 7, in Ocker Funeral Home Memorial Chapel in Van Buren with burial in the Hall Cemetery near Natural Dam.

HALE

Troy Evan HALE Jr., son of Troy Evan HALE Sr. and Melodese Dorothy STILWELL HALE was born August 18, 1943 in Stilwell and departed this life March 4, 1999 at the age of 55 years, 6 months and 13 days.
He is preceded in death by both parents, one daughter Ethel Denise COLE and one grandson, Jimmie Edward COLE.
He is survived by three sons, John and Troy of Ark., and Ralph of Okla.; one daughter, Cynthia of Wash.; one brother, three sisters, two half brothers and two half sisters.
Graveside funeral services were held March 7, 1999 at the Ganerville Cemetery in Summers, Ark., with Bro. Claude MCGEE officiating under the direction of Roberts Funeral Home of Westville.

SIMMONS

Marty Don SIMMONS son of Don SIMMONS and Janita WORLEY SIMMONS was born May 3, 1973 in Muskogee, and departed this life February 28, 1999 at the age of 25 years, 9 months and 24 days.
Marty attended Westville High School where he graduated in 1991. He served five and a half years in the U.S. Navy aboard the U.S.S. Austin having been honorably discharged in July 1997. For the past eight months of his life, he was a professional truck driver for Arrow Trucking of Tulsa. He accepted Jesus Christ as his personal Savior in July 1984 at the Old Baptist Mission Church in Westville.
He is preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Joe WORLEY of Stilwell.

Linda Kay SANDERS, daughter of Johnnie SANDERS and Eliza BEARPAW SANDERS was born July 14, 1975 in Stilwell and departed this life March 6, 1999 at the age of 23 years, 7 months and 19 days.
Linda graduated from Stilwell High School in 1995.
She is preceded in death by her mother; paternal and maternal grandparents.
She is survived by her father and step-mother, Wanda; six brothers, Randy, Johnny, Leroy, George, Leon and Felix; two step-brothers, Randy and Carl; and one sister, Brenda, all of Okla.
Funeral services were held Monday, March 8, 1999 in the Roberts/Reed-Culver Funeral Home with Bro. Andy GONZALES and Rev. D.J. MCCARTER officiating. Interment followed at the Flute Springs Cemetery.

MORTON

Gertrude A. MORTON, daughter of Wilson Thomas REED and Anna Lou DEARMAN REED was born February 8, 1910 in Cherokee County and departed this life March 4, 1999 at the age of 89 years and 23 days.
Gertrude was married to Fred MORTON and to this union were born five children; A.J., Opal, Freddie, Don and Albert.
She is preceded in death by both parents, her children's father, two brothers Orval REED and Monroe REED and one infant son, Albert MORTON.
She is survived by three sons, A.J., Freddie and Don, all of Okla.; one daughter, Opal of Okla.; one brother, Richard of Mo.; and 14 grandchildren.

Marie Isabell DOCHTERMAN WILLIAMS was born May 9, 1918 in Los Angeles, Calif., to Frederick and Rosalee PANTUSO DOCHTERMAN. She departed this life March 14, 1999 at the age of 80 years, 10 months and 5 days.
She was married to H.G. WILLIAMS on May 5, 1938. He preceded her in death on March 17, 1979. Marie was a homemaker and was of the Baptist faith. She attended the Rock Springs Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband and one sister, Audreen PULLEN.
Marie is survived by one son, Fred of Alaska; one daughter, Valerie of Okla.; four grandsons, Jim of Okla., Jon of Texas, Andrew of Ohio and Joshua of Ala.; two granddaughters, nine great grandchildren, other relatives, loved ones and friends.

STEPHENSON

Olen Eugene STEPHENSON, son of Claude Lee STEPHENSON and Pearl WELCH STEPHENSON was born July 13, 1923 in Bisbee, Arizona, and departed this life March 20, 1999 at the age of 75 years, 8 months and 6 days.
Olen was married to Grace DOYLE on August 16, 1945 in Stilwell and to this union was born one child, Lynda. Olen was a W.W. 11 Navy Veteran. He honored his country by voluntarily enlisting in the U.S. Navy on July 21, 1943. He earned 11 bronze stars and numerous campaign bars and ribbons during his 24 months in the south Pacific.
He is precede in death by both parents, his younger brother, Raymond STEPHENSON and an infant sister, Lenora.
He leaves to mourn in his passing his wife of over 53 years; one daughter, Lynda; one grandson, Michael and one great grandson, Mikah; his older brother, Garland; and five sisters, Billie, Darlene, Joyce, Ella Jean, and Mary, all of Okla.
Funeral services were held, March 23, 1999 in the Roberts/Reed-Culver Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Darryl LACIE and Bro. Bill BRUNK officiating. Interment followed at the Stilwell City Cemetery.

Val Nathaniel DOBBINS was born January 5, 1918 in Casper, Wyoming to Charles R. and Mary SCHNUR DOBBINS. He departed this life March 19, 1999 at the age of 81 years, 2 months and 14 days.
He served in the United States Air Force during W.W. 11 and was a retired security guard. Val attended the First Christian Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Josephine DEJARNETT.
Val is survived by one brother, Joe, of Okla.; two nephews, Ray of Okla., and Hal of Ark., and other relatives, loved ones and friends.

MILLER

Wanda "Susie" MILLER departed this life on March 15, 1999 at the age of 53.
She was an active and faithful member of First Baptist Church of Idabel, where she served as department secretary for Adult 1. She was a member of Epsilon Sigma Alpha soroity, Delta Tau chapter. She was employed by the Idabel Public Schools for the past 18 years, where she was currently the bookkeeper and computer operator at Idabel Middle School.
She and her husband, Richard D. MILLER, were married in Irving, Texas.
She leaves to cherish her memory, her husband, one son, Ron of Okla.; two stepsons, Brett and Matt, both of Ark.; six grandchildren; her mother, Lottie of Okla.; one sister, Bernice, of Texas; and two brothers, Felix and Jerry, both of Okla.
Funeral services were at the First Baptist Church of Idabel. Graveside services will follow at Union Cemetery, 15 miles southeast of Hope, Ark. The Rev. Dale KIRKHUFF will officiate.

GARRETT

Bill Cruse GARRETT, son of John GARRETT and Kate CRUSE GARRETT was born September 30, 1921 in Stilwell. He departed this life March 15, 1999 at his home in Stilwell at the age of 77 years, 5 months and 14 days.
Bill was a W.W. 11 Navy Veteran and was a 32nd Degree Mason and a member of Flint Lodge #11 in Stilwell. He was a Vo-Ag teacher for several years before becoming the owner and operator of the Garrett Chevrolet and Oldsmobile Dealership in Stilwell, which he operated from 1958 to 1984. He was a member of the First Christian Church.
He is preceded in death by both parents, two sons; Jimmy Dale GARRETT and Ken Alan GARRETT, one brother, Charles GARRETT and two sisters; Lucille HURD and Mae Jean POYNOR.
He is survived by one son, Bill; one brother, Mack; and one sister, Kathryn, all of Okla.; ten grandchildren, Jack, Bob, Danny, Brandy, Jeremy, Samantha and Ty, all of Okla., and Courtney of Texas; and by six great grandchildren.
Funeral services were held March 18, in the Roberts/Reed-Culver Funeral Home Chapel in Stilwell with Jack STEELE officiating. Interment followed at the Stilwell City Cemetery.

BLATCHER

Edythe Louise BLATCHER, age 84, daughter of George and Minnie CORN CLINTON was born July 1, 1914 in the Baron Fork Community and departed this life in Rossville, Kansas, March 4, 1999.
She graduated from Stilwell High School before going to Kansas City. There she met and married George BLATCHER on March 26, 1942.
She is preceded in death by both parents, husband, and two sisters; Alice ROBERTS and Georgia EAGLETON, and one brother Lace CLINTON.
She is survived by a daughter, Mary Lee of Kansas; two sons, George of Colo., and Grady of Kansas; and one sister Jayne of Okla.; and ten grandchildren.
Mrs. BLATCHER was laid to rest March 8, 1999 at Memorial Park Cemetery in Topeka, Kansas.

FIXIN

Elsie Ella FIXIN, daughter of Clem HOGNER and Nancy WOLF HOGNER was born May 5, 1919 in Stilwell and departed this life March 17, 1999 at the age of 79 years, 10 months and 11 days.
Elsie was married to Jess FIXIN and with this union she became a mother to eight children; William, Margaret, Joann, Donald, Ronald, Perry, Juanita and Rosey.
She is preceded in death by both parents, husband and one son, Perry FIXIN; two daughters, Juanita LEACH and Rosey FLYNN; four brothers, Solomon HOGNER, Marvin HOGNER, Wilson MCLEMORE and Jack NOFIRE; and two sisters, Janie GREGORY and Elizabeth ROSS.
She is survived by three sons, William, Ronald and Donald; two daughters, Margaret and Joann, all of Okla.; and a host of grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.

She was a speech pathologist teaching for 25 years at Christie, Stilwell and the Indian Capital Area Vo-Tech. She retired in December 1997.
Cindy was married to Jerry Bob HILL in June 1957. She was a member of the First Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, Fredrick Earl ADDINGTON, Jr. and James Edward ADDINGTON.

Opal BUCKHORN WARREN, daughter of George and Nancy COCHRAN BUCKHORN was born September 20, 1919 in Cherokee County and departed this life March 24, 1999 at the age of 78 years, 6 months and 3 days.
She is preceded in death by her parents and husband, Sherman WARREN; five brothers, John, Sunday and Garner BUCKHORN, Jesse and Grover HENSON; two sisters, Laura WELLS and Maggie JACKSON.
She is survived by five nephews, Leon, James, Watie and Jimmie, all of Okla., and John of Minn.; and by six nieces, Georgia, Hazel, Leona, Georgie, Shirley and Carlene, all of Okla.

Susan BRIXEY was born November 14, 1952 in Tahlequah to Floyd and Patt FULLER BRIXEY and departed this life March 22, 1999 at the age of 46 years, 4 months and 8 days.
She was a teacher and taught for five years at Milton, Kansas, and 18 years at Bushton, Kansas. Susan was a member of the First Baptist Church in Westville.
She is preceded in death by her father and her grandparents.
She is survived by one son, Eric of Kansas; mother and stepfather, Patt and Bill; and one brother, Bill.

MORRISON

Harold J. MORRISON, son of Jesse and Lizzie FITZGERALD MORRISON was born August 6, 1919 in Nowata and departed this life at the age of 79 years, 7 months and 20 days.
Harold served in W.W. 11 with the 45th Division E Company. He was stationed in Italy where was wounded and received the Purple Heart for his services.
He retired from the Campbell Soup Company. He has lived in the Westville area since 1952.
He was married to Judy GRIGGS on July 2, 1973.
He is preceded in death by both parents, his second wife, Etta; two infant daughters, Sherry Lou and Shonda Lee; two brothers, Jesse Jr. and Tom MORRISON; and one infant sister, Mary MORRISON.
He is survived by his wife Judy of the home; nine sons, Curtis, John, Bobby, Jesse, David, John, Andrew and Jim, all of Okla., and Mark of Kansas; nine daughters, Betty, Patricia, Shelah, Shirley, Shasta and Sherma, all of Okla., Anna Mae of Mo., Sharon of Ariz., and Mary of Ark.; one brother, Kirk of Okla.; and one sister, Edna of Okla.; 44 grandchildren and 28 great grandchildren.

Funeral services for Floyd (Dale) SMITH, of Peggs were held March 22, 1999 at Reed-Culver Chapel, with Raeberne SQUYRES officiating, and eulogy by Chief BOYD. Burial followed in the Tahlequah Cemetery under the direction of Reed-Culver Funeral Home in Tahlequah.
Dale was born in Hulbert on August 30, 1927, son of Dewey and Myrtle WOFFORD SMITH, and passed from this life on March 19, 1999 at the age of 71 years, 6 months and 19 days.
Dale was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Bobby SMITH and one sister, Bea SMITH.
Dale married Naomi BUCKNER, who preceded him in death. To this union were born five children: Bob, Eugene, Roger, David and Richard.
On December 1, 1990 he married Peggy SULLIVAN. They made their home in the Peggs Community.

Wanda Virginia BLAKEMORE was born August 20, 1924 in Webbers Falls to John Prince and Nokie Niwatha ROWLAND WILLYARD. She departed this life April 3, 1999 in Stilwell at the age of 74 years, 7 months and 14 days.
She was married to Sam West BLAKEMORE on October 25, 1942 in Sand Springs. He preceded her in death on September 21, 1989.
Wanda was employed as a medical secretary for Dr. COOK for 39 years. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Stilwell where she served as secretary and treasurer.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; one sister Juanita MERRIT; two brothers, Ray and W.R. WILLYARD and one great grandson, Michael CAMPBELL.
Wanda is survived by three daughters, Glenda, Shirley and Kinny, all of Okla.; seven grandchildren, Mark, Allen, Lisa, Leslie and Clint, all of Okla, Rodney of Neb., and Derrick of Ark.; nine great grandchildren; four sisters, Norma of Texas, and Sue, Leona and Key, all of Okla.; and by two brothers, Charles and Tommy, both of Okla.

Mildred E. SCOTT, daughter of John W. BURNETT and Lillie STEEN BURNETT was born October 24, 1921 in Stilwell and departed this life March 28, 1999 at Memorial Hospital in Stilwell at the age of 77 years, 5 months and 3 days.
Mildred was a member of the Sanders Baptist Church and also attended Caney Baptist Church.
She is preceded in death by both parents; one brother, Clyde BURNETT; one infant brother at birth; one sister, Allene BURNETT and one infant granddaughter, Myra Eugena SCOTT.
She is survived by two sons, Darrell and John Wayne; five brothers, Emmons, Glen, Floyd, Johnnie and Raymond; two sisters, Jewell and Lorene, all of Okla.; five grandchildren Jeffrey, Wesley, Johnnie, Mary and Eugene; and nine great grandchildren. Funeral services were held, Wednesday, March 31, 1999 in the Roberts/Reed-Culver Funeral Home Chapel in Stilwell with Bro. Lloyd KESTER officiating. Interment followed at the Proctor Cemetery.

