Richard N. Eslick, 59, of Eufaula, passed away Monday, Dec 12, 2009 at EPIC Hospital in Eufaula, OK.
Richard was born on March 23, 1950 in Muskogee, OK, the son of Jack Jr. Eslick and Mary Lou (Fine) Moore. On August 1, 1969, Richard married Mariena Tiger in Muskogee. They were happily married for 40 years. He was an avid fisherman and a lifetime member of North American Fishing Club. Richard was baptized at Immanuel Baptist Church of Muskogee.
Richard was a boat rigger for Thomas Marine in Checotah, OK for many years. He was a humble man and seldom complained about anything or anyone. He loved teasing and playing with his grandchildren until they played too rough or they ganged up on him. He also enjoyed Gourd Dancing during the EIC Annual Labor Day Pow-Wow in Eufaula, in which he set up the speaker stand for the Master of Ceremonies every year.
Survivors include his wife, Mariena, of the home; his sons, Robert and Joseph of Eufaula, Jeremiah of Haskell; his daughter Katie and husband Michael Corley of Eufaula.
Richard is also survived by 13 grandchildren and mother Mary Lou Moore; brother Bruce Eslick; sister Celeste Anderson, all of Muskogee.
He is preceded in death by his daughter Shirley Anna and father Jack Jr. Eslick.
Memorial services will be held on Monday, Dec 21 at 10:00 a.m. at Hampton Mortuary Chapel in Checotah, OK. Burial will follow at West Eufaula Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Bank of Eufaula.