CRITTENDEN

Eldred Isaac "Chief" CRITTENDEN was born August 24, 1925 in Turon, Kansas, to Joseph and Susie CRITTENDEN.
He had two sisters; Freeda and Peggy Jo, and one brother, Johnny.
They moved around the country from Kansas to Oklahoma, to New Mexico to California and back to Oklahoma where they settled.
He and his wife Ruby attended the same school in the early years, then each moved to a different community. They met again when he was in the navy and she was a senior in high school. They fell in love and were married July 29, 1947. They celebrated their 50th Anniversary in 1997. They raised three children, 7 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild. Their greatest desire is to have them all know Jesus Christ as their personal Savior. Eldred was baptized in the Richmond Baptist Church by Ira AIKEM in 1948.
He served as Deacon and Trustee there and was very active in Maiden Lane Baptist Church in Pinole for 4 years and has been active in McArthur Church for 4 years.
He was preceded in death by his father Joseph and mother Susie; two sisters, Freeda CRITTENDEN and Peggy Jo CRITTENDEN ROBINSON.
He is survived by his wife, Ruby of the home; one daughter, Donna; two sons, Harold and Eldred; seven grandchildren, Lisa, D.J., Jennifer, Jeff, Keith, Linda and Stephen; one great grandson, Austin; one brother Johnny;and one aunt Denny.

Etta Sue WALLACE, daughter of Roy E. FARR and Nancy HUDSON FARR was born June 15, 1942 in Vancouver, Wash., and departed this life April 4, 1999 at her home in Siloam Springs, Ark., at the age of 56 years, 9 months and 19 days.
She is preceded in death by her father and one brother, James FARR.
She is survived by her husband Guy of the home; mother, Nancy of Okla.; one son, Mike of Ore.; two daughters, Belinda and Kathy, both of Ark.; one brother, Walter of Arizona; five sisters; and eight grandchildren.

Margaret A. MOSS, daughter of Geroge PRIDDY and Henryetta BROWN PRIDDY was born October 8, 1907 in DeQueen, Ark., and departed this life April 5, 1999 at the age of 91 years, 5 months and 27 days.
She is preceded in death by both parents; husband, Gailey MOSS; one brother, Roy PRIDDY; and three sisters, Lue WILLMON, Florence SPOON and Ethel SMITH.
She is survived by one brother, Homer of Colo.; one sister, Lena of Okla.; one niece, Opal of Okla.; one nephew, Troy of Texas; and a host of great-nieces and nephews.

Joan Patricia BROWN, daughter of Wayne BROWN Sr. and Shirley DELANEY BROWN was born May 3, 1974 in Oklahoma City and departed this life March 27, 1999 at the age of 24 years, 10 months and 23 days.
She is survived by her mother and father; three sons, Caleb, Levi and Trey; one daughter, Stephanie, all of Okla.; four brothers, Wayne Jr. and Kenneth, both of Okla, and David and Lawrence, both of Ark.; two sisters, Charlene and Sherry, both of Okla.; and by paternal grandparents, Bill and JoNell and maternal grandparents, Doy and Wilma, all of Okla.

Dale married Naomi Jane BUCKNER, who preceded him in death. To this union were born five children, Bob, Eugene, Roger, David and Richard. On December 1, 1990, he married Peggy SULLIVAN. They made their home in the Peggs Community.

Janie MOTEN was born October 11, 1961, to Bob and Ruth HARVEY ESKEW in Sallisaw. She lost her battle with breast cancer April 5, 1999.
She was preceded in death by her mother.

Richard was born June 3, 1930 in Stilwell to Jess Sam and Dora Bell HOPPER MCLEMORE. He departed this life April 8, 1999 in Stilwell at the age of 68 years, 10 months and 5 days.
He was known to his family and friends as "Chief." Richard was a retired forklift operator at Stilwell Foods.
He was married to Nancy VANN on August 26, 1970 in Anadarko.
Richard was a member of the Fellowship Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one sister, Frances MORENO; one brother, Jesse D. MCLEMORE; one grandson, Thomas FOURKILLER and one nephew, Art FIELDS, Jr.
Richard is survived by his wife Nancy of the home; three sons, Curtis, Eddie and Roy, all of Okla.; four daughters, Gussie, Mae, Verena and Lena, all of Okla.; one brother, Ronnie of Okla.; six sisters, Verena of Kansas, Margaret, Doris, Shirley and Ginger, all of Okla., and Lula of Texas; and 25 grandchildren.

Funeral services for Thomas Allen BRADSHAW, 63, of Marble City were held Saturday, March 27, 1999 in the Green Country Funeral Home Chapel. Tom was born December 15, 1935, the son of Floy M. JOHNSTON and James K. BRADSHAW in Marble City. He died on March 24, 1999 at Cookson Refuge.
He was raised in the Stilwell and Tahlequah areas.
Thomas was preceded in death by his parents.
He is survived by a brother, Jimmy; a sister, Kerma; a daughter, Tommye Sue; and two sons, James and Sam, all of Okla.
Thomas is also survived by his wife, Glenda of the home, whom he married in 1969 in Miami, Okla.; and by their three daughters, Carol, Casey and Jennifer, all of Okla.; 8 grandsons, and 2 granddaughters.

TERRELL

Dolly Mae TERRELL, daughter of Ira HANCOCK and Lula SMITH HANCOCK was born March 13, 1936 in Lincoln, Ark., and departed this life April 6, 1999 at Fayetteville City Hospital at the age of 63 years and 23 days.
Dolly was married to Jerry TERRELL.
She worked at the Westville Nursing Home as a nurse's aide for a number of years before retiring.
She is preceded in death by both parents; one grandson, Jessie HOWARD and several brothers and sisters.
She is survived by husband, Jerry of the home; one son, Rusty, of Okla.; one daughter, Pam, of Ark.; one brother, Doyle, of Okla.; three grandsons, Justin, Nathan and Zachary, all of Ark.
Funeral services were held Friday, April 9, 1999 in the Roberts Funeral Home Chapel in Westville with Bro. Jim SISCO officiating. Interment followed at the Westville City Cemetery.

CAVIN

Robert Woodrow CAVIN, son of Albert CAVIN and Susan SANDERS CAVIN was born December 24, 1914 in Bunch, Okla., and departed this life at St.Edwards Mercy Medical Center in Fort Smith, April 18, 1999 at the age of 84 years, 3 months and 25 days.
Woody was married to Ruby POLK on April 14, 1938 in the Bunch Community where they made their home before moving into the Stilwell area. He was a member of the Calvary Southern Baptist Church and became a Christian in 1946 from which his life was an example for us all.
He was called into the Armed Services in April 1940 and served until October 1945. He was in the Liberation of the Aleutian Islands, Marshall Islands, Philippine Islands and Rzukyus Islands.
He moved to California after serving in the Army where he worked for the Fresno County Highway Department and there retired after 17 years of service.
He is preceded in death by both parents and one brother, Lawrence CAVIN.
He is survived by wife, Ruby of the home; two brothers, Albert of Okla., and Champ of Wash.; and by nieces and nephews, James, Jonathan, Brandon, James, Angie, Clark, Betty, Mary Ann and Faynelle.
Funeral services were held April 21, 1999 in the Roberts/Reed-Culver Funeral Home Chapel in Stilwell. Interment followed at the Honey Hill Cemetery.

SCOTT

Funeral services for Timothy Gene SCOTT, 21, of Stilwell were held April 15, 1999 at Mulberry Tree Baptist Church with Rev. Gil Hooper officiating. Burial followed in the Mulberry Cemetery under the direction of Reed-Culver Funeral Home of Tahlequah. Pallbearers were Frank L. BROWN, Russell LUETHJE, Stand W. LUETHJE, Scott L. Timothy was born November 14, 1977 at Tahlequah the son of Tommy Gene and Louella Jean ROSS SCOTT and he passed from this life on April 12, 1999 in Cherokee County. Born of seven children, Timothy attended Peavine School and graduated from Stilwell High School in 1995.
He was of the Baptist faith and was saved in 1992.
Mr. SCOTT was preceded in death by his grandparents, Daniel SCOTT Sr., Lola ADAIR-SCOTT, Charlie ROSS Sr., and Elizabeth HOGNER-ROSS.
He is survived by his parents, Tommy and Louella, of the home; four brothers, Frank, James, Stanley and Scott, all of Okla.; two sister, Terri of Okla., and Rhonda of Ark.; six nieces, Alicia, Bethany, Ashley, Jennifer, Amber and Brianna; four nephews, Wyatt, Weston, Joshua and Donovan; five uncles, Charles, Jerry, Terry, John and Danial; four aunts, Ollie, Clara, Barbara and Margie; three cousins, Shawn, Greg and Krissa.

Vince Harold PAYTON, son of David Harold PAYTON and Virginia Sue DUNAWAY PAYTON was born August 20, 1962 in Los Angeles, Calif., and departed this life April 16, 1999 at the age of 36 years, 7 months and 26 days.
Vince and Lynn OLDFIELD were united in marriage on August 31, 1986.
He is preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Ray and Faye DUNAWAY and his paternal grandparents, Willard and Alberta PAYTON.
He leaves behind so many that loved and respected him; his wife Lynn of the home; daughter, Christy; parents, Dave and Virginia of Arizona; his sister, Kathy of Ariz., and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and many other relatives and friends.

Sandra Gail HIGGINS was born July 20, 1948 in Klamath Falls, Oregon, to Edgar and Eva GARDNER ENGLISH. She passed from this earthly realm to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ at her home in the Cave Springs community on April 20, 1999 at the age of 50 years and 9 months.
Sandra leaves her memories to her husband of 16 years and four months, John B. HIGGINS, three daughters, Trissona, Jondra and Hillary and one son, John; one granddaughter, Kara; her mother, Eva; one sister, Euphemia; three brothers, Melvin, Lyle and Woody, all of Okla.
Sandra was preceded in death by her father, Edgar ENGLISH in November 1991 and three infant brothers.

William Bill SANDERS was born July 14, 1904 in Ada to Oscar and Margie SMITH SANDERS. He departed this life April 21, 1999 at the age of 94 years, 9 months and 6 days.
He was married to Ada KNIGHT on November 27, 1923 in Stilwell. Bill was a farmer and was of the Baptist faith.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Ada SANDERS; one brother, Roy SANDERS; one sister, Mettie KIRK; three sons, Sherman, Newell and Sammie SANDERS; one grandson, Jim SANDERS and one great granddaughter, Bethany HUMMINGBIRD.
Bill is survived by one son, W.R.; one daughter, Allene; and one granddaughter, Brenda, all of Okla.; two grandsons, Jack of Okla., and Dale of Ark.; one sister, Myrtle of Okla; 17 great grandchildren; 4 great step grandchildren; 3 great great grandchildren; and 1 great great step grandchild.

GRIMMETT

Funeral services for Turner "Dutch" GRIMMETT, 41, of Oklahoma City were held April 27, 1999 at the Reed-Culver Chapel in Tahlequah, with Rev. Martin CHRISTIE officiating. Burial followed in the Fields Cemetery in Porum.
Pallbearers were Wayne PIGEON, Kevin TAULBEE, Ronnie TAULBEE, Ronnie DAVIS, Judd RAU, Ronnie DAVIS. Honorary pallbearers were G.W. DAVIS and Lamon WEESE.
Mr. GIMMETT was born June 12, 1947 the son of Turner GRIMMETT and Ethel HANDLE-GRIMMETT, and he died April 23, 1999 at Oklahoma City.
He grew up in the Tailholt Community with his grandparents Ellis and Ollie GRIMMETT, and attended school at Tenkiller School, graduating from Tahlequah High School.
In 1980, he married Rosa STEPHENS.
Mr. GRIMMETT was preceded in death by his grandparents Ellis and Ollie GRIMMETT of Tailholt.
Survivors include his wife Rosa; one son, Eric; one step-son, Bob; his father, Turner; his mother, Ethel; one sister, Debra; one half-brother, Darren; and six half-sisters, Dianna, Donna, Devonna, Carmelita, Sherry and Sophie.

Graveside services for Julia Ann DECKARD-CURRY of Stilwell will be held at 2 p.m., Thursday, April 29, 1999 at Barber Cemetery with Rev. Frank DAVIS officiating. Burial will follow under the direction of Reed-Culver Funeral Home of Tahlequah.

Mrs. CURRY was born on November 2, 1967 at Tahlequah the daughter of Luther James DECKARD Jr. and Lula Mae SELLERS-DECKARD and she died April 25, 1999 at Stilwell Memorial Hospital.
She grew up in Tahlequah and attended school at Briggs, graduating from Tahlequah High School.
On July 7, 1990 she married Ocie CURRY at Tahlequah.
Julia was a member of the Church of Christ in Welling.
Mrs. CURRY was preceded in death by her paternal grandparents, and her maternal grandfather.
Survivors include her husband Ocie of the home; one son, Ocie Jr.; her parents; one grandmother, Sallie; one sister, Jamie; and a host of friend and loved ones.

KEETER

Michael Anthony KEETER, son of Clyde WHITE and Sandra June KEETER WHITE was born March 24, 1970 in Fort Smith, and departed this life April 24, 1999 at W.W. Hastings Hospital in Tahlequah at the age of 29 years and 30 days.
Michael attended Stilwell High School and was in the graduating class of 1988.
He is preceded in death by his maternal great grandfather, Tom F. KEETER; paternal grandparents, Lloyd and Lucille WHITE of El Reno; one cousin Stephen CRESS; and one great uncle Gus KEETER.
He is survived by his mother and step-father; Clyde and Sandra; four brothers, Lonnie, Brian, Jeremy and Cody; one sister, Cassie; maternal grandparents, Durward and Betty; maternal great grandmother, Margaret; and one nephew, Brayden, all of Okla.

He was a 1973 graduate of Tahlequah High School.
Darrell is preceded in death by his parents.
He is survived by his wife Lucretia of the home; his children, Valerie, Jennifer and Derrek; and by three brothers, Robert, Kenneth and Earl, all of Okla.

Luther SHARP was born September 5, 1933 in Stilwell to Wiley and Arvell FOSTER SHARP. He departed this life April 9, 1999 in Stilwell at the age of 65 years, 7 months and 4 days.
He served in the United States Army during the Korean War and was also a construction worker for the teamsters Union in California. Luther was of the Catholic faith.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Ruford SHARP, his twin brother, and Edward SHARP; one sister, Wilma TODD and one daughter, Marjorie SHARP.

Charles Levi SOAP was born Feb. 21, 1950 in Stilwell, to Levi and Nancy DUNCAN SOAP. He departed this life May 2, 1999 in Oklahoma City, at the age of 49 years, 2 months and 9 days.
He was a carpenter and a plumber.
Charles was married to Marcia TEEHEE on November 22, 1972 in Stilwell. He was a member of the Salem Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by two sisters, Linda and Helen SOAP and one brother, Henry J. SOAP.
Charles is survived by his wife, Marcia; one son, Charles; three grandchildren, Lindsey, Hunter and Braden; his parents, Levi and Nancy; one sister, Kathy; two brothers, and Eugene and Bobby Gene, all of Okla.

CHUCULATE

Funeral services for Martha Helena CHUCULATE were held April 30, 1999 in the Indian Methodist Church of Stilwell with Francene BIG GOOSE officiating. Burial followed in the Bunch Cemetery under the direction of Hart Funeral Home of Tahlequah.
Serving as pallbearers was David MURPHY, Jason MURPHY, Mike WING, David HARDMAN, George MURPHY and Leo MURPHY.
Martha was born October 20, 1907 in Litchville, North Dakota, the daughter of Detlof Anderson and Esther Marie HELGESON LUNDBECK and departed this life April 28, 1999 in Tahlequah after reaching the age of 91 years, 6 months and 8 days.
Martha taught school in Butte, North Dakota before heeding the voice of her Savior and attending Missionary Training School in Minneapolis. Martha was dispatched to Banuko, French West Africa on December 27, 1932, where she helped establish a church and Sunday School in the bush before returning stateside in early 1937.
Upon her return she was sent to Adair County where she met and married Edward Mounger CHUCULATE. Together, Ed and Martha worked with the Oklahoma Indian Methodist Mission in Northeastern Oklahoma for several years. Ed preceded her in death in 1975.
Her parents and brothers and sisters also preceded her.
She is survived by her two sons, Donald Everett and Daniel Edward, both of Okla.; one sister, Esther of Okla.; and Leo, who was like a son to her, of Ark.; and six grandchildren.

HARRISON

Pauline Jewell HARRISON, daughter of George WINKLER and Ethel EDEN WINKLER was born November 29, 1928 in Stilwell, and departed this life to be with our Lord, April 25, 1999 at Memorial Hospital at the age of 70 years, 4 months and 26 days.
Pauline was married to Alfred HARRISON on September 5, 1947 in Stilwell, and to this union were born eight children; Thomas, Rhonda, Cathy, Steve, Jackie, Patricia, Jimmy and Sandra.
She is preceded in death by both parents, her husband; Alfred HARRISON on March 23, 1982; her oldest son, Thomas E. HARRISON on May 19, 1987; three sisters, Madge WILSON, Callie CUMMINGS and Mabel BROWN; four brothers, Clyde, Columbus, John and Arvle WINKLER.
She is survived by four daughters, Rhonda, Patricia and Sandra, all of Okla., and Cathy of Ark.; three sons, Steve and Jimmy, both of Okla., and Jackie of Ark.; twelve grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.

Edna was married to Lee HAMLIN on October 30, 1923 and to this union were born eight children; Boyd, Bill, Paul, Effie, Wilma, Pearl, Faye and Juanita.
She is preceded in death by both parents; husband, Lee HAMLIN; one son, Boyd "Gabby" HAMLIN, eight grandchildren, one great grandchild, three brothers and four sisters.
She is survived by: two sons, Bill and Paul of Okla.; five daughters, Effie, Pearl, Juanita and Wilma of Okla., and Faye of Ark.; thirty grandchildren, seventy-four great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren.

Ruth BOWER, daughter of Henry SWIMMER and Alcie SKITT SWIMMER, was born July 5, 1923, in Stilwell and departed this life to be with our Lord April 28, 1999 at St. Anthony's Hospital in Oklahoma City, at the age of 75 years, 9 months and 22 days.
She was a seamstress for many years before retirement. She was of the Baptist faith.
She is preceded in death by both parents, two sons, Orville SUNDAY and Bobbie Joe FOURKILLER and one stillborn infant daughter.
She is survived by three sons, Silas, James and J.C.; one daughter, Beverly; and one sister, Carol, all of Okla.; 17 grandchildren and 21 great grandchildren.
A memorial service was conducted in Bethany on Saturday, May 1, at the Bill Merrit Memorial Chapel. Funeral services were held Monday, May 3, at the Mulberry Tree Baptist Church in Stilwell with interment following in the Clear Springs Cemetery under the direction of Roberts/Reed-Culver Funeral Home of Stilwell.

Johnie Layhoma DAVIS, daughter of John P. BUTLER and Elizabeth POPE BUTLER, was born July 19, 1917 in Collinsville and departed this life to be with our Lord, May 6, at her home in Stilwell at the age of 81 years, 9 months and 16 days.
Johnie was married to Charles Woodward DAVIS in 1932 and to this union were born eight children. She was a member of the Central Baptist Church.
She is preceded in death by both parents, John and Elizabeth BUTLER; her husband, Charles Woodward DAVIS; two sisters, Willie BUTLER and Lottie SMITH; and one infant son at birth.
She is survived by two sons, Johnny Wayne and Barney Allen of Okla.; five daughters, Alta, Linda, Ivonn and Patrice of Okla., and Deborah of Ark.; one brother, Jimmy of Okla.; 34 grandchildren and 34 great grandchildren.

Mary MARTIN, daughter of John SAM and Ollie KILLER SAM, was born March 1, 1941 in Stilwell and departed this life to be with our Lord, Wednesday, May 5, at Sparks Regional Medical Center in Fort Smith, Ark., at the age of 58 years, 2 months and 3 days.
She was a homemaker and was a member of the Chuculate Baptist Church.
She is preceded in death by both parents, her husband, John MARTIN; three brothers, Henry SAM, Littlejohn SAM and Lukey WEAVEL; one sister, Magalene SAM, and one step-daughter, Betsy KINGFISHER.
She is survived by one son, Johnnie Dale; one daughter, Wanda; three step-sons, J.B., Phillip and Richard; one step-daughter, Anna Mae; one brother, Leo; one sister, Geneva; and two grandchildren, Ashley and Brandon all of Okla.
Funeral services were held Friday, May 7, at the Chuculate Baptist Church with Rev. John BLACKWOOD officiating. Interment followed at the Killer Mountain Cemetery under the direction of Roberts/Reed-Culver Funeral Home of Stilwell.

Pauline M. ROSS, born January 16, 1925, in Bokoshe, passed away May 5, 1999.
Pauline worked as a dietitian at Tulsa Regional Medical Center.
She was preceded in death by three brothers, Carl, Allen and Marvin REED.
She is survived by her husband Johnny; one son, Jimmy Charles; brothers, Johnny, Claud, Wayne and Paul; sisters, Lavern and Adail; grandchildren Tawnie, Angeline, John, Amanda, Gabe and Angel and great grandchildren, Taylor and Jesse.
Services were held Monday, May 10, 1999 at the Revival Time Tabernacle. Interment followed at the Elm Grove Cemetery in Stilwell under the direction of the Fitzgerald Funeral Service.

Ethel Sarah GREGORY, daughter of John Calvin STUFFLEBEAM and Maggie PAYNE STUFFLEBEAM was born March 21, 1912 in Calico Rock, Ark., and departed this life to be with our Lord, May 13, 1999 at Memorial Hospital in Stilwell at the age of 87 years, 1 month and 21 days.
Ethel was married to Tarlton "T.R." GREGORY on February 11, 1929 in Stilwell and to this union were born six children; Viola, Ella Mae, Elmer, Mildred, Deloris and Joyce.
She was employed with the Stilwell Canning factory for over thirty years before retiring in 1972. She was also a homemaker who enjoyed very much the duties which followed her role as wife, mother and grandmother. She was a member of the Pentecostal Holiness Church in Stilwell for many years.
She is preceded in death by both parents, four brothers and one sister.
She is survived by: husband Tarlton "T.R." of the home; one son, Elmer of Texas; five daughters, Viola of Okla., Ella Mae, Mildred and Deloris of Calif., and Joyce of Texas; fifteen grandchildren, fifteen great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren. She is also survived by a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and many many friends.
Funeral services were held, Saturday, May 15, 1999 in the Roberts/Reed-Culver Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Bobby Cothren officiating. Interment will follow at the Stilwell City Cemetery under the direction of Roberts/Reed-Culver Funeral Home.

DUNCAN

Vivian Pauline DUNCAN died May 12, 1999 in Bristow, at the age of 88. She was born March 12, 1911 in Stilwell to Samuel ROSS and Mattie FORD ROSS.
Mrs. DUNCAN had lived in Bristow most of her life, coming from Stilwell as a young lady. She was a clerk and bookkeeper for the C.R. Anthony Department Store until her retirement in the middle 1980's Mrs. DUNCAN was a member of the First Christian Church, and a devoted mother and grandmother.
Mrs. DUNCAN is survived by one son, Sam; two grandchildren, Lucinda and Sean; five great grandchildren, Vivian, Brody, Jesse, Jasmine and Miranda, all of Okla.
She was preceded in death by three older brothers; Leonard CASWELL, Robert Owen ROSS and Grover ROSS.
Funeral services were held May 14, 1999 at 10:30 a.m. at the First Christian Church in Bristow with Rev. Stephen CONWELL officiating. Interment followed in the Bristow City Cemetery.

Graveside services for George Newton FRENCH were held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, May 14, 1999 at the Old Baptist Mission Cemetery with Pastor Jerry LENHERT officiating. Services were under the direction of Hart Funeral Home in Westville. George Newton FRENCH was born January 14, 1922 in Eufaula to Charley and Annie CHASTEEN FRENCH. He departed this life May 10, 1999 in Siloam Springs, at the age of 77 years, 3 months and 26 days.
He served in the Army Air Corps during W.W.11 and was an electronic technician.
George was married to Elvira HENLEY on August 23, 1943 in Las Vegas, Nev. She preceded him in death on May 22, 1998.
He was also preceded in death by his parents, Charley and Annie FRENCH; two grandchildren and 18 brothers and sisters.
George is survived by his children; Sharon, Noel, Connie and Sandy of Okla., and Gary of Wash.; one brother, Ted of Ark.; one sister, Cleo of Ark.; 12 grandchildren, 24 great grandchildren and 5 great great grandchildren; other relatives, loved ones and friends.

He was born November 18, 1903 in Stilwell, to Daniel Webster and Susan Jane SHIRLEY HILL. He departed this life May 15, 1999 at his home in Stilwell at the age of 95 years, 5 months and 27 days.
John was a retired barber and was a member of the Pentecostal Holiness Church in Stilwell.
He was married to Gracie Jewell BIGBY on November 30, 1925 in Stilwell. She preceded him in death on March 23, 1991.
He was also preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Elmer and Ode HILL; one son-in-law, Harold Ray HART, Sr., and one daughter-in-law Sarah Lou HILL.
John is survived by three daughters; Johnnye Marie of Ark., Leta of Okla, and Janice Sue of Florida; three sons, Joe, Roy and Jerry Bob, all of Okla.; 13 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren and 6 great great grandchildren; and a host of friends and loved ones.

LEACH

Ettie Alice LEACH, daughter of Oney DAVIS and Mary Sue MORRIS DAVIS was born September 11, 1926 in Watts, and departed this life May 14, 1999, at Memorial Hospital in Siloam Springs, at the age of 72 years , 8 months and 2 days.
She was of the Baptist faith.
She is preceded in death by both parents, five brothers, Bill, Buster, Floyd, Agie and O.D. and four sisters, Ola, Mable, Kathleen and Velma.
She is survived by one daughter; Darlene; one granddaughter, Twila; one great granddaughter, Brooklyn, all of Okla.; two brothers Floyd of Okla., and Levi of Calif.; one sister, Pearl of Wash.
Funeral services were held May 17, 1999 at 2:00 p.m. at the Roberts Funeral Home Chapel in Westville with Rev. Jim BEAVERS and Rev. Floyd DAVIS officiating. Interment followed at the Baptist Mission Cemetery under the direction of Roberts Funeral Home.

Margaret Ann LEMIEUX was born September 28, 1916 and passed away May 15, 1999 in San Antonio, Texas.
She was preceded in death by her parents, J.N. and Mary RICHARDS VICK; her sisters, Ola GUFFEY, Addie OLEMAN, Belle HICKS, Myra DUNCAN and Lillie ISAACS; her brothers, Luther, Sim, Nehimiah and Henry VICK.
She is survived by her husband Clarence A. LEMIEUX of the home, and several nieces and nephews. Those from Stilwell are Burnell ISAACS and Delores MARTIN.
Graveside services will be held 10 a.m. Monday, May 24, 1999 at the Stilwell City Cemetery.

Melvin Wayne WATERDOWN, son of Bow WATERDOWN and Sadie MCLEMORE WATERDOWN was born March 6, 1945 in Tahlequah, and departed this life May 9, 1999 at W.W. Hastings Hospital in Tahlequah at the age of 54 years, 2 months and 2 days.
Melvin is preceded in death by his father; Bow WATERDOWN; two brothers, Robert F. and Woodrow WATERDOWN; and one sister, Ollie Mae WATERDOWN.
He is survived by his mother, Sadie; four brothers, Houston, Jack, Byrl Dean and Thomas; two sisters, Mary Frances and Louise, all of Okla.

Nick FOURKILLER Jr., son of Nick FOURKILLER Sr. and Joanna MANUS FOURKILLER was born September 10, 1948 in Tahlequah and departed this life into eternity May 14, 1999 at the Veteran's Hospital in Fayetteville,Ark., at the age of 51 years, 8 months and 3 days.
Nick was a commercial artist and an Army veteran. He was a member of the Fourkiller Baptist Church.
He is preceded in death by his father Nick FOURKILLER Sr., and two brothers, Jimmy FOURKILLER and William "Hooley" FOURKILLER.
He is survived by: one son, Justin; one granddaughter, Jayley; mother, Joanna; three sisters, Louise, Anna and Carolyn, all of Okla.

LASLEY

Maudie Elizabeth LONG LASLEY was born February 22, 1913 in Wauhillau, Adair County, Okla., the sixth of seven children born to Columbs (Newt) and Katie CHRISTIE LONG. She died May 18, 1999 at her home in Tahlequah.
Mrs. LASLEY had retired from her ranch outside Coweta and moved to Tahlequah to "be near her people," in 1975. She was generous to several charities throughout her life.
Maudie was a Cherokee "activist" in the 1960's and 1970's. She was Cherokee and "fiercely" proud of her heritage, often referring to her uncle Ned CHRISTIE's warrior spirit as her own. Full of fire, like Ned, Maudie lived her life ready to take on the world.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, three brothers and three sisters.
She is survived by one sister, Minnie LONG FOREMAN, of Tahlequah, many nephnews, nieces, cousins and a host of other relatives and friends.
Private graveside services were held May 21, 1999 at the Coweta Cemetery. Interment followed under the direction of Green Country Funeral Home of Tahlequah.

BAILEY

Ray BAILEY, 72, of Wellton, Arizona, died Sunday, May 23, at Siloam Springs, Ark.
He was born October 24, 1926 at Texanna, Okla., to John Earl BAILEY, Sr. and Callie Janetta PRIM BAILEY.
He was a veteran of World War 11 serving in the U.S. Navy aboard the cruiser U.S.S. Boston. He served as part of the occupation force after the bombing of Hiroshima for 50 days.
He owned and operated his own sawmill as well as being a farmer. He lived in Stilwell for 26 years before moving to Wellton in 1998 to make his home.
He was a talented musician and singer and was a member of the Sequoyah Baptist Church in Stilwell.
He was preceded in death by his father, and one brother, Leon BAILEY.
Survivors include his wife Jerrietta YOUSEY BAILEY who he married August 2, 1971 in Miami, Okla.; three sons, Bobby, Bill and David, of Okla.; three daughters, Pat, Donna and Brenda of Okla.; his mother Callie of Okla.; one brother, John of Ark.; one sister, Virginia of Calif.; thirteen grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Graveside services were held Wednesday, May 26 at Antioch Cemetery, in McDonald County, Mo., with Bro. Lester CARPENTER officiating. Arrangements are by Sisco Funeral Home, Inc. of Pea Ridge, Ark. Visitation was held 1 to 3 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.

WILLIAMS

Alfred Earl WILLIAMS, son of A.E. WILLIAMS and Bessie ANSPAUGH WILLIAMS, was born August 2, 1911 in Arnett, Okla., and departed this life to be with or Lord, May 21, 1999 at the McLoud Nursing Center in McLoud at the age of 87 years, nine months and 18 days.
Earl was married to Salina FOREMAN on March 31, 1930 and to this union were born three children: Dennis, Donald and Patricia.
He worked as a manufacturing engineer for Boeing Aircraft Company until retirement in 1969.
He was preceded in death by both parents, one sister, Komis GEISERT and one son, Dennis E. WILLIAMS.
He is survived by his wife, Salina; one son, Donald of Okla.; one daughter, Patricia of Okla.; three grandsons, Donn of Okla., Marc of Neb., and Kent of Calif.; five granddaughters, Denise of Okla., Candice, Kimberly and Deborah of Calif., and Michelle of Hawaii.
He is also survived by twelve great grandchildren and many friends.
A memorial service will be held at First Baptist Church of McLoud at 3:00 p.m., Thursday, May 27, 1999 with Pastor Daniel WEAVER officiating. Arrangements for final interment are being handled by Roberts Funeral Home of Westville.

He was married to Barbara EPPERSON on September 10, 1987 in Bentonville, Ark., and was an auto mechanic.
He was preceded in death by his wife and one brother, Kenneth Wayne FLETCHER.
Ronnie is survived by his father, John; his mother Mary both of Okla.; one daughter, Julie; one son, Ronnie II both of Oregon; three brothers, Clifford, Johnny and Roger of Okla.; and one sister Charlotte of Ark.

He was married to Freda NOISEWATER on November 20, 1956 in Stilwell where they made their home. To this union were born five children: Roger Dale, Billy Gene, Jimmy, Carol Ann and Tammie Lynn. On December 11, 1971, Bob was married to Sandy LEWIS.
He worked for many years with the Stilwell City Street Department.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Billy Gay and Gary Don PACK and one infant son.
Bob is survived by six children: Roger Dale, Jimmy, Carol Ann, Tammie Lynn and Bobbie Jean, all of Okla., and Billy Gene of Ark.; 13 grandchildren; and by four sisters, Nadine, Barbara and Sue of Okla., and Linda of Ark.

PORTER

Nedra Corrine PORTER, 85, died Friday, May 28 at Memorial Hospital, Stilwell, Okla. A memorial service will be held at a later date in Berryville, Ark.
She was born September 29, 1913 in Kemmerer, Wyo., the daughter of Lewis Edwin HALBERT and Nellie Jane AHRBERG HALBERT.
She was a graduate of the University of Utah and received her masters degree from the University of Arkansas.
An educator, she tuaght in public schools in Arkansas, Colorado and Florida.
She was married in 1937 to Myron Hall PORTER, who preceded her in death in 1971.
Survivors include a daughter, Penny of Okla., a son, Halbert of New York; three grandchildren, Michael of Wash., Michelle of Okla., and Alex of New York; and two great grandchildren, Matthew and Daniel of Okla.

Mrs. KEYS was born June 14, 1911 at Stilwell, the daughter of Joe L. and Nancy GRITTS GROUNDHOG, and she passed from this life on June 20, 1999 at Tulsa.
She attended Stilwell Schools and Sequoyah Training School.
She married Alfred "Cunnie" KEYS in Welling.
Mrs. KEYS was very active at the V.F.W. Auxiliary #3707, the American Legion Auxiliary #135 and the Hastings Hospital Auxiliary.
She was a former Sunday School teacher at Eldon Baptist church and a long-time member there.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband on December 23, 1956, one son and his wife, Jimmy R. "Rusty" and Pat KEYS; one brother, George GROUNDHOG; one sister, Mary SELLERS; and one grandson, Darrell KEYS.
She is survived by four daughters, Naomi, Fannie, Julia and Charlene, all of Okla.; two sons, C.B. of Colorado and Jack of Arizona; one brother, Dennis of Texas; seven grandchildren, Nancy of Md., Dennis, James and Cindy of of Okla., Louis of Penn., Kelly of Arizona, Jackie of Ill., and John; and three great grandchildren, Lindsey Tyler and Jodi.

Elmer Edward TURMAN, son of Oscar Carol TURMAN and Beulah THURBER TURMAN was born March 4, 1907, in Watts, and departed this life to be with our Lord, Friday, June 18, 1999 at Stilwell Nursing Home in Stilwell at the age of 92 years, 3 months and 13 days.
Elmer was married to Cora PETREE on September 12, 1936 and to this union were born three children; John Carol, Earl Dean and Jerry Lee.
Elmer was employed with Kansas City Southern Railroad until retiring to become a farmer and rancher. He enjoyed spending time with his family and was a member of the Rocky Mountain Bible Church.
He is a World War 11 veteran of Okinawa Pacific.
He is preceded in death by both parents, two sons, John Carol and Earl Dean TURMAN; three brothers, Granvell, Martin and Walter TURMAN and one infant sister, Jessie TURMAN.
He is survived by his wife Cora of the home; one Jerry Lee; one sister, Nellie; three grandsons, Thad, Tannen and Ty; two great grandchildren, Mason and Tallee, all of Okla.

Robert CAIN, Sr. was born March, 30, 1933 in Welling to Floyd and Cosy CALICO CAIN. He departed this life June 16, 1999 in Stilwell at the age of 66 years, 2 months and 17 days.
He served in the United States Navy during the Korean Conflict and served a total of four years in the Navy.
He was a farmer and a former Adair County Commissioner for District 1.
On March 2, 1957, Bob was married to Dot LITTLEJOHN in Tahlequah. He accepted the Lord as his Savior and was of the Christian faith.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two sons, Snooks and Clayton CAIN and one brother, Carl CAIN.

Stanley SOURJOHN was born March 18, 1918 in Webbers Falls, to Levi and Fannie BANTY SOURJOHN. He departed this life June 16, 1999 in Stilwell at the age of 81 years, 2 months and 29 days.
He served in the United States Army during World War 11 and was a construction worker for the Cherokee Nation Community Development.
Stanley was married to Martha Mae CHULIO on March 26, 1946 in Sebastian County, Ark. She preceded him in death on August 25, 1992.
He was also a retired minister and a member of the Elm Tree Baptist Church in Tahlequah and the Cherokee Baptist Association.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Martha SOURJOHN; four brothers and three sisters.
Stanley is survived by one daughter, Jacqueline; one grandson, Jordan; and one granddaughter, Jade, all of Okla.

He served in the United States Air Force during World War 11 and was a retired heavy equipment operator. On August 24, 1948, Charlie was married to Inola LOCUST in Ft. Smith, Ark. He was a member of Salem Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one daughter, Coleta EAGLETON; one son, Roger VICTOR and one sister, Lydia Lou KILLER.
Charlie is survived by his wife, Inola of the home; two daughters, Jean and Linda Sue; one son, Tony; one step-son, Jerry all of Okla.; two brothers, George of Okla. and Phil of Mo.; one sister, Leona of Okla; nine grandchildren and six great grandchildren.

Nancy Ann Marie FAUGHT HEIMRICH was born August 12, 1941 and died on December 24, 1998.

He served in the United States Army and was a laborer. Charley was married to Rachel Mae THIRSTY. He was a member of the Johnson Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Charles is survived by his wife, Rachel; one son, Arthur; one brother, Andrew; one half-sister, Lula Mae; three grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.

Isabella Alice COIL was born June 4, 1906 in Des Moines, Iowa, to John and Minnie ALLAR BATCHELOR. She departed this life on June 25, 1999 in Stilwell at the age of 92 years and 24 days.
She was married to Roger COIL on June 8, 1957 in Muscatine, Iowa. Isabella was of the Lutheran faith and was retired with Stilwell Foods and Canning Company in Stilwell.
Isabella had lived in Stilwell for the past 14 years where she had made many friends. A very special friend, Loudean and her family loved and cared for Isabella until the time of her death.
Isabella is preceded in death by her husband, Roger, her parents, 3 brothers and 5 sisters.
She is survived by her friend Loudean and her family and by one niece and one nephew.

SWEATT

Funeral services for Juanita Ruth SWEATT were held Friday, June 25, 1999 in Hart Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Ralph CANNON and Rev. Loren WELCH officiating. Interment was held Friday in Walnut Grove Cemetery in Crosses, Ark., under the direction of Hart Funeral Home of Westville.
Mrs. SWEATT's grandsons served as pallbearers.
Juanita Ruth SWEATT, daughter of Melvin and Frusie WOODARD WOOD, was born January 30, 1917 in Crosses, Ark., and departed this life June 19, 1999 in Clear Lake, Texas, after reaching the age of 82 years, 4 months, 19 days.
A retired nurse, Juanita was a member of the Family Worship Center in Westville.
She was married to Manlin SWEATT in 1965 in Cincinnati, Ohio.
Mr. SWEATT, her parents, ten brothers and sisters, and one great grandchild also preceded her.
Survivors include six children, Robert, Kathy, Elaine, Ginger, Donna and Frank, all of Texas; one sister, Alta of Okla.; 22 grandchildren; and 12 great grandchildren.

KIRBY

William James KIRBY, son of John F. KIRBY and Minnie E. VAN BEBER KIRBY was born April 24, 1918 in Christie and departed this life to be with our Lord, Sunday, June 27, 1999 at his home in Westville at the age of 81 years, 2 months and 2 days.
Bill was married to Mary Jane MCGOWEN on April 1, 1959 and to this union were born three children, Jed, James and Melanie.
He was a disabled, decorated war veteran of World War 11, having been inducted in the Army on January 10, 1941 and discharged on July 25, 1945 from Fort Chaffee, Ark. He was technical sergeant and platoon leader serving in Europe. He was awarded the Purple Heart, Bronze Star and Combat Infantry Badge. He was a farmer and a member of the Spade Mountain Holiness Church.
He was preceded in death by both parents; one brother, Robert KIRBY and one nephew, Billy Wayne KIRBY.

Floyd worked for the N.S.U. maintenance department.
He died on June 22 in Tahlequah.

Jose Guadalupe REYES, son of Jacinto REYES and Elena IBBARRA REYES was born July 18, 1976 in Durango, Mexico, and departed this life June 30, 1999 in Stilwell at the age of 22 years, 11 months and 11 days.
Jose was a construction worker having moved to the United States approximately one and a half years ago.
He is preceded in death by his father, Jacinto REYES.
He is survived by his mother, Elena; five brothers, Jesus of Okla, Victor, Juan, Jurge and Carlos, all of Mexico; six sisters, Ana of Texas, Alicia, Trini, Isidra, Esthela and Martha, all of Mexico; and his fiancee, Ozalena of Okla.
Viewing for Jose was held Sunday, July 4, 1999 at the Roberts/Reed-Culver Funeral Home in Stilwell. Final disposition will be in Durango, Mexico.

JOHNSON

Retha Mae JOHNSON, daughter of Bollie Lee STAFFORD and Edna Mae PAYNE STAFFORD was born May 4, 1932 in Magazine, Ark., and departed this life to be with our Lord, June 28, 1999 in the Northwest Arkansas Medical Center in Springdale, Ark., at the age of 67 years, 1 month and 23 days.
Retha was married to Thomas W. JOHNSON Jr., on October 17, 1979, and with this union two families were joined together. A mother of five children, Fredia, David, Joyce, Ronnie and Mike and a step-mother to two children, Tommy Lee and Tabatha.
She was a member of the Assembly of God Church.
She is preceded in death by both parents; and one brother, Dean STAFFORD.
She is survived by her husband, Thomas; three sons, David of Arizona and Ronnie and Mike of Okla.; two daughters, Fredia of Calif., and Joyce of Okla.; two step-children, Tommy Lee and Tabatha of Okla.; two sisters, Rena of Calif., and Reba of Ark.; 10 grandchildren, and four great grandchildren.
Funeral services were held July 1, 1999 in the Roberts Funeral Home Chapel in Westville with Bro. Darrell LACIE officiating. Interment will follow at the Kansas Cemetery in Kansas, Okla.

Funeral services for Samuel Junior SWAFFORD were held Friday, July 2, 1999 at the Hart Memorial Chapel with Bro. Jerry GATEWOOD and Bro. Melvin BOOKOUT officiating. Interment followed in the Academy Cemetery.
Samuel Junior SWAFFORD was born February 9, 1966, in Springdale, Ark., to Samuel Lark and Laveda TARKINGTON SWAFFORD. He departed this life July 1, 1999 at his home in Evansville, Ark., at the age of 33 years, 4 months and 20 days.
He was employed as a night watchman at Cal-Maine in Lincoln, Ark., and was of the Baptist faith.
On September 21, 1985, Samuel was married to Christine Sue BOOKOUT in Stilwell. To this union were born two sons, Ethan Samuel and Mason Quade.
He was preceded in death by his father; his maternal grandparents, Buster and Clara TARKINGTON and his paternal grandfather, Jess SWAFFORD.
Samuel is survived by his wife, Christine; two sons, Ethan and Mason of Ark.; his mother Laveda of Ark.; one brother, Larry of Okla.; three sisters, Sheila of Okla., Carolyn and Kathy, both of Ark.; and his grandmother, Bertha, also of Ark.

FOWLER

Funeral services for Clint FOWLER were held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, July 7, 1999 at the Hart Memorial Chapel in Stilwell with Bro. Vernon FOWLER officiating. Interment followed at the Stilwell City Cemetery.
Clint FOWLER was born July 11, 1927 in Picher, to William Audie and Nettie CRANFORD FOWLER. He departed this life July 4, 1999 at his home in Stilwell at the age of 71 years 11 months and 24 days.
He served in the U.S. Marines and was a retired structural mechanic for American Airlines.
On October 3, 1949 Clint was married to Josephine FEATHERS in Van Buren Ark. She preceded him in death on October 31, 1986. To this union were born five children; Matt, Danny, Audie, Jan and Latonna.
He was a member of the Rodeo Cowboy Association, First Baptist Church in Lincoln, Ark., and was a former deacon at the Riverview Baptist church in Bixby.
Clint was married to Ginger NORTHINGTON on April 8, 1999 in Van Buren Ark.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his first wife, Josephine FEATHERS FOWLER; one son, Audie Dean FOWLER and one sister, Dorothy GOLDMAN.
Clint is survived by his wife, Ginger; two daughters, Jan and Latonna of Okla.; two sons, Danny and Matt of Okla.; one sister Barbara of La.; 7 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren.

Alta Mae MARTIN WYTALIER, was born near Westville, to George R. and Mable CARPENTER MARTIN on August 26, 1940. She departed this life to be with our Lord and Savior at Memorial Hospital in Stilwell, at the age of 58 years, 10 months and 13 days. She was of the Holiness faith.
She was united in marriage to Isaac Benton WYTALIER on August 17, 1956 in Oklahoma City. Alta was employed at Stilwell Foods for the past 11 years and was a homemaker.
She was preceded in death by both parents; three sisters, one brother and one granddaughter.
Alta is survived by her husband; one son, Ike, Jr.; three daughters, Donna, Judy and Peggy Sue, all of Okla.; one granddaughter, nine grandsons and two great grandsons; three sisters, Alma of Ark., and Liz and Yvonne, of Okla.; and five brothers, Kenneth and Robert of Kansas, Leon of Mo., Leroy of Ark., and Lonnie of Okla.

Jack Lee SANDERS was born March 28, 1937 in Stilwell to Baxter SANDERS and Bessy PETTIT-SANDERS, both of Stilwell, and departed this life July 9, 1999 at Sparks Regional Medical Center in Fort Smith, Ark., at the age of 62 years, 3 months and 10 days.
He is preceded in death by both parents; and two brothers, Robert and Lonnie SANDERS of Stilwell.
He is survived by his wife of fifty years, Ruby; three daughters, Jackie, Rhonda and Janice; two sons, Jack Jr. and Billy Jack; two brothers, Dave and Felix; two sisters, Ella Mae and Ollie, all of Okla.; 11 grandchldren, and six great grandchildren.

Ray Thomas VAUGHN was born May 13, 1923 in Stilwell, to Claude and Dora VAUGHN. He departed this life July 11, 1999 in Siloam Springs, Ark., at the age of 76 years, 1 month and 28 days.
He was a saw mill operator and farmer. On February 5, 1946, Ray was married to Sylvia VAN BIBBER in Fayetteville, Ark.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers; two sisters and one daughter, Carolyn Sue SCHULTZ.
Ray is survived by his wife, Sylvia; one son, Georgie Lee; one daughter, Ruby Jean; 7 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren; one brother, Henry; two sisters, Pearley and Effie Jean, all of Okla.

TUCKER

Funeral services for Harold V. TUCKER, 73 of Rosenburg, Tex., were held Tuesday, July 13 at the Garmany & Carden Funeral Home Chapel in Rosenburg. Burial followed in the Rosenburg City Cemetery.
Mr. TUCKER passed away Saturday, July 10 at home with his family. He was born February 17, 1926 in Stilwell.
A proud member of the Cherokee Nation, he also served his country proudly for 22 years in the military.
He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Marjorie; sons, Leonard and Thomas; daughters, Trina and Stacie; grandchildren, Rick, Gregory, Miranda, Ashley, Lisa, Kim, Jay, Blake, Jennifer and Farrah; great grandchildren, Kevin, Jeremy, Angie and Isaac; sisters, Clemmie and Jewel of Okla., and Cletus of Ark.
He was preceded in death by his parents Adolphus and Sarah TUCKER.

GLASS

Hubert GLASS, son of Harve GLASS and Georgie BROWN GLASS was born May 7, 1922 in Keafton, and departed this life to be with his Lord, Tuesday, July 13, 1999 at his home in Stilwell at the age of 77 years, 2 months and 5 days.
Hubert was married to Modell VANCE on May 21, 1972, and with this union he became a father to two step-children, Barbara and Bryce.
Hubert is preceded in death by both parents and many brothers and sisters.
He is survived by his wife; one step-daughter, Barbara of Wash.; one step-son, Bryce of Calif.; one grandchild and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and many, many friends and other loved ones.

Zelma FOSTER TURNER of Shawnee, died on Tuesday, July 13, 1999, at the age of 85 years. Zelma was born on December 18, 1913 to Rufus Sutt BECK and Minnie Elizabeth GREEN BECK in Bernice.
She was married to Delmar FOSTER who died in 1942, and was then married to E.D. TURNER. She was a member of the Church of Christ.
She is preceded in death by both parents, frist husband, one brother and two sisters.
She is survived by her husband; one son, Dean; four daughters, Carlene, Betty and Sue of Okla., and Polly of New Mexico; 14 grandchildren; 30 great grandchildren; and one brother, Bill of Okla.
Services were held on Thursday, July 15, 1999 at 2 p.m. at the Roesch-Walker Funeral Chapel. The minister was Mr. Dwayne DENNIS. Burial was in the Resthaven Memorial Park under the direction of Roesch-Walker Funeral Chapel.

JAHAY

Mr. Paul Eugene JAHAY, son of Henry JAHAY and Jenny ATKINSON JAHAY, was born July 14, 1939 in Woodward, and departed this life to be with our Lord, Thursday, July 15, 1999 in Sallisaw at the age of 66 years.
Paul was a heavy equipment operator and farmer. He raised horses and mules and was a member of Okie/Arkie Trailriders Assoc. Paul was of the Baptist faith.
He is survived by two daughters, Kathy and Karen; one son Gary; one sister, Thelma, all of Okla.; one brother, Homer of Kansas; companion, Iris of Okla; and five grandchildren.
Funeral services for Paul JAHAY were held Monday, July 19, 1999 in the Akins Assembly of God Church with Monroe LOWRIMORE officiating. The body was taken to Mid South Crematory in Ft. Smith, Ark. Funeral arrangements were under the direction of Agent Funeral Home Inc. of Sallisaw.

KLATT

Graveside services for Jewel KLATT were held Tuesday, July 20, 1999 at the Caney Cemetery with Rev. Bill ROUNTREE officiating. Services were under the direction of Hart Funeral Home of Stilwell.
Jewel was born May 15, 1919 in Hungry Mountain, to Loranza Dow and Ora ALLEN CONE. She departed this life July 14, 1999 at the Eastern New Mexico Medical Center in Roswell, New Mexico at the age of 80 years and two months.
She was married to Maurice KLATT in 1939 in Fresno, Calif. He preceded her in death in 1973. Jewel had been a resident of Artesia, New Mexico for 11 years and had retired as a food service worker for the P.V.U.S.D. in Watsonvillee, Calif.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; one sister, Marie Bailey and one brother, Hrschel CONE.
Jewel is survived by three sons, Phillip of Oregon, Henry of Calif and Paul of Ill.; one daughter Carol of New Mexico; two brothers, Carl and L.C., both of Okla.; one sister Frances of Colo.; six grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren, several nieces, nephews, loved ones and friends.

Funeral services for Arlene GOODMONEY, 62, of Stilwell, were held at 1 p.m. Thursday, July 22, 1999 at Echota Baptist Church with Rev. Ellis FOSTER officiating. Burial followed in the Echota Church Cemetery under the direction of the Reed-Culver Funeral Home of Tahlequah. There was a wake service Wednesday night start at the Echota Baptist Church.
Ms. GOODMONEY was born March 25, 1937 in Adair County, the daughter of Alonzo and Sally BLACKBIRD GOODMONEY, and she died July 22, 1999 at Tulsa.
She grew up in Wyandotte, with her parents and attended Wyandotte School. Ms. GOODMONEY was preceded in death by her parents; one brother, Donald Lee GOODMONEY and one half brother, Nelson GOODMONEY.
Survivors include four brothers, Jim, Wilkie Joe, Sam and Timothy, all of Okla.; four sisters, Linda of Calif., and Lena, Lucy and Louise, of Okla.

Helen WARD BAKER was born May 29, 1913 in Stilwell, to James and Anna Leota WARD. She departed this life July 19, 1999 in Tulsa, at the age of 86 years, 1 month and 20 days.
She was a retired teacher and was a member of the Mountain View Freewill Baptist Church in Westville.
She was preceded in death by her parents and two sons, James Ward BAKER and George R. BAKER.
Helen is survived by two sons, Tom and Mack of Okla.; six grandchildren, Amanda, David, Michael, Kevin and Tina of Okla., and Tomie of Colo.; and two great grandchildren, Perry and Chelsea, also of Okla.

MAYFIELD

Kathleen Jessica MAYFIELD, daughter of Jesse and Maxine CAMPBELL JOHNSON was born February 16, 1948 in Stockton, Calif. She departed this life to be with the Lord on July 23, 1999 at her home in Stilwell, at the age of 51 years, 5 months and 6 days.
Kathleen was married to Charles MAYFIELD on February 15, 1970 and to this union were born two children, Jessica and Sara.
She and her husband Charles lived in Manteca, Calif., before moving to Stilwell in December of 1996. She loved gospel music and attending church at the Trinity Full Gospel Church.
She is survived by her husband Charles of the home; two daughters, Jessica of Calif., and Sara of Okla.; her mother, Maxine of Calif., and a granddaughter, Jennifer, also of Calif.
Graveside services were held Tuesday, July 27, 1999 at the Ewing Chapel Cemetery in Stilwell, with Bro. Jim NOBLE officiating. Arrangements under the direction of Roberts/Reed-Culver Funeral Home in Stilwell.

NOISEWATER

Funeral services for Katie NOISEWATER, 89, of Stilwell, were held Tuesday, July 27, 1999 at Salem Baptist Church with Bro. Lawrence EAGLE officiating. Burial followed in the Salem Baptist Cemetery under the direction of the Reed-Culver Funeral Home of Tahlequah.
Pallbearers were Felix LIVERS, George LIVERS, James STEPHENSON, Jonathan NOISEWATER, George NOISEWATER and Chris NOISEWATER. Honorary pallbearers were Beau SIXKILLER, B.B. RICHARD, Johnny RAY, and Jimmy Ray LIVERS, Dustin and T.J. NOISEWATER.
Ms. NOISEWATER, one of four children was born December 28, 1909 at Sallie Bull Hollow Community, the daughter of George and Lizzie SAWNEY COCHRUM, and she passed from this life on July 24, 199 at Stilwell.
She attended Bell School as a child. She met and married French NOISEWATER and together they raised six children. She was a member of the Salem Baptist Church.
Ms. NOISEWATER was preceded in death by her parents, her husband French; two daughters, Irene ADAIR, and Annie Mae THIRSTY; one son, Jack NOISEWATER; two sisters, Alice LIVERS and Minnie VANN; and three great grandchildren.
Survivors include one daughter, Lena; two sons, John and George; one brother, Henry all of Okla.; twelve grandchildren and nineteen great grandchildren.

TAREPEN

Funeral services for John Hubert "Moxey" TAREPEN were held July 21, 1999 at the Hart Memorial Chapel with Rev. Sanders MCLEMORE officiating. Interment followed at the Tyler Springs Cemetery.
Mr. TAREPEN was born February 18, 1926 in Stilwell, Okla., to Gabriel and Lula SHELL TAREPEN. He departed this life July 17, 1999 in Talihina, Okla., at the age of 73 years, 4 months and 27 days.
He served in the United States Army and received the Theatre Ribbon Bronze Star, World War 11 Victory Medal and the Good Conduct Medal. He was very proud of his Army awards. Moxey was also a construction worker and a member of the Fourkiller Baptist Church. He loved and played baseball as a young man.
He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Andrew, Richard and Steve TAREPEN; one infant sister; one grandson, Jason GRIGSBY and one son-in-law, Roy GRIGSBY.
Moxey is survived by two daughters, Dorothy of Okla., and Cora of Calif.; two sons, John and James, both of Okla.; two grandsons, Nick of Okla., and Joe of Calif.; and one nephew, William of Okla.

Joe DOBBINS was born July 28, 1912 in Aurora, Mo., to Charles R. and Marie SCHNUR DOBBINS. He departed this life August 3, 1999 in Stilwell at the age of 87 years and 6 days.
He served in the United States Army Air Corp during World War 11. On November 7, 1949, Joe was married to Betty GAINES in Stilwell. He worked as a typesetter printer for the Democrat Journal for 20 years and was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Stilwell.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Val DOBBINS and one sister, Josephine DEJARNATT.
Joe is survived by his wife Betty; one son, Ray; two granddaughters, Kristie and Karin; and two great grandchildren, Heather and Tyler, all of Okla.

THOMPSON

Myrtle THOMPSON, daughter of Mike E. DAVIDSON and Elizabeth ROBERTS DAVIDSON was born January 13, 1909 in Beggs, and departed this life to be with our Lord, Friday, July 30, 1999 at her home in Westville, at the age of 90 years, 6 months and 16 days.
Myrtle was married to Albert THOMPSON on July 24, 1927 and to this union were born eight children, Ella Mae, Elizabeth, Margaret, Lewis, Arthur, James, Virginia and Eva.
She is preceded in death by both parents; her husband; two daughters, Eva Leona BOWLES in 1960 and Virginia Irene WALKER in 1993. She is also precede in death by seven grandchildren.
She is survived by: three daughters, Ella Mae, of Calif., and Elizabeth and Margaret of Okla.; three sons, Lewis, Arthur and James of Okla.; 20 grandchildren, 33 great grandchildren and five great great grandchildren.

Woodall OWL, son of Daniel OWL and Lizzie VANN OWL was born February 16, 1939 in Bunch, and departed this life to be with our Lord, Saturday, July 31, 1999 at Memorial Hospital in Stilwell at the age of 60 years, 5 months and 14 days.
Woodall was married to Rosie SAM on July 15, 1966 and to this union were born eight children; Elizabeth, Jennifer, Sherry, Tina, Woodall, Jr., Sabrina, Angela and Eugene.
Woodall was a faithful Christian and was always willing to share the word of God. He took joy in fellowshipping with others through singing, testimony and prayer. Despite his battle with cancer, he always kept his faith. The Bible says in Philippians 1:21 "For me to live is Christ, and to die is gain.
He is preceded in death by both parents; one son, Eugene OWL; two sisters, Mary WATERS and Peggie WILLIAMS; and two brothers, Joe OWL and Sam OWL.
He is survived by his wife; one son, Woodall Jr. of Okla.; six daughters, Elizabeth of Ark., Jennifer, Sherry, Tina, Sabrina and Angela, all of Okla.; four brothers, Daylight, Steven, Daniel Lee and Sam, all of Okla.; three sisters, Nancy, Nellie and Lucy, all of Okla.; and by 15 grandchildren.

RICH

Zerl William RICH, son of William Harvey RICH and Annie I. VANDERPOOL RICH was born March 8, 1918 in Wayton, Ark., and departed this life to be with our Lord, Thursday, July 22, 1999 at the Stilwell Nursing Home at the age of 81 years, 4 months and 13 days.
Zerl was married to Nancy Edna WATSON on April 24, 1946. He was a World War 11 Veteran of the United States Army. Together he and Edna owned and operated a dairy bar in Stilwell for a number of years before retiring to be a full time farmer and rancher.
He is precede in death by both parents; wife Edna RICH on July 28, 1998; two brothers, Sherman RICH and Ervin RICH; and two sisters, Nola TAYLOR and Hester STRODE.
He is survived by: one brother, Harvey of Okla.; two sisters, Priscilla and Clara, both of Ark.

Jess SELLERS, son of Josiah SELLERS and Patsy SKITT SELLERS, was born February 8, 1914 in Stilwell and departed this life to be with our Lord, Wednesday, July 28, 1999 at Memorial Hospital in Stilwell at the age of 85 years, 5 months and 19 days.
Jess was married to Jewell Elizabeth BOX on August 29, 1936 and to this union were born five children; Linda Sue, Addilee, Jesse James, Tom and Bobby Joe.
Jess worked for the Kansas City Southern railroad before retirement.
He is preceded in death by both parents; his wife, Jewell in 1995; one son, Bobby Joe SELLERS in 1989; one brother, John SELLERS; one grandson, Daniel Ray SPURGIN in 1991; and one granddaughter, Tammy Lania SELLERS.
He is survived by: two sons, Jesse James of Nev., and Tom of Calif.; two daughters, Linda and Addilee, both of Okla.; one brother, Levi of Okla.; 15 grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren.

Rasmus Sequoyah HUMMINGBIRD was born August 13, 1913 to George and Mary Nellie THORNTON HUMMINGBIRD in Stilwell.
Rasmus went to be with our Lord Jesus, August 1, 1999 from his home in Tulsa. He was a member, and had served as an elder of First Christian church in Sapulpa. A veteran of W.W.11. He was a retired school administrator of the Sapulpa School system.
He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers, Allison, Wilson and infant Lincoln HUMMINGBIRD. Two sisters, Lucille KREIGHBAUM and infant Agnes HUMMINGBIRD. One grandson, Donald BEARTRACT Jr.
Survivors are his wife of 62 years, Ruby; one son, George; one daughter Newanna, all of Okla.; three grandsons; two granddaughters; one great grandson; two great granddaughters; two sisters, Louella and Elizabeth of Okla.; six nephews; and eight nieces.
Funeral services were held August 5, 1999. Gary SHEELY and Russell CASEY, clergymen of the First Christian Church officiated the services. Interment was at Memorial Park Cemetery, Tulsa, Okla. Arrangements were by Smith Funeral Home, Sapulpa, Okla.

GOODMAN

Ida Mae GOODMAN, daughter of Henry CHOATE and Ada EDMISTON CHOATE was born October 27, 1906 in Westville, and departed this life to be with our Lord, Friday, August 6, 1999 at Memorial Hospital in Stilwell, at the age of 92 years, 9 months and 9 days.
Ida was married to Albert GOODMAN on February 15, 1929 and to this union was born one child Geraldine GOODMAN.
Ida worked for the Akin Lumber Company a number of years before retiring. She became a Christian in 1940 when she was saved at the Wright's Chapel church. She was secretary of the church for many years always being a dedicated and faithful member.
She is preceded in death by both parents; husband; four brothers, Luther, Roy, Carl and Floyd CHOATE; three sisters, Eula HOLLAND, Ollie GREEN and Elsie CHOATE.
She is survived by one daughter, Geraldine of Okla.; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, August 10, 1999 in the Roberts Funeral Home Chapel in Westville with Bro. Mathew BUZZARD and Bro. Mike HAYES officiating. Interment followed at the Westville City Cemetery.

LAMONT

Funeral service for Jo Anne LAMONT were held Wednesday, August 11 at Crescent Valley Baptist Church with Rev. David WHITE officiating. Burial followed in Holland Cemetery under the direction of Hart Funeral Home of Tahlequah.
Serving as pallbearers were Kent, Larry, Kim and Bobby FARGUSTON, Gregory WILSON, and Billy Ray WHITE.
Jo Anne LAMONT, daughter of Jack Robert and Sarah Ellen WHITE FARGUSON, was born February 4, 1947 in Muskogee, and died Sunday, August 8, 1999 in Tahlequah at the age of 52 years, 6 months and 4 days.
Jo Anne was a retail clerk and was of the Baptist faith.
She is survived by her parents; two children, Robert and Daleana; one brother, Kenneth; one sister, Connie, all of Okla.

GATES

Johnie Lee GATES, son of John Elbert and Nannie Ethel GATES, was born February 2, 1943 near Stonewall, and departed this life July 21, 1999 at Memorial Hospital in Stilwell, at the age of 56 years.
He attended Crooked Oak High School and Capital Hill High School in Oklahoma City and was the first in his family to graduate from high school. Later he attended Oklahoma State University and Central State College.
On February 9, 1968 he married Cynthia Ann VOLZ in Oklahoma City. They were married for 31 years. They had two children, Michael Lee Todd GATES, who died as an infant, and John William.
Johnie worked in the Oklahoma city area for the Schwartz Dairy Farm in the early 70's. He was a master breeder of race and show horses, and of championship chickens, of which he was greatly proud.
Johnie was an active member of First Presbyterian Church in Tahlequah, a hard worker, a man of gentle wit and a faithful husband.
He is survived by his wife; son, John William; granddaughter, Neysa Marie of New Mexico; brother, Wallace; sisters, Eula of New Mexico, Ella of Calif., Patsy of Texas, Louise and Wanda Lou of Okla.
He is preceded in death by his parents; infant son; and sister Ellen Elizabeth GATES.
Memorial services were held Saturday, July 24, 1999 at the First Presbyterian church in Tahlequah.

BURGESS

Funeral services for Troy BURGESS were held August 9, 1999 at the Freewater Baptist Church with Bro. Wiley LOVEJOY and Bro. Lenard POOR officiating. Interment was in the Freewater Cemetery under the direction of Hart Funeral Home of Stilwell.
Troy BURGESS was born March 12, 1923 in Cherokee County, to John and Stella DEASON BURGESS. He departed this life August 5, 1999 in rural San Juan County near Silverton, Colo., at the age of 76 years, 4 months and 24 days.
He was employed with Ozarks Electric Company. He had also served in the United States Army during World War 11. During his service time, Troy was awarded several medals including the Bronze Star, American Campaign, Army Good Conduct, Victory, European, African, Middle Eastern Campaign, Honorable Service, Qualification Combat Infantryman Army 1st Award and Rifle. Troy was saved in 1990 and was of the Christian faith.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Ruby BURGESS.
Troy is survived by two brothers, CeciL and Earl; one sister, Evie; one niece, Diann, all of Okla.; one nephew Leroy of Kansas; five great nieces and nephews and a host of cousins, loved ones and friends.

ISAACS

Vera Mae ISAACS, daughter of Earl FLOYD and Dona KELLY FLOYD was born September 3, 1915 in Franklin County, Ark., and departed this life to be with our Lord Saturday, August 7, 1999 at the Stilwell Nursing Home in Stilwell, at the age of 83 years, 11 months and 3 days.
Vera was married to Allen ISAACS on September 7, 1935 and to this union were born three children, Wayne, Ray and Lorene.
She is preceded in death by both parents; her husband; one son, Allen Ray; daughter-in-law, Mary Jo ISAACS and five sisters, Helen WOLSEY, Florence ISAACS, Jewel ROSS, Ruth DALE and Ruby WOOD.
She is survived by one son, Wayne; one daughter, Lorene; three grandchildren, Sharon, Danny and Doug, all of Okla.;and a host of nieces and nephews.

MARSHALL

Wanda Louise MARSHALL, daughter of James A. ELROD and Essie Mae WRIGHT ELROD was born March 7, 1932 in Bristow, and departed this life to be with our Lord, Thursday, August 5, 1999 at Memorial Hospital in Stilwell at the age of 67 years, 4 months and 28 days.
Wanda was married to Don MARSHALL on May 28, 1954 and to this union were born seven children, Roger, Tommy, Donnie, Mark, Billie Louise, Belinda and Carolyn.
Wanda was dedicated to her family and worked at Maryetta School where she was a foster grandparent for nearly five years. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Stilwell for a number of years.
She is preceded in death by both parents; husband Don in 1993, one son, Roger Dale MARSHALL in 1967 and one brother Gene ELROD.
She is survived by three sons, Tommy, Donnie and Mark, all of Okla.; three daughters, Billie Louise of Calif., Belinda of Mo., and Carolyn of Okla.; three brothers, James of Fla., Junior and Tommy of Okla.; three sisters, Joyce of Mich., Lois and Della Jo of Okla.; 14 grandchildren; and 2 great grandchildren.

Edgar Wesley MAGGARD, son of John MAGGARD and Belle Catherine WOODWARD MAGGARD was born February 20, 1915 in Vience, Ark., and departed this life to be with our Lord, Thursday, August 5, 1999 at his home in Westville, at the age of 84 years, 5 months and 15 days.
Edgar was married to Eva Mae BEARD on June 24, 1938 and to this union were born five children; Phyllis, Letha, Sharon, Linnie and Winford. He was a resident of the Westville area since 1932 where he enjoyed working the farm and spending time with his family and friends.
He is preceded in death by both parents; one grandchild, Scott GOLDMAN; one brother, Floyd MAGGARD; and two sisters, Lodema SWEET and Lori DOTSON.
He is survived by his wife; one son, Winford of Okla.; four daughters, Phyllis, Sharon and Linnie of Okla., and Letha of Ga.; three brothers, Ancil, Neil and Kenneth, of Okla.; and one sister, Lovada of Okla.; also by 12 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews other relatives and many, many friends.

Services were under the direction of Hart Funeral Home of Stilwell. Barbara M. BRUNER was born February 1, 1923 in Brooklyn, N.Y. to William George and Marie HART MCCLOUD. She departed this life August 11, 1999 in Tulsa at the age of 76 years, 6 months and 10 days.
She was a homemaker and was of the Baptist faith. On September 5, 1953, Barbara was married to Willard Lonzo BRUNER. He preceded her in death on August 10, 1994. She was also preceded in death by her parents.
Barbara is survived by one daughter, Carol of Texas; one son, Earl of Va.; two grandchildren, Tyson and Elizabeth both of Va., and one brother, George of N.Y.

DIXON

Joseph Allen (Dean) DIXON, Jr., son of Joseph Allen DIXON and Bertha Catherine CASEY DIXON was born July 23, 1926 in Watts and departed this life to be with our Lord, Tuesday, Auaust 10, 1999 at his home in Watts at the age of 73 years and 17 days.
Joseph was married to Laura Grace SELF and to this union were born three children; Danny, Patricia and Karen.
He is preceded in death by both parents, one infant daughter; Linda and one infant grandson, one brother and three sisters.
He is survived by his wife Laura of the home; two sons, Danny of Okla., and Joseph of Calif.; two daughters, Patricia of Minn. and Karen of Okla.; two brothers, Carl and Bud both of Okla.; three sisters, Mable and Anna of Ark., and Geraldine of Ore.; ten grandchildren; and five great grandchildren.

DUMLER

R. Michael DUMLER, 46, of Texhoma, died Wednesday, August 11, 1999 at Independence, Kan. Funeral services were held 2 p.m. Saturday, August 14, 1999 at the Hart Memorial Chapel with Rev. Dane LEMMONS officiating. Burial was at the Downing Cemetery under the direction of Hart Funeral Home of Stilwell.
Mike was born April 1, 1953 in Cherokee.
He graduated from Burlington High School in 1971 and from Midwest Christian College in 1982. Mike has been a minister at the First Christian Church in Texhoma for 11 years. He was active in Chamber of Commerce and the Rotary Club. He was president of the Ministerial Alliance and was chaplain at Next Stop Network, Panhandle Treatment Center in Guymon.
On May 20, 1972, he married Brenda SWEPSTON in Oklahoma City, who survives. Other survivors include three children; Eric, Jaynann and Julie, all of the home; his mother, Virginia of Okla. his father, Bob of Kan.; two sisters, Joyce of Okla., and Sue of Iowa; and his mother-in-law, Jayne of Okla.
A memorial has been established at the First National Bank, Texhoma, for the children's educational fund.

Ida Louise Emiline FLEIG was born July 4, 1913 in Watts to Wesley and Russia PIERCE JONES. She departed this life August 14, 1999 in Westville at the age of 86 years, 1 month and 11 days.
She was a nurse's aid and was of the Baptist faith.
On March 2, 1928, Ida was married to William Everett FLEIG in Stilwell. He preceded her in death on August 7, 1985. She was also preceded in death by her parents; and one sister, Marie JORDAN.
Ida is survived by six children: Gene, Billye and Mary Lou of Okla., Joe of Utah, Harold of Calif., and Jerry of Ariz.; 13 grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren and four great great grandchildren; and one sister, Faye of Okla.

KELLEY

Maggie Catherine WATERS KELLEY, daughter of Mose Buckskin WATERS and Carrie Ann FIELDS WATERS was born January 12, 1909 in Vian and departed this life to be with our Lord, Wednesday August 11, 1999 at her son's home in Tulsa at the age of 90 years, 6 months and 30 days.
Maggie was married to Byrl Elbert KELLEY on February 19, 1932 and to this union were born two chldren, Shirley Ann and Byurl David.
She was a homemaker and enjoyed and took pride in her family. She enjoyed also, attending church services and Bible study. Together, Byrl and Maggie owned and operated Kelley's Department Store in Stilwell for many years. She also taught school in the Adair County area for a numbe of years.
She is preceded in death by both parents; her husband; five brothers, George, Howard, Jack, Paul and David WATERS and one sister, Ermma Lee SKELTON.
She is survived by one son, Byrl David and one daughter Shirley Ann, both of Okla.; five grandchildren, two great grandchildren and one great great grandchild; and by a host of nieces and nephews.

Inez was married to Jack MCLEOD in 1947. She was a librarian for many years before retirement for the Swchlumber Glen Oil Company. She took pride in her family and enjoyed spending time with family and friends.
She is preceded in death by both parents; her husband, Jack MCLEOD in 1960; six brothers, Floyd, Otis, Orville, Loy Odell and Edward NICKENS, and one sister, Gladys Alyene NICKENS.
She is survived by: one sister, Joyce; two nephews, Victor and Daryl, all of Okla.; and by many nieces and nephews.

Thomas Joe SPEARMAN, son of Richard ACORN and Judith A. WEST ACORN was born February 22, 1966 in Fort Smith, Arkansas, and departed this life into eternity on Sunday, August 8, 1999 at his home in Stilwell at the age of 33 years, 5 months and 16 days.
Tommy was married to Rebecca COLE on September 2, 1988 and to this union were born two children; Tiffany and Whitney.
He was a carpenter and enjoyed spending time with his family and friends.
He is preceded in death by both his maternal and paternal grandparents.
He is survived by his wife Becky of the home; his both daughters of Okla.; five sisters, Paula, Carla, Tina, Renetta and Scerita all of Okla.; and several aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.

Sandra June WHITE, daughter of Durward KEETER and Betty June THORNE KEETER was born July 27, 1949 in Santa Cruz, Calif., and departed this life, Tuesday, August 10, 1999 in Watts at the age of 50 years and 13 days.
Sandy graduated from Northside High School in Fort Smith, Ark. She was employed by Staffmark at Gates Rubber Company in Siloam Springs, Ark. She was of the Methodist faith.
She is preceded in death by her paternal grandfather, Tom KEETER; one son, Mike KEETER; one nephew, Stephen CRESS; one uncle, Gus KEETER; and her mother and father-in-law, Lucille and Loyd WHITE.
She is survived by her husband Clyde; her parents, Durward and Betty June; four sons, Lonnie, Brian, Jeremy and Cody; one daughter, Cassie; one sister, Tommie; one brother, Jimmie, all of Okla.; and by one niece, Jennifer of Germany.

Services for Jim CORKRAN, of Wagoner were held Wednesday, August 18, at the U.S. National Cemetery in Ft. Gibson, with Rev. Joe MYERS officiating. Funeral services are under the direction of Shipman Funeral Home and Crematory in Wagoner.
Jim was born to Olwen and Sarah CORKRAN, Sr. in Tiptonville, Tenn., on July 26, 1932.
He died Sunday, August 14, 1999 in Wagoner at the age of 67. Jim was a member of Wagoner Community for the past 18 years. He served in the Air Force from 1951 until his retirement as a Master Sgt. in 1974. Jim served his country in both Korea and Vietnam. He was a lifetime member of the D.A.V., a member of the Muskogee V.F.W. and American Legion.
Jim married Sandra COTNEY CUNNINGHAM in Wagoner on November 24, 1982. He was preceded in death by his parents; one step-son, Billy Bob CUNNINGHAM and one step-grandchild, Jeffery E. CUNNINGHAM.
Jim is survived by his wife Sandra of the home; three stepsons, Roy of Mass., Virgil and Johnny of Okla.; one daughter, Annette of Ga.; two step-daughters, Jessie and Mary of Okla.; one brother, Charles of Miss.; thirteen grandchildren and fifteen great grandchildren.

GUESS

Marylynn Kay GUESS, 62, died Friday, July 23, 1999 in Chico, California. A native of Stilwell, she was born May 17, 1937. She had been a resident of Chester, Calif., since 1949. GUESS retired as an administrative officer for the U.S. Forest service after 36 years of service.
A long time stalwart with the Chester Church of Christ, she taught Sundy School and served as a bus drive with the churches Joy Bus Ministries.
She is survived by brothers, Millard of Calif., Pershing and Bill of Okla.; sisters, Zola of Okla., Ruby and Euphemia of Calif., Clyda of Ore., and Karel of Nev.
A celebration of her life was held Wednesday, July 28, 1 p.m. at the Chester Church of Christ with interment following in the Chester District Cemetery. The family requests any donations in her memory be made to either the Chester Church of Christ Joy Bus Ministries or Enloe Hospice c/o Fehrman.

Funeral services for Rachel Mae THIRSTY STARR were Wednesday, August 18, at the Hart Memorial Chapel with Clifford W. SPRINGWATER officiating. Interment was in the Echota Cemetery under the direction of Hart Funeral Home of Stilwell.
Rachel Mae THIRSTY STARR was born January 8, 1913, in Jay to John Goodmoney and Lucy NIX THIRSTY. She departed this life August 15, 1999 in Tulsa at the age of 86 years, 7 months and 7 days.
She was a homemaker and was a member of the Johnson Baptist Church.
Rachel was married to Charley STARR. He preceded her in death on June 22, 1999.
Although she did not have any children of her own, Rachel had several nieces and nephews that she loved very much and took care of.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; six brothers, Scott, Joe, Ralph, Redwing, William and Adam THIRSTY and one sister, Alice THIRSTY.
Rachel is survived by three sisters, Edna, Rose and Ella Mae; and one step-son Arthur, all of Okla.

Interment followed in the Clear Springs Cemetery under the direction of Hart Funeral Home of Stilwell. Andrew C. STARR was born August 22, 1913, in Stilwell to William and Jennie BIRD STARR. He departed this life September 2, 1999, in Stilwell at the age of 86 years and 21 days.
He served in the U.S. Army during World War 11. He was employed at Vallejo Shipyards for two years and he retired from General Motors after 32 years of employment.
On January 28, 1944, Andrew was married to Mollie Lee BEAVER in Tahlequah. He was a deacon at the First Indian Baptist Church in Oakland, California, and a member of the Oakridge Baptist Church in Stilwell.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one daughter, Jennie STARR; one grandson, Smoky B. FRANCO; one great grandson, Matthew SCHULTZ; two sisters, Narcie STARR and Donnie MUSKRAT; two brothers, an infant and Cecil DICK.
Andrew is survived by his wife, Mollie; four daughters, Nannie, Betty and Bonnie, of Oklahoma and Jane, of California; 11 grandchildren and 23 great grandchildren.

Gordon BOOKOUT was born June 19, 1932, in Centerville, Arkansas, to Samuel Lee and Evelyn Melinda INGRAM BOOKOUT. He departed this life September 11, 1999, in Baytown, Texas, at the age of 67 years, 2 months and 22 days.
He was a truck driver for 32 years and was of the Nazarene faith. He was married to Lois BUXTON in 1952 and to this union were born eight children. He was married to Loretta DORE on December 2, 1994 in Baytown, Texas.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Garland and Robert, and one sister, Gretchen.
Gordon is survived by his wife, Loretta; two sons, Jerry, of Oklahoma and Ricky, of Kansas; six daughters, Patricia, Phyllis, Terri, Tabatha, Toni and Kim, all of Oklahoma; 24 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren; two brothers, Paul and Bill; and two sisters, Jeanetta and Juanita.

Clark Owen (Bull) MORRIS was born September 18, 1930, in Clearfork, Oklahoma, to Clyde Owen and Beulah Agnes MCCOY MORRIS. He departed this life September 15, 1999, in Tahlequah at the age of 68 years, 11 months and 27 days.
Clark was born and rised in the Westville area. At the age of 20, he moved to Tulsa. He moved to Cushing at the age of 42, where he was the owner of Morris Welding Co. and Cushing Tank Car. Clark lived in Cushing before returning to Westville in 1994. He was of the Baptist faith.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Clyde MORRIS in July 1970 and Beulah MORRIS in April 1993.
Clark is survived by one daughter, Debra; and one son, Darrel, both of Oklahoma; two brothers, Herbert, of Oklahoma, and Haskell, of Oregon; four sisters, Margaret Mae, Pauline and Cherry Lee, of Oklahoma, and Pat, of Missouri; and by his grandchildren, David, Diedre and Cameron.

George DICKSON was born November 24, 1926, in Adair County to Robert "Bob" and Susie CHRISTIE DICKSON. He departed this life November 14, 1999, in Tulsa at the age of 72 years, 11 months and 20 days.
He was a farmer and was a member of the Lighthouse Church. On June 15, 1951, George married Loretta CAIN in Van Buren, Arkansas. He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Paul DICKSON.
George is survived by his wife, Loretta; three children, Levi, Danetta and Tony; six grandchildren, Levi, Cindi, April Dawn, Kandee and Robert Claude; two great grandchildren, Jaron Kyle and Jeusha Cole, all of Oklahoma.

JAMES

Rev. Frank William JAMES of Gans, Oklahoma, passed away on November 15, 1999, at Gans, Oklahoma, at the age of 49 years. The service was held at Immanuel Baptist Church in Sallisaw, Oklahoma, on November 18, 1999.
The clergymen were: Revs. Barnie SHIRLEY, Leon MCDOWELL, David CARTEE, Michael HARGIS and Janie JAMES. Burial followed at the Fleetwood Cemetery east of Sallisaw.
Frank was born on April 15, 1950 in Oklahoma City to Clois Edward JAMES and Naomi Irene HAMMOND JAMES.
During his lifetime, Frank was employed as a Pentecostal Minister with the Church of God east of Sallisaw for 10 years.
He was married to Janie Paulette HURST in February 1970, in Tecumseh, Oklahoma.
Frank is survived by: his wife; two daughters, Cary and Tracey, both of Oklahoma; two sons, David, of Missouri and Jesse, of Oklahoma; four grandchildren, Courtney, Laney, Michah and Ashlee; five sisters, Norma, Mary, Pat, Sherry and Marie, all of Oklahoma; and two brothers, Clois, of North Carolina and Jim, of Oklahoma.

ADAIR

Funeral services for Josie Blair ADAIR were held Friday, November 19, 1999 at the Baron Baptist Church with Rev. Randy PROCTOR officiating.
Interment followed at the Downing Cemetery under the direction of Hart Funeral Home of Stilwell.
Josie Blair ADAIR was born December 29, 1999 in Baron (Indian Territory) to Martin and Elizabeth BLACKWOOD BRADFORD. She departed this life November 17, 1999 in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma, at the age of 98 years, 10 months and 19 days.
She was a homemaker and a member of the Southside Baptist Church in Tahlequah. Josie was married to Floyd ADAIR. He preceded her in death on April 22, 1967.
She was also preceded in death by her parents; one son, Joebob ADAIR; two infant daughters, Joewann and Quayne ADAIR; two brothers, Felix and Clint DUNCAN, and two sisters, Mary PHILLIPS and Cleo BRADY.
Josie is survived by one son, Lindel and his wife, Vivian, of Oklahoma; three grandchildren, Bryan and Kim of Oklahoma, and Brett, of Kansas; four great grandchildren; and a daughter-in-law, Dixie, of Kansas.

NOISEWATER

Funeral services for John NOISEWATER were held Wednesday, November 17, 1999, at the Salem Baptist Church with Rev. Lawrence EAGLE and Rev. Martin COCHRAN officiating. Interment followed at the Salem Cemetery under the direction of Hart Funeral Home of Stilwell.
John NOISEWATER was born on Decmeber 7, 1935, to French and Katie COCHRAN NOISEWATER. He departed this life to be with the Lord on November 15, 1999, at the Stilwell Nursing Home. He had resided there until the age of 63 years, 11 months and 8 days.
Mr. NOISEWATER was employed by Stilwell Foods for many years until ill health forced him into early retirement.
John was married to Polly on September 22, 1964. He was a member of the Salem Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by both parents; two sisters, Anna Mae THIRSTY and Irene ADAIR; and one brother, Jack NOISEWATER.
John leaves behind to mourn his passing his wife; one daughter, Marie and husband Bill; three grandchildren, Jonathan, B.J. and Shawneen; one sister, Lena; and one brother, George and wife Patty, all of Oklahoma.

JONES

Barbara Mae JONES, of Stilwell, was born November 8, 1937, in Yale, Oklahoma. Her parents were Roy and Oma Mae GOAD ROBERTS. She departed this world on November 24, 1999, at the age of 62 years and 16 days.
She was an active member of the Stilwell Pentecostal Holiness Church. She served the Lord in many ways during her life in churches in Palmdale, California, Garland, Texas, and in her home church in Stilwell, in the capacity of Sunday school teacher, youth leader, and most recently, secretary-treasurer and board member of the Pentecostal Holiness Church.
Barbara served as an instructor at Flaming Rainbow Uniersity and for the past six years has been a the owner and manager of H.& R. Block Company, in Stilwell, Since the time that she moved to Stilwell in 1973, she has served as president of the Chamber of Commerce, and has been an active member of the Adair County Kiwanis Club for several years.
Barbara was devoted to service to her Lord and to ministering to her family which was a consuming passion in her life. She spent many hours visiting, calling or writing to her wide-spread family over the internet.
She was preceded in death by both parents, Roy and Oma Mae ROBERTS, one brother, David H. ROBERTS and one grandson, Robert Lee TONNE.
She is survived by her husband, John; one daughter, Terrie and husband Richard of Texas; one son, Robert and wife Ginger of Texas; one sister, Nancy and two brothers, James and Jack, all of Oklahoma; her step-father, Nikolai, of Oklahoma; one step-sister, Tania, of Florida; one step-daughter, Janet, of Oklahoma; four grandchildren, Josh and Chris, of Oklahoma, and Grant and Alicia, of Texas; five uncles, two aunts, and many cousins and other relatives.
Memorial services celebrating her life were held Monday, November 29, 1999 at the Stilwell Pentecostal Holiness Church with Rev. Dick GOAD, Rev. James WHITE and Rev. Jim EBY officiating. Interment services followed at Stilwell City Cemetery under the direction of Roberts/Reed-Culver Funeral Home.

MCKENZIE

Funeral services for Mona Kay MCKENZIE were held Saturday, November 27, 1999 at the Hart Memorial Chapel with Rev. Ralph CANNON officiating. Interment followed at the Westville City Cemetery under the direction of Hart Funeral Home of Westville.
Mona Kay MCKENZIE was born November 17, 1947, in Adair County to Ray and Adina WATKINS GUTHRIE. She departed this life November 24, 1999, at her home in Westville at the age of 52 years and 7 days.
She was a lead cutter at Baldor Electric and was a member of the Family Worship Center in Westville.
On October 29, 1987 Mona was married to Adam MCKENZIE in Fayetteville, Arkansas.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Mona is survived by her husband, Adam; one son, Preston; one daughter, Kim; one step-son, Christopher; five grandchildren; two nephews and one niece; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Benny and Flo, and Larry and Beatrice.

RITTER

Eugene RITTER, son of Grandville RITTER and Christine FARMER RITTER was born February 15, 1920, in Stilwell and departed this life to be with our Lord, November 22, 1999, at the Stilwell Nursing Home at the age of 79 years, 9 months and 7 days.
Eugene, a maintenance worker for Stilwell Foods for 35 years, retired in 1992.
He enjoyed life on the farm and his hobbies in his garden. He was a member of the Bell Baptist Church.
He is preceded in death by both parents; two sisters, Minnie RITTER and Thelma BREWER; two brothers, Burl RITTER and Joe RITTER; his first wife, Jewel NEWMAN RITTER; and second wife of 33 years, Vertie "Jackie" RITTER, who departed this life on October 2, 1999.
He is survived by two daughters, Shirley and Janet; four step-children, George, Haste, Sandra and Debbie; four sisters, Edith, Ethel, Alyene and Dolly; and one brother, Leon, all of Oklahoma; 16 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren.
Funeral services were Wednesday, November 24, 1999, in the Roberts/Reed-Culver Funeral Home Chapel in Stilwell with Rev. Dewey JONES and Rev. Lawrence EAGLE officiating. Interment followed at Stilwell City Cemetery under the direction of Roberts/Reed-Culver Funeral Home of Stilwell.

ESSARY

Lois Gene ESSARY, daughter of Orlando Gravel MILLER and Mary Helen SAGER MILLER was born September 8, 1929, in Stilwell and departed this life to be with out Lord, Saturday, December 11, 1999, at St. Edward's Mercy Medical Center in Fort Smith, Arkansas, at the age of 70 years, 3 months and 2 days.
Lois was married to Earl ESSARY in 1945 and to this union were born two children, Rickey Eugene and Verona Faye.
She was a live-long resident of Stilwell Community, where she was a faithful member of the Trinity Full Gospel Church.
She is preceded in death by both parents; husband Earl in 1977; one son, Rickey Eugene ESSARY; and one brother, Jerry Lee MILLER.
She is survived by one daughter, Verona; one brother, J.B. and wife Wilma; and one sister, Erma, all of Oklahoma.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, December 14, at the Roberts/Reed-Culver Funeral Home Chapel in Stilwell with Rev. Jim NOBLE and Rev. Joe WHITE officiating. Interment will follow at the Chalk Bluff Cemetery.

NELSON

Memorial services for Ellamae Delphia NELSON, 88, of Bakersfield, California, were held Thursday, December 9, 1999 at the Brimhall Road Assembly of God Church in Bakersfield with Steve YEARY, pastor, officiating.
Ellamae was born March 9, 1911, in Fort Cobb to Thomas Newton BANKS and Pearl Cora BYRD BANKS and died Sunday, December 5, 1999 in Bakersfield Heart Hospital.
She graduated from Mountain View High School in 1931. She received a full scholarship to attend the Oklahoma College for Women in Chickasha and graduated with a bachelor's degree in science in 1935.
While she attended college, she was a nanny to the children of the college president, Dr. Nash.
She taught English and home economics to students in the following public schools in Oklahoma: Cloud Chief, Mutual, Port, Taloga and Woodward.
She retired from teaching in Woodward Junior High in 1973 with 23 years of experience.
She was a member of the Stilwell First United Methodist Church, transfering her membership from Woodward First United Methodist Church when she came to live with her daughter, Jane.
In 1997, she went to live with her daughter, Mary and attended the Brimhall Road Assembly of God Church in Bakersfield, California, as long as her health permitted.
She was a member of Delta Kappa Gamma, Oklahoma Alpha Eta Chapter, R. and L. Club of Mutual, Oklahoma, and a member of Oklahoma Retired Teachers' Association.
She was married to Fred Mills NELSON in Woodward on December 24, 1937.
Her husband, parents and three sisters preceded her in death.
Survivors include: one son, Robert, of Virginia; two daughters, Jane, of Oklahoma, and Mary, of California; by six grandchildren, Janece, of Arizona, Latisha, of Idaho, Richard, of Arkansas, Charlotte and Charlene, of California, and Kimberly, of Virginia; 11 great grandchildren; and one sister, Mildred, of Oklahoma.
Arrangements were under the direction of Mish Funeral Home of Oildale, California. Burial will be in Dunlop Cemetery, in Mutual, Oklahoma, under the direction of Billings Funeral Home of Woodard.

SAM

Woodrow SAM, son of Martin SAM and Cherry BEAVER SAM, was born April 7, 1920, in McClain, Oklahoma, and departed this life to be with our Lord Wednesday, December 8, 1999, at his home in Stilwell at the age of 79 years and 8 months.
Woodrow was married to Bernice WILDCAT and to this union were born seven children.
After the death of Bernice, he and Margaret MCKINNEY were united in marriage on July 18, 1975.
He served his country proudly during World War 11 in the U.S. Army.
He is preceded in death by his parents; first wife, Bernice in 1974; one son, Woodrow SAM Jr. and two brothers, July SAM and Enola WILDCAT, and one sister, Myra WEBBER.
He is survived by his wife, Margaret; two sons, James and Sampson, of Oklahoma; four daughters, Rosia, Mary and Ruth, of Oklahoma and Rebecca, of Arkansas; two step-sons, Jim, of Oklahoma and Joe, of Arkansas; one step-daughter, Carrie, of Missouri; 30 grandchildren, 35 great grandchildren and one great great grandchild.
Funeral was Friday, December 10, 1999 at the Roberts/Reed-Culver Funeral Home Chapel in Stilwell with Rev. Bill DRYWATER officiating. Interment followed at the Fort Gibson National Cemetery.

SCOTT

Funeral services for Huckleberry SCOTT were held Monday, November 22, 1999 at Hart Memorial Chapel with Rev. Virgil HOLCOMB officiating. Interment followed at the Stilwell City Cemetery under the direction of Hart Funeral Home in Stilwell.
Hickleberry SCOTT was born February 3, 1922, in Stilwell to Lincoln and Lizzie RIDER SCOTT. He departed this life November 19, 1999 in Tahlequah at the age of 77 years, 9 months and 16 days.
He was retired from the U.S. Army and had served in both World War 11 and in the Korean Conflict.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one son, Phillip SCOTT. He is survived by two daughters, Loretta and Gloria, both of California; one brother, Charley; and one siter, Polly, both of Oklahoma; four half-sisters, Pamela of Nevada, and Bobbie, Wynema and Nancy, all of Oklahoma; two half-brothers, Michael of Arkansas and David, of Oklahoma.

SUMMERS

Leonard Lewis SUMMERS, son of Pinky SUMMERS and Della Ann CUMMINS SUMMERS was born April 4, 1926, in Glenpool and departed this life to be with our Lord, Sunday, December 5, 1999 at his home in Westville at the age of 73 years and 8 months.
Leonard was a dry wall finisher for a number of years before retirement.
He was also a veteran of World War 11, having served his country proudly in the army.
He is preceded in death by both parents; and four brothers, Frank, Fred, Jim and Gene SUMMERS.
He is survived by one son, Lewis; one brother, David; two sisters, Mary and Lela; and one stepdaughter, Gwen, all of Oklahoma; and by eight grandchildren.
Graveside funeral services were held Friday, December 10, 1999 at the Westville City Cemetery with Chaplain Donald D. NIBLETT of Tahlequah officiating, under the direction of Roberts Funeral Home of Westville.

WEST

Charles Melvin WEST was born on March 20, 1913, in Francis and passed from this life in his home near Stilwell.[date of death not given]
He retired in 1972 from the City of Tulsa and enjoyed working on his ranch, hunting, and spending time with his grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife, Eva; granddaughters, Vicki Sue, Margaret Ann and Lela Renee; grandson, Charles; great grandchildren, Daniel, Vicki, Gregory, Justin, Tauni, Macy, Lakota, Nicole, Lauren, Dannette, Karen and Jennifer; and sisters, Evelyn and Bertha, all of Oklahoma.
He was preceded in death by his daughter, Carolyn Sue ALLEN; brothers, Carl, Louis and Elmer WEST; and sisters, Angeline and Doris ARTHUR.
Services were held Tuesday, December 7, at the West Tulsa Free Will Baptist Church. Interment followed in Floral Haven Memorial Gardens of Broken Arrow, under the direction of Heath-Griffith Funeral Service.

SMITH

Cleo Gladys SMITH, 78, passed over peacefully, Sunday, December 12, 1999, in her home. Born in Bunch, Adair County, Oklahoma, February 1, 1921, to Jesse Green MCCONNELL and Josie CHUCULATE MCCONNELL.
Her grandparents were William MCCONNELL and Mary "Mollie" HALL MCCONNELL; Zeke CHUCULATE and Lizzie SINKINGWATER CHUCULATE.
Cleo was a proud member of the Cherokee Nation. After her mother passed over, she was raised by her paternal grandparents, attended Sequoyah Orphan Training School and later beautician school.
She worked at the McDonald-Douglas plant, Tulsa, during World War 11.
She was preceded in death by her husband Hugh E. SMITH, 1981; brother Alec MCCONNELL PANNELL, 1977; son Gary ROLEN, 1963; and grandson, John Edwand ELLIS, 1988.
She is survived by a daughter, Saundra, of Oklahoma; son, Ronald, of Texas; brother, Zeke, of Washington; granddaughter, Jeannette, Oklahoma; and three great grandsons.
